Nvidia DLSS was the culprit for me. I turned off nvidia dlss, then turned on AMD FIDELITY FX and set it to Quality and it was fixed.

Just an update: - I still cannot join someone's game (I tried 5 planets, different missions/areas, 15 mins each... nothing...) - Playing with a friend will always work' - For me, other players can join my game if: I'm at the medium difficulty and I deploy an SOS beacon. Any difficulty higher than medium... There's no chance... What I have not tried yet: - Load the previous version of the game (yes there is a way) but I do not know if that will allow players to play online. If it does work only players using the same version can play. I know the game is broken but I'm sure the devs are working hard to fix it. Either the devs broke something after the update (usually this is an honest mistake), the servers are having issues or the changes is taking a while to implement (some changes can take hours).
