Well, every bike has its limitations. Sometimes you just have to work around them. This one had a very good bashplate, which I smashed into very often. However, if you are good at picking you lines, it doesn't have to become an issue. Benefit too is that reaching the ground is easier, so less likely too drop the bike in low speed situations. I should say I have now upgraded to the F800GS, because of the suspension. Though, it has significantly upgraded suspension over the standard version. I tend to hit less rocks, but it's a lot more difficult to reach the ground which causes some low speed drops. I do also very much like the ability too ride 600+ miles of highway on a single day. Probably wouldn't be able to do that on a traily.

Mitas E07 Dakar, on dry asphalt they are great. Althouh hard under hard breaking the front wants to lock up sometimes. On wet asphalt they lose a bit of grip, but that is expected as it as the center line on the back (140 wide). On gravel they are amazing. Hard/loose rock amazing. Loose sand okay, mud acceptable. Have them on there for 10.000 km now and I thing they still have 50% thread. Installed them myself with the motion pro aluminium tyre levers, was hard work but doable.

Yeah, it can be difficult to read them. Not impossible, but you have to look frame by frame. I mostly have it to show what happened instead of trying to register a hit and run
