I have Hollow Crown and The Hollow Crown. By Mary Beard Emperor Of Rome and SPQR and The rise And Fall of The Dinosaurs. Say nothing was a very good read. Greek fire sounds great, for some reason it reminds me of a program I used to watch Deadliest Warrior. I loved that series.

People should be reading books about US history and also books about communism at this point

Love bro's beef with Cicero. Emma Southon is definitely a breath of fresh air for history books.

It blows my mind that people dont know that the pirates actually made a constitutional republic before america was free of the british and that they treated every man equal and freed slaves from the british and spanish vessels and allowed them to live and work as equals in their city and on the boats... the idea of america came from the pirates way of living and that is amazing

One series I don't think gets enough love that you might enjoy in this case is the Acacia series, by David Anthony Durham. It is very ASOIAF inspired, and not as grim as Joe Abercrombie, much more grounded imo, but I still think you'd enjoy it. And I've met the guy and he is also a great human.

Also LOVE that you're on UA-cam. I've been following you on Instagram as I try to rebuild my near extinguished reading habit and I have loved many of the books you've recommended.

I've been contemplating picking up Project Hail Mary lately, because I have had literally a dozen people recommend it, but I've been hesitant because the last Andy Weir book I read was Artemis which was... incredibly, exasperatingly disappointing, to put it the nicest way I can. Is it genuinely that good?

I could be wrong, but I believe at one point you recommended a history book on the Dust Bowl. I went back through your videos and couldn’t find it. Do you have a recommendation?
