Bravo my American friends for episode 300!! It was excellent and brought back so many memories of putting Destroyer on the turntable and then staring at that cover of covers, marveling at the detail in their costumes. You guys are right on when you mention that Gene must have liked those background singers so much that he decided to include them in his solo LP or maybe he just promised them their names would be listed on the credits if they took him into the Ladies Room. Having those kids' voices in God of Thunder was sheer genius - sounded possessed like Damien in The Omen. My favorite live version of God of Thunder is easily the Roosevelt Stadium/Jersey City show where Peter's drums sound like rocket launchers and Gene is demonic Gene. Here's to another 300 shows.
Ive never in my entire life heard someone say something or write something i want it sensored, removed, etc. JUST WEIRD
Congrats on the 300 episodes boys ! Great perspectives on Destroyer. I still get a little moist for Beth. It was a concert highlight (with PC) I will never forget.
I'm old enough to have not liked Destroyer when it came out
I've been waiting Forever!!! ,(no pun intended) for you guys to review Destroyer!!

First of all, I hate Great Expectations.....but, enough of that. But, God Of Thunder rules!!!! I love the kids screaming in that song!!! It reminds me of that horror movie where the twin girls show up at the end of a hallway!!! The Shining!!! Awesome!!!!
300 already? Amazing , time flies. Destroyer was my first album at 12 years old, what can i say except unlike most i do like great expectations but it lacks continuity with the other tracks. I was stoked to finally hear Aces sweet pain solo on resurrection which(as i guitarist myself) is technically difficult and unusual. The box set again was like re living my youth, all that candy and the demos, epic! Destroyer will always be in my top 5. Best wishes from Melbourne Australia..
Those first 9 nine studio albums are untouchable...( not incl. The solo albums )❤😂
Third ....sucker's!!!
Hey i was the first Thumbs up 👍🏻 happy 300th!!
Second……Happy 300th!
First …….. Happy 300 th. Legends
I actually had no idea how entertaining his podcast, "Rocktails" was until I watched Moon's guest appearance... then Diva's.... Now I want to see Dweezil on the show...not just because I always admired Dweezil's guitar prowess and strength of character but because these four sibilings have the opportunity to spend the remainder of their lives in a functional family. I had no idea how functional my family was/is until I saw how messed up a LOT of families are. The four kids in my family don't self-destruct and as the youngest, ( at 62 y.o.), I see the true value of family and I want that for the Zappa "kids", (...and yes, the sibilings will always be "the kids" to themselves...). I see four smart, engaging Zappa's and they deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor...The labor of supporting each other yields dividends beyond our expectations. I'm gonna shut-up now and order that book for my Kiss-fan buddy Danny...maybe he'll let me borrow it. -Ben in Redondo
I am amused
Have you guys ever mentioned or seen terrifyer?, There's a 3rd one out now , it's effed up!!
Eric Carr is the best drummer KISS ever had. And Hotter than Hell is the album with "the mystique" for days. Given a Kramer or Dressed to Kill type production...it would be their "masterpiece". And 3 sides hasn't been "anything" since the bagging of "Lafon"
One more to go...
my favorite kiss studio album and i like the production .yeah i said it . saw you guys on ahmet is tom trying to look like modern day triple h or old school butcher vachon . great job on both shows
They Definitely need to Remix This record do the songs justice!!
All this bull starts with Brandolt
3 Sides trouble? Can't ignore that. I haven't heard the episode and I won't. But I listened regularly until 2019. So here's what I know. That Zucchini fellow is "buddies" with Singer. They text each other. That Zucchini fellow has also trashed Eric Carr several times and praised Singer as being the best Kiss drummer. Talking about bootlegs That Zucchini Fellow has said 80s bootlegs are largely unlistenable because Carr rushed everything. But Zucchini talks nonstop so his comments are easily ignored. But it sounds like Brainvoid took Fatty Chatty's forgettable comments and highlighted them to cause trouble.
Yes, I’ve heard them say a few times about the tempo speed being Eric’s fault, when I’ve read many times it was actually Gene that wanted those fast tempos, I Happen really like Animalize live unsensored, great energy and skill.
Great ep guys and I agree with everything you guys are saying with Three Sides, it can be pulled apart a hundred ways but at the end of the day that was a terrible title for an episode, insulting to Eric Carr and his family, just horrible click bait.
Awesome! Thanks for doing a 50th!
Love this album. The cover( and its back story), all of the tracks, yep even those some tardz don't like. As for the production , it is what it is and lets appreciate it for what it is. Great episode, how could it not be? Looking forward to DTK 50th...

Listen to ya's all the time, great stuff - Fun sidenote re: vast career of Elsa Lanchester, besides Bride Of Frankenstein she's also very much remembered by us classic TV buffs for guess starring on a couple of Lucy shows, 'specially as suspected axe murderess "The Hatchet Woman" in "Off To Florida", 1956 (a classic episode you might wanna check out for some laughs if you're not familiar with it). Always great tuning in to you guys, happy Halloween...
YIKES
Great episode, I'm with Izzy I love Hotter than Hell, when Zeus said," that's non sense " on Izzy comment on asylum was hilarious , I didn't hear anyone bring up anyway you want it,, from alive 2 , it's a short cool song..thanks guys I appreciate the great episodes as always
Gene Legend Forever ❤
More Ace and Vinnie!!
Fave James Evans line “Look here man, we ain’t tryna hear a bunch of Yang Yang from your transistor!”
Hey Tom and Zeus, Great episode and looking forward to the next ten installments! I bought a bootleg copy of the vault as I couldn’t afford the $2000 price tag and besides I’d met and worked with Gene before so the meet and greet wasn’t enough to get me to pony up for the opportunity of a meet and greet but I was anxious to hear Gene’s demos. I wasn’t disappointed as there are many gems hidden amongst the myriad of recordings. I have since purchased the official release mostly for the book which is incredible and okay, the Gene figure! Legends Never Die was brought to the W.O.W. Sessions late as a completed track and Gene changed some lyrics to fit Wendy. I was disappointed as that was one less track I got to play on and wonder if it was included to get the album finished quicker. Gene, Eric, our drummer TC Tolliver and I did backing vocals but Gene had me sit out as my NY whine didn’t blend in with the rest of them. Many of the songs sound like they would have worked well on another Gene solo album rather than an official KISS release. Are You Ready is a real gem and surprised you guys didn’t like the breathy Beatlesque vocals that kick off Hand Of Fate, makes me wonder what the Beatles would have sounded like if they were still around in the metal era. Lyrically full of Geneisms one of my favorite tracks on this disc. Hand Of Fate owes a debt to ZZ Top and is another great song that should have found its way to a KISS album. Not a fan of the grunge tunes but they are well done and interesting to hear the Varnival of Souls demos. This episode brings this question to mind, Vinnie’s all edged forthcoming boxset not withstanding, which other KISS member would you like to see release a similar boxset? I know his insecure nature would preclude Paul from opening up his vault but I would love to have an official release of some of his demos and collaborations that never made the cut. And even though I was not a fan of him in the band I think Tommy would have some interesting songs in his vault that didn’t make the grade. Looking forward to disc two! Wes Sent from my iPhone
Hell yeah!!!!
Great show as always guys!! Long time listener, first time commenter,,and also first time listening to the infamous "Mongoloid Man",,,I kept wondering where i heard that melody line before when they sing " Mongoloid-Mongoloid",,and then it Hit me,,,it's the ending of the ESPN intro music,,,
Great show guys, as always, you boys deliver. I would never have thought to listen to Gene's vault CD since I've figured it was just him releasing versions 1-80 of some half-completed songs recorded in between sessions, or with him sitting on the toilet. But these are actually pretty good, that Gene voice is nice to listen to - and some of these tunes should have been included in the final releases. The more we know about Paul...Gene....Bruce.....even Cherry Buckley's Ace....., it is clear that all mega-decisions regarding which tracks made each LP, tour set-lists, tour stage show, probably even what food they had catered in the dressing room, all required final say by Prosciutto Paul and the others, including Gene, just had to abide by his words. Have a great week gents!!
Must admit when I saw the title and show notes I was hesitant to listen… but had a road trip and as always you guys didn’t disappoint. Gene should not sue you he should thank you. I loved disc one and I will be buying the set! So Gene owes you some royalties! 🤘🏻
