💯 just seeing his face gets my blood boiling
100% agree !
...oh fuck.
I feel like bridgerton in itself is so entertaining especially the first two seasons with lady whistledown and her mystery. There could be no main couple story at all and i would just watch the siblings banter with each other all day! It s hella entertaining.
She could've listened to the criticism and grew from that, instead steals a car and proves him right
You are right about tj even though i don't like liz he does love and care about her
Yep you are totally right mitchum was right rory didn't have it to be a good journalist we see that rory just couldn't handle that someone told her she wasn't perfect
Yea he was a pos but I loved him on the show he just made it better tbh I loved all these characters without Oscar it wouldn’t be as good
It's actually ironic that Lorelai ended up dealing with a similar situation when Rory dropped out of Yale. Her daughter left to stay at her grandparents house without saying a word because like Lorelai she felt all of her life choices were being taken away from her and that she wanted to figure out what she wanted on her own. As a result, Lorelai wasn't included in Rory's world much like Christopher was and ironically Lorelai allowed it because she knew Rory is stubborn as much as she is and it's only her way or no way. I guess through this plotline is the only time we were given a glimpse into how Lorelai's choices affected the people around her, especially Christopher
I have NEVER seen anyone take the time to breakdown Christopher from outside of Lorelai’s perspective. You’re absolutely right.
This was a great take!!
I think another reason why Mitchum was okay with Rory dating Logan is that she would push his son in the right direction and the fact Rory is interested in journalism was even better for him
I agree that Lorelai and Rory are pretty messed up, buttttt...Richard and Emily are pretty bad. Don't get me wrong-- they believe they are doing the right things. They care for their daughter and granddaughter. But they are elitist, at least a bit racist ("Rory's aSiAn fRiEnd"), abusive to their employees, vindictive in business, and very controlling about details that just did not need their input. Lorelai was berated for ANYTHING that stepped out of their norm. So it's no wonder she went wild as a teen. If gaining a few pounds, dressing a little differently, or listening to rock music gets you punished, that's not a good environment to grow up in. A lot of kids rebel because they realize there is NO PLEASING their parents, so they stop trying entirely and they use booze or whatever to drown out the negativity. I could list out more specific examples from the show, but I'd be here all day. Basically, it's a good show because the characters act like real people. Lorelai and Rory developed their own flaws and they should be held responsible for that. But saying that it's normal for Emily and Richard to behave the way they did? Even if that's true, that doesn't make it right.
I was 15 when GG aired for the first time and I really really admired Rory back then. Then I watched that for the second time when I was older and I admired Lorelai. Now when I am adult with family I can't stand both of them - they are so self-centred and bratty. I feel like Rory really did miss father figure in her life no one has ever been tougher to her she's always been that little pretty girl with halo that couldn't do any wrong. Yet you can see her be totally bitchy towards other people with little to no consequences. The difference between Rory and Lorelai is that Lorelai actually having a father while growing up is the reason why she achieved something proper in her life meanwhile Rory was a bit lost in her 30s not just professionally but also as a person.....great video btw (sorry for my english)
There would be no story if the characters were perfect.
You kids dont understand anti humor
@jersydvl i get it, could it BE ANY LESS FUNNY!
@@GmtimeTV i dont think you do
I don't think Mitcham was the problem. I think he trigg*red rory but he isn't the cause. He trigg*red her cause he basically told the people pl**ser that no matter what she does she isn't good enough. Her dreams don't matter. Rory was mothering lorelai from an early age while her dad was t*xic af. Its all about the needs of others not about the needs and wellbeing of rory. Even rory's dreams were what mom, grandpa(yale) or grandma (dar) wanted from her. Its why she isn't a go getter. Rory doesn't know what rory wants, cause rory's welbeing never mattered. Rory is too buzy giving others what they want including the entire town. Its also why her taste in men sucks. The only one that knows rory better than she knows herself is jess (simular childhood, takes one to know one). Its why jess kept asking her what SHE wants to do. Its why he suggested to her to write her book. Cause its like him and his self-help book. He is guiding her to express her feelings about her childhood. And as an effect Emily got a critical letter. And she basically confronted Christopher about just ditching her as a baby. Cause baby rory had the right to a stable home life if Emily didn't but in and chris wasn't a flake. That wasn't ok for rory and they should know that. Her being in her mothers shoes will tr*gger her as well. Now her kid will have her childhood. I wonder what rory thinks about that. Jess knows exactly whats going on with rory even if rory does know and lorelai still thinks all is well. Its why the book just came flooding out, cause its all the feelings she kept bottling up her entire life. Jess gave her a way to release it. Jess still loves rory, is actually good for her but he knows she isn't in the right space right now. To bad that show/storyline didn't continue.
And have you seen A Year in the Life?
I want to extend on one of your points, but I don't want to spoil anything!
@@Ouisija I have!
Great breakdown of the character flaws. Although I always appreciate the mother-daughter love, these two would be terrible to know in real life. They are so self-centered and generally unaware of just how awful they are. Main characters may be fun to watch, but people with main character syndrome are intolerable in real life
That's so true!! That is one of the things I love about Luke. He really loved Rory like his own. I wish I could find a guy like Luke who loves my son like that.
I'm rewatching the show right now (on S3 currently) and honestly I don't think it's holding up at all, I don't think I personally can continue the rewatch. The acting sometimes is so over the top and the characters are reduced to stereotypes way too much (don't even get me started on the ethnic stereotypes) As to the Gilmore grandparents, Emily truly is hella abusive and controlling and her and Lorelai's relationship is a perfect case study for unhealthy parent-adult child dynamics with the way Lorelai is often the one to apologize to Emily in S1 and S2 when it's Emily who has stepped so far over the line and is being so manipulative afterwards it's insane. It's literally just a loop of a pretty bad relationship that is sustained because "well, there are SOME good moments" and it's pretty much an excuse all people in abusive relationships make But Lorelai is no saint herself, Rory grows up somewhat parentified and I found Lorelai to be pretty inappropriate in the way she spoke about Rory's romantic life once Rory had gone to Yale. E.g. there was a particularly disturbing monologue about the "cute naked butt" of a college freshman who Rory saw passed out on the dorm floor after a party and how Rory should really be attracted to that; it's like chill out woman, you're 34 and the guy's barely 18, maybe let's not talk about his naked body?
Growing up is realising Lorelai was mad immature and a terrible role model
I am honestly watching this show to see their downfall😅
I never really watched this when it was on TV but started watching it earlier this year. I feel very much the same way! I found them both quite annoying.
💯. My opinions have changed drastically since the first time I watched the show 10 years ago.
Brilliant
I like your vibe and it’s a great video idea but maybe work on your titles a bit as i nearly didn’t click on the video but your thumbnail pulled me in. Great work keep going

Any sitcom is riddled with horrible people. Without a laugh track Friends is just psychotic. It is difficult to watch any sitcom without the laugh track.
@@josephgrimminck6855 community is good tho
@@GmtimeTV Community doesn't have a laugh track! Great pick tho, great show!
Also Penny is more of an Alcoholic in real life
I'm an alcoholic and I only got pennies in real life
In the comics, One and Five are actually brothers
good video
Tom baker will always be the best Dr😉👍
Interesting
Good vid 👍
Mal may be a rather unscrupulous fellow but he's a real gentleman at heart lol
the way she teases Daria about Trent 😂😆😭🤣
It be like that, true.
What about the season after that?
Give the poor man a break. He learned a new language (without cheating) worked with an injured back and still managed to take a lady dancing.. He felt bad because he had to watch his wife sleep in a puddle on the floor.. The man is a hero
Eyy it do be like that..
1. Anthony (stepped up when mom was a wreck) 2. Benedict (just gotta love benedict) 3. Hyacinth ( intuitive, predictes all the couples in the beginning of their season and even whistledown in season 1) 4. Daphne 5. Collin ( he always had a kind heart) 6. Eloise ( formerly my favorite loved her alot in season 1 and the actress however, the writter did her dirty with how seh treats her friends in season 3 with how much she cared about womens choice she never listen and empathized enough with Cressida's cry for help. Sbe was all in her own world with Pen and barely listened to her other friend I blamed the writters i felt like Pen and Eloise would have been able to save her they could have told her the truth and just made her the face of whistledown while penn wrote, she would have gotten the reward and not marry which is something Eloise would have loved, helped Pen stay anonymous since Pen didn't really need the reward and we would have another season of anonymous whistledown with a justified Julie andrews voice 😍 all problems solved instead they had her have a hand in ruining the chances of another lady trying to be independent am not saying they wouldn't get caught eventually I feel like they queen would be more empathetic to the three ladies desperation to be more autonimous than to just Penn doing it to be relevant and being overlooked) 7. Franceska (lover her too but she is who she is, not too interesting and that's ok ) 8. Gregory ( he is fun and entertaining) P.S this is just a rant about how the writters ruined my favorite, can't believe Anthony is last.
To add onto what's already been contributed...they liked Simon's character so much that they didn't write him off in case he chose to return and guest appear. It's unfortunate that he's not included but it was his choice and if OR when he chooses to come back, he can do so.
The books are better. The Netflix series is too political with DEI crap although I am enjoying watching them. As it often happens, the screenwriter is adding things that is not in the book.
What stuff did they add?
@@GmtimeTV it’s been a long time since I read the book but Benedict never had a homosexual encounter. Julia Quinn would never write that in a regency romance novel at that time. It would have turned off the readers.
How is the books better?? All the male characters are toxic and abusive, there are so many scenes that are SA or borderline SA. Shondaland made many changes that improved the books. Humor, aesthetic, characters; most are better in the show.
@@abbeyBominable123 I like the show, but there are a lot of big changes in the Netflix series. I’m watching it because of Julia Quinn and her Bridgerton series.
Hahaha! I loved your views on this. I love me a bit of Bridgeton too! Nice work!
Aww thank you so much That means alot to me
Sooooo the actor chose to leve😢cause he wanted to be in movies. He’s not coming back cause he doesn’t want to
He chose to leave the series
As much as he was an annoying manchild who never wanted to do any work in his life. Along with an addicted gambler, even hanging out with the wrong crowd. Not a very great husband. Despite him being completely lazy at least he didn’t go as far to cheat on his wife unlike Doug the episode where Olga thought she met the man she loved. But it turned out. He was nothing but a con artist manipulating her and well Helga was the one that saw right through him
Love the few episodes that i have seen. Unfortunately, I don't have any service where i can watch it. Great video.
Yeah but Oskar was hilarious
