Every Type of Depression Explained in 10 Minutes
In this video, we take a totally serious dive into the fascinating (and not-so-fun) world of depression. From staying in pajamas to exploring if your neurotransmitters decided to take a permanent nap, we’ll explore some of the most well-known forms of depression with a heavy dose of sarcasm, because why not laugh at the brain’s worst days?

🚀 What You'll Learn:
- Bipolar Disorder: It’s like a wild emotional rollercoaster with exactly two moods! Whether you're high on life and brighter than a rave party or sinking into a pit of despair, we’ll break it down for you-complete with some questionable metaphors.
-
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Why does the weather have to ruin everything? We’ll talk about why the lack of sunshine makes your will to live pack its bags. Spoiler: you’ll want a box full of artificial light, and no, that’s not a metaphor.
- Postpartum Depression (PPD): So you’ve just popped out a baby, and now it’s time for the “fun” part-persistent sadness, guilt, and sleepless nights (yay). We explore what really happens in the brain after childbirth (besides losing your sanity).
- Psychotic Depression: Because depression wasn’t quite enough! Hallucinations, delusions, and a deep sense of impending doom-let’s get into how psychotic depression messes with reality.
- Situational Depression: Dog poop on your shoe = instant depression. Okay, maybe not quite, but we’ll cover how specific life events can trigger temporary (but very real) feelings of depression.
- Substance-Induced Mood Disorder: Started with some innocent fun, now you're trapped in a spiral of brain chemistry chaos. We'll explain how drugs (the fun and not-so-fun kind) affect your mood and why it's not just about “feeling good.”
💡 Neuroscience Explained:
Dive deep into the brain with casual explanations of how neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine get involved in the depression mess. We’ll even talk about the amygdala, prefrontal cortex, and other parts of your brain that decide when to party or hit the low notes.

@@elenamoloney1870 Thank you for watching!
That background music is incredibly IRRITATING!
Is it possible to make your books into audiobooks using ai voices? It would be easier for you, and I don't mind - I just want to listen to it while I work
I absolutely love your humour throughout this. Manipulative people are very serious in their attempts to dominate their target so humour is a good antidote to these morons' playbook antics.
@@mmaidofsteel Glad you liked it!
I’ve dealt with all of these at one point or another. It’s made me argumentative and defiant. Now, it’s all I ever see, just because of how often I’ve seen it happen.
@@FranciscoQuinonez-tb7wv "Maybe it's all in your head"
@@neuro_mastery😂😂
I think that sometimes. I’m wrong maybe 60% of the time. It keeps my defenses up.
My mother probably watched this
Wasn't patient enough to watch entire vid.....One that may have gone overlooked is (created) codependency (devouring mother/ vulnerable-narcissist) types. They provide to hang it over you like a nuse and if you don't enable they'll lash out at you, it's a double edged sword manipulation when in reality you're just prop to utilize for their own amusement
Great job man. I technically use the silent treatment but not for like arguments or in relationships. I just learned over the years that life’s too short to listen to everybody and to choose wisely whose words you take in.
It's ,,victim", not ,,wictim". You're not Austrian, are you? I don't think so because I am😂
Well 👀. Luckily they sound the same 😇
Well, calling out Truth isn't manipulation (especially when you've been an ACTUAL victim of much injustice but you still see your VICTORY!!!) Is it?
I call guilt triping emotional blackmail.
For being so simply. It was fun to watch.
Know people that use a lot of these
THE SWORD OF DAMOCLES HANGIN’ OVER MY HEAEAEAEAEAEAD
Really interesting video. Thanks!
Millennials? WTF? "The American Dream" is something they used to say in the 1950s. The hilarious thing about millennials is they think they invented everything.
🪶
Can't be depressed when neuromastery video is out🔥 Great video dude, loved it
brief and concise!! Thank you❣️
Would you be able to do video on the similarities and differences of Stoicism and Absurdism ?
woah😯😯
Great summary.
@@Lyrielonwind Thanks for watching!
Basically all of those are a sign of dealing with immature person.
Nah, the game is real. You don't know how to play. You get nothing. If peace is all you want then don't play. If you want anything know how to play offensively and most definitely defensively
It’s way more nefarious than that
When a person claims to be re-recording every piece of music ever recorded, for the third time (record, cd, cpu, etc) and that is why they have no time...I'm outta there!!! LoL 😵💫
GREAT VIDEO
Humans,
Why is this on my suggested video list? I have no desire to manipulate anybody. I do not even interact with humans in an interpersonal, social, manner. I only interact with humans in a manner that a client would interact with a service provider or merchant. I ceased having friends and a girlfriend in 2000. I have no desire to ever have, "friends," nor a, "girlfriend," again. The modern version of friends and a girlfriend are nothing but low end enemies and users. I have no desire to have those intruders in my life again.
@@indridcold8433 So you don't get manipulated by your service provider. Happens a lot, one in every ISP is a manipulator. Stay safe
@@neuro_mastery I have Hughes Net. It is the only thing available in this rural location. It already manipulated me. It claims speeds up to 100 megabits. I get 12 to 25 megabits. This is why I often disconnect Internet for a couple of years every so often. We do not even have cellular signal here. Rural life is incredible! I love it! But communication is still very 20th century. Manipulation is definitly happening if I pay for 100 megabits and get only 12 to 25 megabits.
So good for thought why not use them while they use you. If your not useful your useless. It's a victim mindset to claim in being used. You can control the flow of what they use remember that. If they want you for your water you don't have to give them all your water. Control the flow of how much water you give don't let them control the flow. We all use each other for something, it's your job to make sure your getting what you want back.
OMG what happened to you?
✊✊✊..., Also, regarding y UA-cam suggested this to u, more than likely a video u watched or auto play played vaguely had something to do with psychology, my yt (FYP) keeps shoving idk sterling vids in my face
