Recommendation Against THIS Setup...
Very nice! Saddisch you couldn't finish the game :( Ending would have looked interesting I think ☺
I eventually infiltrated staying up in material and was able to win by checkmate, but with low time, it wasn't recorded. Sometimes players resign and the game feels similarly ended early too, but a win is a win!
This gentleman is a mix of the gentlemans gazzette and thereportoftheweek with really good chess commentary. Great video, enjoying this stuff.
Thank you very much :) I'm a long-time subscriber of the Gentleman's Gazette channel and the tie I'm wearing in this exact video is one of the Fort Belvedere ties. This is the pale yellow knit tie from their shop :)
this video should have more like, more view, its so sad😢
Thank you for the compliment. It can take a while for an audience to find your channel, so when they find it, then they'll just have more quality chess content to watch :D
I now Think, the Pawns are all Gender Equal. since most are male and female.
The problem I have is that the computer keeps defending by moving the rook just 2 squares away from the king, so that the king can just move to defend the rook when both forked... so I have to check, switching to another pattern. It gets confusing.... still practising...
It gets easier with practice. Against an engine, I still struggle with some positions, but against a human player, they are unlikely to defend as accurately and I can usually convert this. Keep practicing :)
Isn't it funny how we all learn these basic chess principles that we should follow, and can only become a great player by knowing when to commit sins against those principles :D Like in some lines of the modern defence when Black just plays pawn after pawn without caring about development.
lol I like to think of these things as guidelines, but in the Modern Defense, piece development is still important. It is just that the center is usually closed and this makes piece development and the value of a tempo slightly less compared to the position being open when a tempo could easily decide the game.

Some good tips
Thanks :)
Good video thanks. I believe to be able to continue without queen you need really good fundam of other pieces. Me as a 500 always uses the queen to do most of the work because she is that powerful. I struggle to use the other piecese. Maybe a need to memories certain patterns
Many players don't like giving up their queen. I've even made a positional sacrifice of my own queen in some OTB games in exchange for 3 minor pieces and my minor pieces can slowly outplay their queen, but it's very context-dependent.
Wow I was taken back when I saw how many views this has, great video!
Thank you very much; check out my other videos though; you can even filter for "popular" on PC if you want the videos ranked by most views.

Woah this is so impressive! :0
I'm happy you think so. A few more months will be 8 years since I've created my chess.com account :D
@@kesetokaiba Woww that will be a great milestone! :D
Wow that is really cold. Above 0 Celsius / 32 Fahrenheit here at night in Belgium. I didn't think you were going to win this after losing those 2 additional pieces. The cool thing about losing material is that the position becomes imbalanced, which , according to Jeremy Silman, is how you win games :D
I'm definitely an advocate of IM Jeremy Silman's imbalances :) Also, yes the last week or so has been really cold even for here.
impressive blindfold play! I didn't even know this function exists
Yup! Just change your piece "design" to "Blindfold" in the settings.
Your explanation was very helpful ful. Thank you
You're welcome. I welcome good questions like that :)
Best video on Queen vs. Rook I have found on the internet so far.
Awesome! I'm glad you found this video :D
This is how most of my blitz games end :D So often when I get a winning position I get too focussed on the winning plan that I completely ignore the counterplay (in time trouble). Those two connected juicers really dominated your rook. Good example of why we should never assume a recapture is the only move.
100% for both relatability and not making assumptions at the chess board.
Very interesting video.
Thank you. I wanted something slightly different and I may share similar story-type videos like this in the future :)
Great video! So the take is don't be too tempted to recapture, know when to stop and when to keep going?
Yes, but mostly just don't assume recaptures. Be aware of all your options even if you will usually recapture.
at 4:44 what if they just go c4? dont understand this straight forward idea
Oh, I meant their Ne5 was a straight-forward idea to bring their piece to the center even if it isn't best. The c4 elements are much more advanced, so don't feel too bad about that part. The play against c4 is that the c3 pawn is backwards and is a target I can pile up against on the half-open file (especially queen and both rooks). However, even if white plays c4 to exchange off this pawn, they are still left with square weaknesses. Not only the a3 pawn, but also weak squares such as b3 or possibly even d3 which I may get my pieces to long-term.
after you mistake a4, why cant you go f4 on your next move and the same path?
Good question. I recorded the answer to that in the original footage, but then had to edit it out to keep my video at a manageable length. The reason is because ...a4? Rg7! and the h-pawn is too strong. After ...a4? also ...h6 is winning according to the engine, but starting with Rg7 is the human approach of anticipating black's idea and then preventing it.
Hello kesetokaiba do you remember me ?? Btw nice video

It's really artistic. I like it a lot too. Chess can also be about creativity and artistic expression as well :)
How did the bishop check from c1 to f5? Wrong color square
Exactly. In-person an illegal move stands if no one catches it. In this case, we both just missed it.

Oh this was really helpful! Apparantly unconsciously I have been playing these openings, but I know too less theory behind them to play them out well
That's awesome! Very often, following chess "opening principles" will have you playing into the studied mainlines even without you realizing it. The mainlines are so well studied for a reason. They all have a strong purpose to them.

2017 - I like easter eggs around Christmas - That was a fun video to watch. - I remember going to the local chessclub in the same week as I learned the rules, back when I was 10 years old. After the lessons we had to play 1 rapid game for some small championship. A kid crushed me with Scholar's mate and instead of awarding my opponent a win, our teacher made us restart our game and told my opponent he wasn't allowed to play it lol. I can honestly say it was the first and the last time I fell for it.
That's a lovely trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for this beautiful videos. Great insights and experts explanations.
You're welcome; thanks for the friendly comment :)
That's a hell of a scientific treatise on tilt, my man
It's an important topic. Less than 1 hour for this video could save chess players countless hours later! :)
Great video! 😻Insightful! :)
Thank you very much. I'm happy you liked the video :)
i love how in depth you go here! this game to me feels so dead imo and its all because it is too many forceful moves that hinge on predator/prey behavior in the algorithms. i really don't like the bad vibes the game gives off because it promotes white privelage to go first and black advantage to takes.
Glad you like how in-depth the game goes. As for moving first, in the past, white or black was able to move first. Chess players eventually just decided white to go first as a way of standardizing the chess notations for opening theory.
What Aman made up is real art! Thanks for the explanations on how to do it and why it works.
You're welcome :)

Funny game. Objectively better for White but you really need to know what you are doing as White or this can go bad really fast :D
Exactly what black is counting on with this opening! xD
Thank you so much
You're welcome :)
Hey your on my friends list lol
I didn’t know you had a UA-cam channel this just popped up in my recommended.
Cool. Welcome to my UA-cam channel, friend :)
I had never seen anyone win 2 tempi against himself, but it turns out some people can, like Botvinnik :) (and probably Chuck Norris too)
There is actually a Queen's Gambit variation where a funny sequence of 3 is played to gain 1 extra tempo. How valuable is that tempo though? I may make a video on this variation in the future, but it is probably best to mix up the opening topics. Plus, I already have the video topic for the next one :)
Sharp as always! The game, the analysis and the suit.
Thank you for the compliment trifecta :)
Haha we played in flint against each other in a fantasy carokann
Yes, maybe I should use ...b6 next time ;)
That was a fun game. 1 ... b6 , avoiding pre-chewed chess from move 1
NM Sam Copeland crushed me in a game where he played 1...b6 (against my 1.d4, but I think he plays that against 1.e4 too). He had a new course on 1...b6. I didn't get the course, but I know a lot of the main opening ideas.
@@kesetokaiba Is it similar to 1.b3? Against 1.d4 I think 1 ... b6 could be an interesting way to get into a Nimzo Indian. (studying that Ben Finegold course atm and he goes for b6 in almost all variations.)
@@Geelse_zot It is somewhat similar, but I may even prefer ...b6 over b3 because that extra tempo may not necessarily be a good thing. I very briefly mentioned this concept in an old video of mine, but I have also considered whether to eventually elaborate and make an entire video explaining this concept more in-depth.
Is it because an extra tempo for white means that you can undermine their pawns faster@@kesetokaiba
Great video! New Subscriber
