THE BEST ROUND A YOUTUBE GOLFER HAS EVER HAD?
8 years ago I made my first video and was lucky enough to shoot my lowest round ever, shooting a 63 at America's oldest public golf course, Van Cortland Park. Now after all this time I had my best day since then on a much tougher course: Barbaroux Golf Club in France. Watch this (ASMR )relaxing round and see if you can guess how low I can go.
Also, this video marks my 1000th subscriber which is a huge milestone for this UA-camr! A big thank you to everyone for the support and all these years of watching my videos! I really love making these videos and sharing these beautiful places with all of you. For me golf is more than just a game, it's a way of life. Until the next time...Peace!

Join me as I play one of the world's most surreal golf courses ever developed. In 2004 Tom Doak was commissioned to build a golf course on the cliffs of Hawks Bay, New Zealand - some 600 feet above the ocean. The dramatic views and intimidating shot value have left golfers in awe ever since the day it opened. Follow me as I drone and play each hole in an attempt to showcase this course in a way...

Jesus, why are you Putting so fast! 4 Foot Puts with just one Look? Pretty Good Play though!
I love to play fast. It's part of my teaching. When the mind is free and no longer cluttered with thought you can play at a whole different speed.
nice!!!
awesome video mate! playing this course on friday so was interested to see what i was in for..
Thanks! I think you will love it!!!

Played Kinloch in a howling wind in the and of Autumn and it owned us. Played Wairakei in the sun. Kinloch every day
Yeah that's what I would have thought! glad to hear I choose wisely.
Dude I love your videos. Great round.
Love this place!
Cool course. Love the intro. I need to make a trip to NY and play here before the weather turns.
drove up from brooklyn to play this course bc of your video - greens were amazing
@@NA-fe6ze awesome! Hope it lived up. I think it’s a pretty special place.
Wrong...Del monte is
I haven’t played it. Guess I gotta check it out!
If you ever get further West in Nebraska I invite you to stop at Bayard, Nebraska and golf "Chimney Rock Golf Course". Well supervised and great people! Golfing in "Cowboy Boots" is common!
Thanks for the invite! Seeing golfers in Cowboy boots would certainly be a first for me!
I guessing I won’t do well on this course
Yeah it can be a struggle if you don't hit it straight, but I promise score won't matter when you are surrounded by the giant trees.
We just got back from there a few weeks ago. Even though we played in late August, end of winter and out of peak season, the course and the weather were pretty much perfect. So many places I stopped to look around and to take pictures, something I wouldn't normally do on the golf course, taking pictures, but this place just warranted it. Everything about the place was world class. Your video made me want to go straight back, you captured it so well.
Thanks for the kind words about the video. It was truly a special place. I don't think I would ever get tired of the views that's for sure.
You're an excellent golfer. I liked when you said you "had a real chance for birdie" on 7, in a place where I would have hoped I wouldn't 3-putt! Great video!
Yeah I think the guys I played with were a bit surprised I putted so well there as well 🤣
No Pretty crap actually Gimmicky, stupid narrow holes Nonsense golf course Millbrook 2 courses, Jacks point, Queenstown- all a far better golfing experience Irrespective of bunkers or not
I would have to respectfully disagree with you on it being "crap" and "gimmicky." Yes, the fairways are narrow but this is solely due to the land restrictions/terrain. The designer chose to leave bunkers out of the design so you aren't doubly penalized - a truly creative design concept for a tight course. Arrowtown uses the natural terrain perfectly and it's hard to image a much better design on such a unique piece of land. The course was built with picks and shovels so comparing it to a modern course like Jack's Point, where money and heavy machinery were no issue, is not a fair comparison. Like tasting a fine wine, golf course rating is definitely subjective and bound to stir up conversations. It is always refreshing to hear other opinions and critiques. However, in the case with Arrowtown, the vast majority of golf architectural aficionados do find it to be a unique, one-of-a-kind architectural design in a world full of cookie-cutter golf courses.
I'm not sure what this obsession is with over the top green complexes. No problem if you're strong and come in from height but I feel like you should be able to two putt any green if you hit a good first putt, not a miracle putt. Great video and editing by the way. But in yards? Imagine someone reviewing North American courses in metres 🤣
Great 3 wood on 16

A great vlog, i worked on the build of this course, glad you enjoyed it..
Must have been a blast working in that environment everyday!
Beautiful course and great views. Tell Jen she’s a fighter pilot with that drone. Amazing!! 🤩
Jen works the camera, I operate the fighter jet! 🙂
You definitely scored it with the weather for that day!
Yeah I got very lucky with no wind. I don't think +1 would have been the score on a windy day
Well played mate. What a day for it, that place can beat you up!
Yeah I definitely had a good day 🙂
Now that’s the weather I was after for when I played there 😂. The golf is far beyond my level for sure. Stumbled across your channel hunting for some drone footage of Kinloch for my video - would it be too cheeky to ask if you could let me use yours? (Credited of course). Feel free to decline 👍 just trying to show off the course to the higher handicap golfers of the world 😂. Great video and golf 👍
Hey Jack thanks for the kind words about the video! Glad you enjoyed. Kinloch is certainly a special place. I am going to decline the offer to share the footage, I feel like all our work is our own unique art and I want to keep mine special, it took me a long time to learn how to use the drone and film in my style. I would like to keep it personal to my channel if that makes sense. .Good luck with your channel! ✌
@@peacefulgolf No problem, I was hopeful it may have been club provided footage at first but then the more I saw I thought it was more likely your own. Yep completely understand (just to be clear I wouldnt have tried to pass it off as my own and given you credit on each shot). All the best with your channel - if you are in NZ again let me know and we could maybe do round :)
Stipy stipy, cool course great round, #theyarewakingup
My favourite NZ course. Wairakei is prettier/more forgiving and Cape Kidnappers has the reputation and views, but Kinloch is just pure golf. Thanks for the video.
I couldn't agree more! Kinloch is pure golf and for that I am grateful to have played it!
Try Parihaka , coastal Taranaki
Couldn't seem to find anything on it. Do you have a link to a website? Or directions?
Black Horse and Bayonet are better
Yeah those are two great courses but the conditions had really fallen down so I opted not to play this time around.
@@peacefulgolf NO WAY the course conditions have fallen down… had tournament there last week. I’m from Northern California so respectfully disagree with you there. 😂
@@themastermagicians2745 This trip was 2 years ago. So glad to hear it's back in great shape!
Yup. We're definitely spoiled in this area. Your video did absolute justice to the stunning beauty of this course. When I played here I stopped before every shot, took a breath and had a good look around me. It was like a work of art where so much planning and detail has gone into each and every part of it. At $350NZD (discounted price for June!) it was a very expensive round of golf but one that I will never forget. I only wish I was as good a golfer as you! Being a 20 handicapper sucks the joy out of it a little sometimes 😂
That's why I always say golf to me is more than just a game but a way of life. The golf course and its land is always something to behold. The game teaches and shows us beauty that no other game has ever done for me. If you ever reach the point of forgetting about the score and just playing for the sheer thrill of the environment you will see that joy come right back. Don't let the mind get in the way of rich experiences. Head over to my website www.peaceful-golf.com and check out my book. It may really resonate with you. Really glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the watch and the follow.
Such a smooth swing, handicap? …and a nice relaxing video. You would need more dramatic music videoing me though 🫣
My handicap is a +2 right now. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks!!!
Amazing round!
Thank you! could have been something really special if I had made a few more putts.
Agreed, Pebble is a money grab
Love the way you did it! I played the South Course and will play North next month. It seems very helpful, thank you very much!
Played there at the end of March this year. The entire area is such a stunningly beautiful place. One of the best environments for golf I've ever teed it up in. Great job with this video. I thought the inland holes were better than the ones on the coast. Doak is a master at building fun golf courses.
Nice video. Nebraska is in the Great Plains, not the Midwest.
I don't know, I just typed it into google and everything says Nebraska is considered the Midwest. 🤷♂
*Spoiler* No, it's Pebble. ...or Spyglass.
Yep, love this course too... Film does not do it justice 😊 Nice round 🎉
yeah it's a pretty special place!
Will watch this later tonight, what was your fav north or south? I can't make my mind up, had a better score on North but absolutely loved the front 9 on south. Love your vids mate keep it up!
I preferred the South but the greens on the North were really wild!
Beautiful drone footage and it gives someone like myself (an avid golfer living in Waipu, Northland) an idea of what to expect on this course. Also great and fitting for your brand, music backing. A couple of questions: Did you get any footage inside the clubhouse? What day of the week and month did you shoot this? It looks so quiet! Are you still in or planning coming back to NZ? Look me up at Waipu Golf Club. Cheers.
Hey man so glad you enjoyed the video! I didn't get any footage of the clubhouse. I shot the video in February of this year. I think I shot the footage on a Thursday evening once everyone was done playing. I spent 2 months in New Zealand and played nearly 20 courses.I hope to get back one day but for now I'll just have to watch the videos to remember this truly special adventure.
The course awesome.
