wonderful! gassho.
Thank you
Aligato daimasta
This is a wonderful teaching. Thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for all your wisdom they don’t have many videos at my center and y’all are part of the Soto sect which I practice
Modern man, this is not the way. Come home to Orthodoxy. Paganism cannot give you eternal life. Eternal bliss is not losing yourself in the universe, but is finding yourself in Christ.
Wow! I’ve seen many Christians teaching Buddhist techniques but you are the first Buddhist teaching technique from the western Christian tradition ! Read Sr Meg Funk’s Lectio Matters . Congrats😎🙏
Really interesting unpacking of this sutra. Ty
Thank you for this Dharma talk
Thanks. I hadn't come across fasicle Komyo before. Beautiful. 🙏🙏🙏
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 🙏
Thank you, as always your Dharma talks inspire my practice and clarify Dõgen Zenji's great teaching. 🙏🙏🙏
Wonderful talk. Thank you
Thank you so much for this very clear and understandable definition of Enmei Jukku Kannon Gyo! This was really helpful!
All this ritualizing , the robes, the name changes, the shaved heads, the iconography, smacks of belief, not truth.
Thank you. Like what you said regarding Soto practice being more than Zazen. 🙏🙏🙏
I have often wondered, as I practice, as Dogen says in Uji, that we are both the 3 head demon and, the sixteen-foot Buddha. A Dharma sister at our Zen Center here in Denver, said, as we were attending the altar, that, doesn't "he" seem like "he" is scowling at us? I have had this same notion in my mind, but, is it my mind realizing and seeing the scowl because I am scowling at myself, my failures, rather, than smiling back and saying I see your problems, thank you for letting me see you know you and understand you rather than running away from you. I see Manjushri smiling, I see Manjushri like a shepherd, if you want to see the sword like a staff that is going to hit you instead of guiding you on your path, then that is up to you, but we can be an egoist and get mad when the teacher corrects us or be grateful when we get the tap to help us gain focus to were we need to be going. Wonderful talk, thank you for sharing this wonderful talk. Gassho. Do you possibly think-feel the sword of Manjusri sword is the same sword that Nansen picks up in the Koan concerning the cat?
buddhism is a demonic lie. trust Jesus Christ, the One and Only God
Good luck with that bukko. Zen teaches us the way.
Christianity projects human psychology onto a supposed Supreme Being. A being capable of creating the universe would not be so petty to want humans to follow a silly set of rules and punish people to eternity in hell for not following them. The whole idea of heaven & hell is absurd. What about people who died before Christ was born? Do they go to hell by default? Ridiculous
Your comment proves that you are a religious bigot and truly ignorant of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and other great sasges. There is even a body of thought that Jesus experienced deep spirituality during a visit to India,
@@philiphema2678 "you are a religious bigot and truly ignorant of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha" - yes, this is correct. I spit on false buddha teachings "There is even a body of thought that Jesus experienced deep spirituality during a visit to India," - no, there is not.

Thank you so much for this! I love the Enmei Jukku Kannon Gyo and this is invaluable to me. 🙏
Your teaching is as dead as a rock.
This sounds like someone decided to superimpose new age teachings onto the ancient Tathagatagarbha tradition. There is no obsession with the present moment in any Sutra.
All we have is the present moment - in all schools of Buddhism. Most of us spend our lives thinking about the past or dreaming about the future. The past is gone, the future hasn't arrived so the only thing that actually exists IS the present moment. If you aren't fully present with what is happening in this moment, you're missing your whole life.
@@Clipped55 The present moment would be an infinitely tiny unit of time...nothing you could even perceive, in the same way that you cannot perceive a single frame of a movie in isolation. Your teaching is not found in any Sutra...its just modern nonsense. Buddhism is not about 'your whole life'. Life could end a nanosecond from now....its nothing you can rely on. Buddhism is about liberation from life.
@@Teller3448 And then what?
@@janopian389 Dogen called his temple 'eternal peace'...that's what.
@@Teller3448 The teacher is right, the student is wrong. Right view comes first. There is work to be done.😀
your videos have become a pasttime of great radiance in my life. thank you.
Gasho. Very inspiring. 🙏💖
Wonderful talk! A lot of ads though.
I love listening to you talk more than many many others. Just resonance.
I'm doing mini 4day sessin at home. Using your talks for my zen food. It's always good to revisit the basics of zazen and Dogen's teacging in Fukan Zazen-gi.
Thank you! This talk was so helpful and encouraging.
I have always believed that I know the very moment when the search began for me. I was 12 yo in my 3rd foster home and I had an "experience" that lasted maybe 60 seconds?? and promptly forgot about it for years. And chased it for decades...
This is such an enlightening video and just wow. I praise the power of her words.
Im indonesian, for a second i thought soto is food 😅
Food meditation. Yum
Thnk you!!!!!
Thanks a lot. Quite an insightful experience.
Loved it. Thank you.
Thnk you for making these dharma talks available online!
Interesting
🙏
Why would you honor a hungry ghost?
Thank you 🙏🏽

Among other things, Master Dogen washed dishes, ate rice and sat sat Zazen. It is likely that he had no idea how many lives he played a part in changing or the effect he had on history. 'All the darkness in the world cannot put out the light of a single candle.' St Francis of Assisi.

I don't mean any disrespect but I am curious as to why all spiritual people wear special clothes. I spent time in an Eastern Orthodox monastery and they also have their garb they wear as well. It makes me think of the people in Platos cave that give each other awards for meritorious deeds as if it all means anything. What is the point in the special odd looking clothes that sets people apart from everyone else? I've seen the truth and going by my own glimpses all of the awards and accolades people give one another is like children pretending to be something when in reality they are literally nothing at all.
Only Jesus Christ can bring you back to the Father and in Heaven.

Thank you Reverend. I feel grateful for what you share, many blessings to you all.
Thank you for these talks, I am very interested to listen. However, as I am coming to the end of your book 'Being-Time', which I fined is of great worth to me (which is to say my position) and thus have the highest regards towards, I shall finish my reading before I come back and make my way through this collection of videos. Yet I thought it appropriate to express my thanks that you have chosen to have this online presence. Thanks.
Dear Dog-san, I am glad that you are finding the lectures and the book helpful. Shinshu
Thanks for the video .. BUDDHA Bless.
Thank you, I really appreciated what you communicated in this talk.
