Hi UA-cam! On the trails I go by Mittens, off the trails I'm Jewelz. I live in the PNW, am a backpacker, hiker, avid paddleboarder and amateur bird nerd. I also have 2 dogs, Finn and Kona, that join me on all the adventures they can.

Climbing the "Comically Steep" Mailbox Peak

Finn (silken windhound puppy) got his first big boy hike! Kona (adult mixed breed) knows this trail and loves it every time! We decided Mt.Si in March would be a good starter hike as the elevation gain isn't too crazy but definitely enough to wake up the legs. Lmao. PNW dweller as well. No matter what hike I pick, i always get out there and start thinking "this is comically steep. Where did this incline come from? This wasn't on the map... Moderate hike my @ss."😂 Also, you gotta try this hike: im sure youve done Ape Cave, but have you done it backwards?! Hike up the mountain in the beautiful sunshine, work up a sweat, and then cool off leap frogging down the dark cave. Literally never broke a sweat on the decline. It was so fun.
