I just got this with a huge margin to spare and I didn't use the purple spin pad. Just keep your speed up and make sure you don't hit anything. That will reset your multiple fast. Just drift from point to point, hit narrow gaps, jumps, yellow drift corners. Make sure you hit the yellow and black targets properly with the side of your car or they don't count. Once your multiplier is up from a couple donut spots just hit a few jumps at high speed and they count for huge points considering how easy it is. I think I got around 40k and didn't need the pad, the first time I tried it I got 27k.

Finally got the trophy thanks. At the end I kept drifting around the green pilar instead of driving further to the purple circle at the end, this worked for me.

I believe choosing a weaker car is better to get use of the 1x2 multiplier.. I did this and easily took 45 points

How do you go around in such a tight circle? When I hold down R2 and left or right I go forward off the purple rings. This trophy is killing me.
