I remember watching the original broadcast. Still makes me smile. Everyone did a great job honoring Thunderbirds but James May being 100% true to the bit by doing Supermarionation movements was icing on the cake.
Agreed! I had just started watching Top Gear on DirecTV because I’d gotten BBC America, and the Ambulance episode was the first Top Gear show I’d seen I was rolling on the floor laughing - it was the funniest thing I’d watched in a long time!
In the version that uktv (dave/yesterday) shows this has been cut So just after James walks like a puppet the whole sequence is edited out and they just go straight to the challenge
James alone understood the assignment.

Forget it. The nearest hospital to Theale is the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Thanks to Reading Borough Council, it would take you an hour to get there.
Thunderbirds are go!
1:06 Disappointed the doors didn't close and the plants pop back into position at the same time.
Wie schlecht soll es sein? Top Gear: JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
captain sloooowww
Ah, yes. The Thundercocks.
This was really stupid, I’m sorry, Stupid.
Love James May's marionette walk🤣
Just a set of overpaid fuckin'idiots
But May's marionette walk though🤣
Thunderbirds are go This is funny Yeah baby yeah
Hammond on that pole that never seemed to end 😂😂😂
the channel Dave cuts out this bit everytime they show it so im glad someone put this on yt lol
Awesome!😄
Hammond and may doing 2015 thunderbirds James doing 60s thunderbirds
I think this might have been peak top gear
Not the heroes you were expecting…or wanted.
YTP: " Thunderbirds are gay! " Reality: " Thunderbirds are go! "
Lol the plants just fall over
RIP David Graham
I can’t breathe😂😂😂
More the blumderbirds
Or even the Blunderbirds.
Thunderbirds are Go!
They spent the entire BBC's budget for the year on those effects 😂
I never get tired of that Thunderbirds.
The Ambulance Challenge was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV.
Agreed! I had just started watching Top Gear on DirecTV because I’d gotten BBC America, and the Ambulance episode was the first Top Gear show I’d seen I was rolling on the floor laughing - it was the funniest thing I’d watched in a long time!
Sad to know there will never be another episodes like this 😢. Thanks for all the laugh chaps
the Puppet walking was top tier Thunderbirds.
Top Gear’s Wallace and Gromit skit, this is.
James may having a blast reliving his childhood memories.
wouldnt it have been better to use thunderbird 3 to destroy the meteor right? hey they tried to launch a car into space remember
What a remarkable printer. Lol
As of today, Clarkson would never fit through that Sunroof of the Porsche.
😂😂😂
The cut from the Thunderbirds March to the Fireflash Landing is utterly jarring.
Jeremy is Thunderbird 1 due to his Sppeeedddd, Hammond is thunderbird 2, and May is Thunderbird 3
The plants had me laughing the hardest
Totally the best part for me 🤣
The originals were on two broomsticks so the string is a perfectly acceptable substitute <3
0:53 can’t help but laugh at Hammonds face 😂😂
He is like: "How long is this going to take?"
0:26 I sometimes walk like a puppet.
0:26😂😂😂😂😂
Love this!!! Had to come back and watch it again!!
In the version that uktv (dave/yesterday) shows this has been cut So just after James walks like a puppet the whole sequence is edited out and they just go straight to the challenge
So much better than the BBC America version
0:22 - Thunderbirds Are Go! an Inspector Calls!
LMFAO! the fact that Hammond slides down a mile plus long pole is too fucking funny. As well as Jame's waiting for his power tailgate to close.
If ANYONE other than James did the puppet walk it wouldn't have been as funny...
"What a remarkable printer" because it came out in an envelope. James is hilarious
That’s how they did my Great North Run certificate. M
Thats amazing i didn't even notice till you mentioned it 😆
My all time favourite Top Gear episode 😆
One of their best-ever moments! It has a slightly low-budget look to it, but I feel like that's intentional.
Quite, and it's better for it
That brief shot at 1:06 emulates the focus and colour of the original model shoots perfectly.
Warning: show budget does not exceed 23¥
