Calsonic Knsei CSE 613C aircon's pully bearing replacement.
UB-70’s are sold by many different companies, but probably all come out of the same factory! Instructions are easy to find by Googling, and there’s some really good YT vids on it. Seems like This Old Tony did one, but I might be wrong!
Why is it a problem if it's too hard?
The harder it is the more brittle - it could actually break.
That 12mm bar may be perfect but it'll have to do
Ha Ha, that's about right.😂
Nice video. Well done
Thank you - I appreciate that.
Very nice. Where in SA are you?
Hello, Thanks for the comment - I live in the Cape Town area.
Your profile picture shows the Mother City beautifully. I’ll be there in a couple of months again. Always terrific being in SA.
Fantastic - enjoy the trip.😀
This is a handy little tool build. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Excellent, thank you very much - I really appreciate it.
@@colin.forsyth You're very welcome. Let me know if you want a free forum membership, and you can post your videos whenever you want. We have many YTers on our forum doing the same.
Nice shop and that power hacksaw is impressive. Great video.
Thanks for the kind comment. I appreciate it.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it - 😁
I've always wondered if that could be done. Thanks so much and great job.
Thanks for watching & also the kind comment 😊
Love that jig for rounding the sides of the plate
Thank you - It works really well.
Nicely done.
Thank you ☺
Good day, i just saw your powder coating video. I went on a bit of a dive and found that we're from the same city. Does Uncle do engineering in request? Im doing a bike restoration and im looking for someone who could turn up some bar ends (i have a sample, they arent sold anymore). If you have a website or business details, could you please guide me to finding it. Kind regards!
Hello @t_triesArt thanks for the comment - Please send me a WhatsApp 0823962269. Then we can discuss. 👍
I found your channel lol
I'm glad you found it.😊 Any tips or comments would be great.
@@colin.forsyth thought you said you were in your 40s with dark hair and dark eyes? lol
I love that bearing press. I'm going to have to make one for myself
Maybe a good project to make - you could show us with a video??
Great vid. Entertaining and informative. I'm not a fan of the music. I'd rather have silence and the general workshop noise
I've mostly stopped using music in my videos. It seems most people don't like it.
"Beautiful"
Thank you 😁
I would have just cross drilled the back of the tool for a 10mm Tommy bar instead of the hex. Nice job though.
One has to retorque that castle nut so it has to take a proper spanner in order to use the torque wrench
Not a bad idea, but we wanted the ability to torque the nut. Thanks for the comment ☺
Well done, I usually just machine the end of the sockets it works good to.
That's a good idea - Isn't the socket very hard?
@@colin.forsyth no not to hard at all, hss cuts them easily..
@@kentuckytrapper780 Ahh - good to know, I'll keep that in mind for the next time.- Thanks.
With respect, why do you think we need yet another burnishing tool video exactly the same as loads recently uploaded.
You're right, there are plenty out there - What I enjoy is looking at various videos of a project I'm interested in making. I like that there are slightly different ways of doing things, and I can sometimes learn a tip or trick along the way. When I make a video, I try to add a little something that I didn't see in other videos. I guess, I'm not always successful. 😂 Thanks for the comment.👍
the good lathe. interesting project Thanks
😁 Even although it has some drawbacks, I really enjoy the Myford lathe. Thanks for the comment.
Very nice!
Thank you very much.
Very nice work.
Thank you very much!
Another great video
I appreciate that, thanks.
Very informative video, thanks for sharing
A pleasure, thanks.
At 15:05, to 15:15, your setup moved!
Wow, you're really observant - it did indeed move. 😥 Luckily I was able to correct it without much trouble. I originally had the correction in the video, but edited it out to reduce the video length (Which was already quite long).
Nice video. Is there an advantage to powder coating compared to painting?
Well, I'm no expert, but I think the coating is much more durable that paint. I'd be interested to hear what others think.
@@colin.forsyth Ive been speaking to some knowledgable people and it seems that powder coating is so hard that its difficult to sandpaper, unlike paint that sandpapers off very easily. Also there is a lot less mess compared to paint. The only downside is that one has to have an oven to cure the powder
I just made one with just a bearing (608ZZ 8 x 22 x 7) attached to a 1/2 bar tool holder stock, same as ua-cam.com/video/eKJzPjWY4ow/v-deo.html&pp=ygUWbGF0aGUgYnVybmlzaGluZyB0b29sIA%3D%3D, but I'm not getting any kind of smooth finish after running it on a piece of cold rolled steel pipe. Can't figure what I'm doing wrong. In fact it seam worse than before.
I think the actual Ball that's in contact with the turned surface does the trick. Just having a bearing in contact with the work piece, I believe is too flat. I have seen a tool like that used to center a work piece in the lathe. There are lots of UA-cam videos - Here's one to check out: ua-cam.com/video/MroTc5Ic4_0/v-deo.htmlsi=4eN4j1RjbZ_q7z7z Thanks for the comment ☺
Wow! Very nice!!!!
Thank you - I really appreciate that. 😊
Schöne Arbeit 😊
ich danke Ihnen sehr.
Ive one question - everyone does not like push type knurling tools and make or buy the scissor action type, but now everyone is making burnishing tools that operate identically to the push knurling tool that is shunned???? What am I missing?
Ha ha, you've got a point, however I must say, I don't put nearly as much pressure on the burnishing tool as I used to put on the Knurling tool. But you've given me an idea - how about a scissor type burnishing tool. 😊
Dang. That looks so easy, I'm going to make one tomorrow. Inspiring. Thank you
Thank you - ☺
Very nice work sir
Thank you very much - I appreciate it.
There’s it!
It really is 😁
Good deal man..
Thank you.
What's an arbor press?
It's a tool for pressing arbors 😂😂
To make life easier should you need to do this again, strap up the motor to the beam while the head is at max height, then you should not need the wood blocks. lowering the head should get enough clearance to clear the motor shaft.
That's a good point, thanks - Hopefully I wont have to do that again, anytime soon 😀.
You need a crow bar
I was scared to apply too much force, but I agree that could have worked.
Great video
Thanks!
Great video bro. Can't wait to do mine
Thank you. - Make a video when you do yours, I'll subscribe for sure.
that earned a new subscriber. So many channels do the silent cinema, which I dont like. You did a great job with the commentary on whats going on. thank you.
Thank you for your kind words - any suggestions for improving would be welcome
Nice video. Can I get your autograph? 😅
😂
Where did u get your microphone
Hello Mr. Unusual, I ordered my Microphone from Aliexpres. It was just over R2 000.00 - Search for: "FULAIM X5 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System". But Check out this You Tube review: ua-cam.com/video/P9CXORdSGOo/v-deo.htmlsi=cQWW0YtWGZEPgeRZ It seems the same system is also branded "Neewer CM28", Its just cheaper.
Perfect, but it’ll just have to do 🤣
Oh yes!
This is the last video in this series - I found this drum sander to work really well, and would recommend it.
POV : I’m from takealot and saw your comment 🔥❤️
Hi Savagewolv, thanks for your comment.
I keep waiting for you to do a little jig when you say “this is my little jig” 🤣
I'll remember that the next time - I'll do a little jig. 😂
Is there a reason you want a smaller or wider gap for the bees’ entranceway?
Well, that is a good question. Bigger allows more airflow for cooling - Smaller is better for cold winter days. But the bees will close up the entrance with propolis if its too big. They can then re-open it again in summer. So a slightly bigger entrance is good and the bees will customize it.
So clever to let the bees clean the equipment 🤣 I had a good giggle. The honey looks so good! I can’t wait to taste your first batch!!
It really very good 🥰
That honey looked really good 🍯👌. You guys work so well together, great to watch❤
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it.
Looks good but you would have had a much easier time if you used flux paste.
Hi John, That’s a good point - the solder I used has a flux core, but I agree flux paste would have been a good idea.
@@colin.forsyth I assumed so. In my opinion the flux core solder is only good for electronic components and wires.
