Programming new HISS keys for a CB900 Honda 2005
it worked perfectly on my 900 Hornet straight forward to make the cable thank you Zarand
Thank you for this super helpful video!
It really worked on CBR1000RR 2005
hi there , very nice video , can point the Ohm reading of a good gauge, or a good sensor ,
Brilliant, worked a treat. Thank you..👍👍
Apakah cara ini bisa di terapkan di motor honda st1300 A9
Just did this on my '04 900 Hornet and it worked. Little note here: if the cabling is wrong at any point the result will be that when turning on the initial key for the first programming the fuel pump turns on and HISS led is gone. It turned out that in my own made cable the fuse was off. I used a multimeter to determine which part of my cables is broken/cut. After replacing the fuse I finally got the solid HISS on and no prime, so I could start the HISS reprogramming. Thanks for this video again!
Top video Thanks
Is there anywhere you can buy the loom?
hey boss my ecu is not going to programming state what can i do? i tried 10, 20 seconds, with resetting the key, on-off master switch on right handle, tried to connecting to mass and negative with red but nothing.. should I replace the battery? i tried with multimeter on ends of the cables and i found 12.4v , tried resistance 90-100 ohm more or less. what can i do?
What is the
hello, do you know if it works on a Honda CBF 600 model 2011? If so, you can write how to do it. The red plug is the ABS on mine .. Thank you and best regards
Hey everyone I'm looking for a little help trying to restore my wife's 68 Camaro finally got most everything working again and running , one problem I'm having is as soon as I turn the key the temp light on dash comes on and stays on. Car is not overheating and runs great. Now you would think the temp sensor but for the life of me I cannot find the temp sensor there is nothing on the block or on top of the coolant thermostat housing. Any ideas ? It should be located driver side between the block or head and the master break cylinder. Please help
Hello would this work if your changing out the ecu with another, then code the new ecu with the old key?
I don't think that would work. An ecu swap would also need the key barrel and a key that is already coded to it. Would need to be a complete swap, not just the ecu.
@@zozman33 thanks for the insight much appreciated
New ECU comes with 1 key. You need to cut that new key to same as old key. The old key(s) are useless with new ECU. You need new blank keys if you want spare keys with new ECU.
can i Programming new HISS keys for honda hornet 600 2005
YES! Just get spare BLANK key(s) and have it/them cut to original then follow instructions as detailed in video. (Nice bike - I got the 2006 and a couple 900s) edit: the CPS plug located on left side of bike, under the plastic cover under the seat. I think it's located in the big clear plastic protector cup that has multiple connections (yeilow wire with white wire connector).
is it important to put the 100k resistor? Because I tried without and HISS blinked then only 2x with the new key, not 4x. And now the engine try to go, but don't starts, only tries... You think it is possible to overwrite the new key? Thanks!
No resistor required - but if you do then it would only need to be 100Ω not 100kΩ
Thanks for this. Worked on a 2010 VT750 Aero!! Took more time building the wiring that doing the key! You sir are a champ!
Works on a 2008 SH300. Thanks a bunch!
what do you do if the original key doesnt work anymore
SOL. You might be able to take to Honda dealer. They'd need both the key and the ECU. It's not an easy fix - you might end up needing a new ECU&key. That is one of the reasons I dislike H.I.S.S.
Nice video well done 👍👍👍👍👍
Just used this method to add a key to my 2009 CBF600, thanks for posting.
Howde! I got same motorcycle, and same problem, the missing key. Big help this is. Thank you Zari.
Thanks
Thanks for your vid. Just what I needed.
I lost a chip key once , and learned that you can carefully remove the chip and epoxy it to side of the switch . then use normal cut keys . worked well on a pt cruiser . I will try it on my cb900f also . hoping it works or I'll do what you did . nice video BTW .
Thanks for the feed back. That's actually a great idea.
Works on honda shadow 750 2009.
What about a honda deauville ?
Top video! By the way, What's the required fuse amperage? thanks.
Will this work with a already programmed chip as well? Will the chip be overwritten?
I don't think the chip gets overwritten I think the code in the chip code gets programed to the computer so that the computer accepts the key when it sees the key, someone please correct me if that is incorrect.
Old keys are USELESS with new ECU.
Hi Zarand, Could you clarify please which wire to use ? My friend and I tried to do the same, but we can't locate red connector. So, I'll be grateful for any comments.
found the plug on mine eventually, it is in the centre of the bike under the airbox, I had to follow the wire, I can just touch it with a screwdriver, easier way would be to cut the cable before it goes into the engine and use install a weather proof plug for access.
thank you!
I installed a two pin Deutsch Plug in the cable from the engine and made the lead with the resistor so it would plug in harness side of plug, followed instructions and it worked no worries
Hi, does this work for my only key that lost its chip?
Zvbrix_ Hi. I believe you need one working key before you are able to create a second key. If you don't have a working key them you may need to replace the ecu,the key barrel and the sensor around the top of the key barrel. Maybe Google this topic as I'm sure I have seen wreckers that sell a complete set as replacements.
Hi! Im the guy who have got keys for HONDA, my last nick was TOKICORC51 - now my new EBAY account is MOTOIMMO so if You need any spare keys for Your japanese bike or immo programming service for ECU please contact me on EBAY nick MOTOIMMO
Hi, In my case I am needing a new ECU but I don't need new keys as I have existing keys which are mapped to the old damaged ECU. If I follow your steps. can my existing keys be programmed to the new ECU ? The reason I ask is because you say that "you need an existing original key to get this under way and working". Just wondering why I would need and original key that works if essentially, by using this method we are mapping a chip in any key to the ECU ? Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks
Hi. From memory. You will have to buy an ecu that already has at least one key. The additional keys will need to be blank ones that have not been matched to an ecu previously. You may even need to get the sensor that sits around the key barrel. I would say best to buy a set of parts that come with a key. Not just an ecu.
having at least one key that work is like "log in" into the ICU to verify that you are the owner! otherwise a thief would just reprogram any key and steal your bike. CAUTION! you need at least one working key in order to program another.if you loose all your keys or no key is working then a new ICU must be installed. the reason?you can't verify you are the owner .... the new ICU always comes with two keys that must be machined to fit your key switch and programmed to the ICU. For ONLY the first time those two keys are able to be programmed without using that wiring loom. after that you can program your old keys (or any other key ) to the new ICU but now using the wiring loom as shown on the video
Awesome video mate, was a great show!
Hi mate thanks for your video . do u have any idea what would happen to HONDA security system if you change ignition switch ( in terms of damage or so ) ? got same bike bought second handyignition switch and installed . ganna get someone in Perth to get my new key programmed using my original old key ( hopefully ) . problem is dash have no power and nothing electrical works on bike . already charged battery and fuse box checked .would appreciate any help . cheers. David
Dave Sh Hi Mate, Don't quote me but. I think the computer and the Key barrel work together and are synchronized. Also I think when those items are changed you would need an original key for the new barrel as well. You may notice there is a plastic round key sensor on the top of the key barrel that reads the chip in the key and send the info back to the ECU and then enables the fuel pump to turn on. If you change only the mechanical key barrel and keep the original sensor and key that was with your bike it may just work. you would just need to get a key re cut to suit the new barrel. Hope that helps. If you have no electrical working at all it may not be the ignition as that can be bypassed to just get ignition lights etc to come on. Check the earth strap that goes from the negative battery to the bolt behind the starter motor. Min was secure but bad contact and dependent on weather sometimes my dash would not come on and could not start the bike. I just cracked it off and re tightened it and then its worked awesome ever since. Hope that helps.
