The smell ain't great but it a good change of pace for this area. Haven't seen any other grass lakes around here either like this one so its a different look.

Ya but never any luck there except a few crappie. Was there a few weeks back and bass were blowing up on bait everywhere but couldn't get a bite.

Its the small bass chasing all the bait. You got to slow fish to find the biggins

3 years ago this place was on fire. Still has hogs especially in spring.

Try a little paddle tail swim bait on a swim jig head this time of year.

Can you explain how they ruined it? Im asking genuinely, I just started fishing there few weeks back and the bite in the mornings is great.

Ya a lot of time it's being in the right place at the right time. I fish this place all the time and don't get bit but its right around the corner so easy if I just have a short window of time to fish. Just need to walk the bank and find them. I tend to get a lot more catches on the west side of this lake then the east so need to walk to the better spots

They definitely are being taken. Wish we had catch and release at least on bass and other apex fish for sport fishing. I was surprised to see bass that good near the City.

No but haven't tried. I mainly just fish for bass with bigger lures. Trout have much smaller mouths so really need to downsize to inline spinners and small blades.

Cook County Forest preserve...needs to clear the "over gross" folage from the fishing banks. There is too much of it! Fishing Lines get tangled in this over gross/ and tall grass all around the bank.😢

I focus on bass but want to try salmon. Started buying some salmon gear but haven't had the ability to use yet. I have a small boat I want to get onto lake michigan but still needs work to make worthy for that. I just use is on smaller electrical only lakes right now

It's Arrowhead Lake. Nothing too big there but it's right around the corner from my place so easy to hit up quickly to get some fishing in

I'm allergic to fish and seafood, I don't eat it, but I like fishing, but unfortunately, I haven't found a good resource lake, so I haven't caught bass yet.

Ya the far side of the lake is the better side. I've gotten my best bass on that side for sure

@@dirtybassin Considering I am just starting out, I may not be the best person to answer. It was choppy last week and a lot of people were there. I only saw a single boat actually catching fish. I caught a fish no bigger than the shad lure I was using. I did see big bass jumping. I’d have a better opinion if I had a fish finder.

I've been able to get a few bite there recently on a swim jig. I've had luck on a 1/2oz swim jig head with a bluegill colored skirt and paddletail trailer. The bass have been tucked into the edge of the weeds by shore. With temps cooling off now the pattern might change but a swim jig has worked for me in bluegill or white

Thanks man. Been a tough year of fishing and didn't get out as much as I wanted but I got a few more videos coming and will definitely be stepping it up soon putting out more fishing content from around Chicago area.

Ya good all around outdoor activity spot too. This is one of my favorite spots to fish just needs more access from shore and it doesn't put out very big bass yet but I've seen a few decent ones. I'm putting out another video from here soon just need to finish editing

Papoose Lake can get a lot of pressure and busy without a lot of spots to fish from. Luckily there are a lot of lake in the area. If looking for another spot you could also check out Bullfrog Lake. Doesn't get as much pressure

Ya this year has been crazy. Last year you could catch them everywhere. This year I think the weather changed the pattern and it never really got going. The males even left the fry which I’ve never seen.

Thanks. When I was there this summer another boater said he lost a pike. Maybe it was a pickerel cause they look similar. I've seen what look to be huge shad. It could definitely be a great fishery, it has the size and depth. The bass aren't very big but you can definitely get numbers. It's just hard to fish from shore but great place to launch a boat.

For sure. I don't mind saying where I fish but I never thought bass that big existed anywhere near Chicago so when I found them I was shocked and want to keep them around for the future.

You where in the right spots. Those were the same spots from the video. Just hard to find this time of year. A lot of cover for them to hide in. Keep getting out there and you’ll find them

Have you ever tried the west quarry? Never threw anything there, but seems to be quite fishy.

The spot in this video got destroyed especially with the cutting down of the forest this year. Was flooded out the last two years. One of the best spots I ever had
