Newbie to the YTPC for the most part. Been enjoying not only the pipes and tobaccos but also the few whom I’ve had the pleasure of talking to.

Great video! There will always be change, but it's such a great group of people, so many great channels new and old. Some of my favorites are long gone, but for every 1 of those, theres 10 new ones that I enjoy. I'm always amazed at the kindness and generosity.

Being under the age of 80 and smoking a pipe, you got a like for being just a little different. My Dad was a cigarette smoker for nearly 60 years (took up the habit while in the US Army during WWII), but would smoke one of his 10 or 12 pipes he owned (and which I now keep as he has passed) once in a while. Perhaps during the cooler winter months, in future videos, you could wear a tweed jacket and cradle an over and under shotgun while a trusty gun dog frolicked about you. The smell of pipe smoke was much better than that of a cigarette.

Been enjoying pipe smoking since I was about 18 years old, I am now 70, so do the math. I have always enjoyed pipes for all the reasons you have mentioned. Burned up several pounds through the years and have also gotten quite a collection. A couple of years ago I noticed a small lump on the left side of my neck, So I had the doc look at it during my yearly physical. He suggested that I quit the pipe, but I blew him off knowing that they all frown on tobacco of any kind and I also though it was absurd. Also for a couple of years I noticed that the muscles in my left shoulder were quite tender and sore, but blew that off and just rolled with it. Well, a year or so ago I weened myself off the pipe (well almost) (I at least I cut way back) I now also enjoy a premium cigar now and then. And ya' know, that pain in my shoulder is almost gone! But, the neck lump is still there! Did pipe smoking cause this lump? Does anyone know for sure? I went as far as getting a cat scan and seeing a Specialist. But He even seemed baffled as to what it is. He said that it isn't lymphoma. Could it become cancerous? Who knows?? Any educated thoughts are welcome.........

I can relate, I was active in the ytpc 9-11 years ago. Now coming back after all those years most of the people I knew are gone, and now have to find new people to watch

Things were always better in the past It’s a psychological thing, me thinks 🤔😃

Demonetization of tobacco content made a lot of content creators stop. It funded their pipe and tobacco aquisitions, and justified their time spent on recording and editing. There was competition in those days. Without the monetary incentives, the competition is gone and the community is supportive. Newbies are supported and encouraged. The content is more casual on average, less time invested in production in general, but still great. It's not the same as it used to be. It will always change and evolve. We're connecting over a subject we love, because we love to connect. Great video! Thanks for putting this out there.

Indeed there are still too many channels-good ones-to watch ‘em all. Outside of God, the only thing constant in life is change. This community is no exception.

Awesome video! It’s not dying at all it’s just those that aren’t accepting of new presenting thinks it is 🤷‍♂️ the way people smoke a pipe is going to change over time as are people’s pallets. Especially those fresh to the flavors with a new perspective. I’ve heard some old channels make fun of us younger guys for tasting flavors in codger blends that they insist aren’t there because it’s just tobacco 🤷‍♂️ change will happen one way or another everything does.

You are right. It’s like life, only shorter. The older ones fade away & new ones come in. Lots of new ones so it’s definitely not dying, just changing a bit here & there. 👍😃

Most tobacco content nowadays can’t be monetized, with few exceptions (like the channels who everyone knows…), which for certain reasons YT insist on promoting aggressively. I absolutely hate advertisements and immediately unsubscribe people who have add on their videos, if by some mistake I’ve followed them…
