@3:25 Melted radius rod bushings were the cause of the 91 through 94 Ford Explorer tire separations and rollovers. Ford had a very thin walled PCV line that would soften up and open up a hole in the hose if the vehicle was not properly maintained and the oil changed regularly. This would create an extremely lean condition causing the catalytic converter to get cherry red. The converter was situated about an inch above the rubber radius rod bushing causing it to melt which caused changes to the geometry of the front end, resulting in separating the steel belts causing separation. The drastic changes of front-end angles could make the right wheel turn in violently causing a rollover. Ford knew the problem because they redesigned the bushings as time went on but never had a recall. They also designed a heat shield to protect the bushing.

This happened on the 1st generation Explorer and this video is showing current generation Explorers. Also, customers were not paying attention to the recommended tire pressures which did not help the issue. The Ford TTB was only on the 1st generation Explorer then changed to torsion bars and control arms then coil overs on later models.

Not news, caused by Ford instructing owners to under inflate their tire for better ride quality. Ford paid a fortune for it. Everybody alive at the time who saw any news knew about it.
