My first ever intro to classical music.Even the crackles are nostalgic.

I have heard all of Blasters stories so many times I could do a tribute act, What a man, I saw him at Cheltenham Town Hall in the 80's. We laughed until we cried.

Thank you for this, as it brings back memories of one of my first organ records that I bought when I was a boy. Each piece is a classic! This includes my favourite rendition of Buxtehude’s BuxWV 149, which is very thrilling, thanks to the legendary Lionel Rogg’s technical virtuosity on London’s RFH organ.

My Mum and Dad got this in 1974 ... I was 9 then, I played it over and over again ... I knew it all. OK its dated now ... but I came back to it for a little nostalgia!.

Had the pleasure of seeing Blaster at Doncaster Civic theatre a couple of times. Wonderful man, great entertainment and a generation sadly missed in the times of Kier Jong Un...

I remember listening to this album many years ago on Big Ben records, courtesy of our very straight accountant who had acquired some of his LP's. Also saw him live at the Beverley Playhouse. What a revelation, couldn't stop laughing. Good quality humour with only a smattering of light bad language. Alan Robinson.

Nelson Riddle was an extremely talented composer but his arrangements elevated his music and other composers works to a much higher level. Fantastic music and wonderfully enjoyable.🎼👍

Those of us with long memories will recall the religiose fruitiness of "Stars on Sunday", when normally-heathen stars on ITV assumed a Woolworths pick n' mix piety for an hour or so, on minimum wage thanks to Jess Yates' Godly power of persuasion. Best of all here is the fact that Yates (Paula Yates' assumed father) and Hughie Green (her actual father) nestle comfortably together on the cover. They despised one another, despite their professional association across several Yorkshire TV productions. Yates was embroiled in an affair with a young actress at the time of this album's release, only to have his dalliance exposed by Green. He was never seen dispensing pious inspiration at the "Stars on Sunday" organ ever again, although the show rolled on for several years thereafter.

Ormandy was a gifted interpreter of works across the symphonic spectrum. Columbia Records also released dozens of albums like this featuring shorter pieces. This collection clearly show he was Master of the Miniatures.
