#bus #breakdown #chingford So long story short, I was on a streetdeck on route 97 to go see a friend and broke down at Chingford Mount, luckily for me I needed to get another bus from here anyway, but the other passengers had to get off as well as the streetdeck could not continue the journey to Stratford City Bus Station and was taken out of service

So my time at Ponders End was short but I still caught a bit of everything, a few 720s one of which was a scheduled stop at Ponders End and a couple of 745s one of which was one of the Greater Anglia variants used on the GEML but today was running as Stansted Expres...

Crazy
This happened to me at Chingford Fire Station as well
Could be a overheating issue not too sure. Had something exactly like this happen on a streetdeck not in London, the driver continued but yea
You obviously dont own a car, there are road closures, temporary lights, lane closures, accidents, poor drivers and stupid pedestrians. Then the poor bus drivers have to deal with people like you posting ridiculous snitchy videos like this of repeated dry footage and people like your friend abusing them, the controllers try their best to keep buses frequent as possible, as per TFL rules. Blame the councils for allowing all the companies to dig up every road and then not turn back up to do the work for 2 weeks after.
100% he was an Indian bus driver that happens in Australia
Why are you blaming the bus driver. It's down to the control room and traffic is completely outside of their control. What do you expect, its the A406 OF COURSE there will be traffic. Its not like it is go ahead's fault, seriously man.
Because not everybody knows there's a control room. This is the first I'm reading about it.
@Roadent1241 He could've atleast found a different transport alternative. Maybe take an SL1 to Walthamstow and a 212 to chingford
@izanity9056 At least you know your options XD I would assume I'd have to fork out a grand or whatever for a taxi if I could find one.
@izanity9056 thats too long and ridiculous plus he couldve walked to corktree retail park which isnt that far and is in chingforr
I don’t think you ever heard of First/stgecoach I was waiting for a bus 70 which was run by first and then the bus came and I got on Next stop it said we were terminating here (it wasn’t the last stop and the bus said it was going to the last stop) Then the driver just stayed their and CHANGED TO ANOTHER ROUTE and picked up passengers and left Then a stagecoach bus with no logo came up and it said it was the 70 so I didn’t get in bc I thought it was a stagecoach bus Then ut drive of and turned the wrong damm way💀 And then I started to just walk And I kid you not the bus came right after I left but it wasn’t on schedule no no no no that would be too perfect This bus was 38 MINUTES LATE I was so confused what happened that i just stood there in shock
Typical go ahead
I would of catch a Uber
We don't have that here.
I use to be a bus driver on the 196, and we use to get told to curtail early all the time. The route was so long and every morning would get stuck in traffic in Norwood, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill and Stockwell which causes the bus to fall about 20/30 mins behind and bunch up. I always gave passengers an announcement but the driver has no control over Curtailing it’s all down to the control room and the individuals watching over the route.
Great video mate. Keep it up. I had a very slightly similar experience; I was travelling back to North Finchley once on a 263 which is my area and the bus broke down at Whetstone High Road and everyone was thrown off the bus, it meant to have gone to Highbury Barn. It was outrageous, the second 263 that came afterwards also curtailed at Whetstone due to late running and finally another one came with a destination going to my destination.
As soon as I heard go ahead I laughed 💀
you dont understand. im a bus driver and can explain
You're complaining about a situation out of everyone's control?
Hows ur sofa lil bro
Fella has a point about go ahead being shit
@@cam43002 Go away lad
@cam43002 but why blame the drivers for curtailments entirely out of their control?
@@herefordbuses when did I say anything about the drivers u mong
Had a similar experience yesterday on the 297. I decided not to let it get to me but I lost an hour of my life waiting at bus stops.
No point blaming the bus driver here or trying to flip them off. They are already abused by the general public, at the end of the day they are just doing their job to earn money for their family. They don’t deserve abuse. At the end of the day, the route is clearly running late due to traffic problems, the controllers have to control the situation to reduce the lateness, or to make sure that drivers don’t go over their legal driving hours, as well as having their break on time, and finishing their duty on time. Yes, it will be annoying that your bus was curtailed, but next time think more rationally and not get mad at the poor driver trying to do his job, and think of the overall picture.
Can we like....not blame driver? Im a driver myself, but not in london so ill assume its the same. We have absolutely 0 control on where the bus terminates mid-route. Thats down to the depot controllers if we're running late. We dont like kicking people off, but we gotta follow what we're told to do. Afaik london bus companies is like "do as your told and dont ask questions" type of thing. We do have driving hours to keep to and someone throwing a hissy fit by flipping us off would be the last of my concern. Just some education for you my freinds :)
Plus the A406 is notorious for curtailing.
Some drivers give others a bad name. Theres so many drivers atm who purposely take their time to drop parts of their route I’ve seen it first hand and then some drivers are absolutely brilliant and go above and beyond! It’s a shame really
I thought we did because they're the ones seen in charge? I'd get that as the only passenger at the end of the day I'd get left behind outside of school at 5:15 at night every day (school ended at 3:30, buses every two hours) and home is an hour away meaning I'd have to wait an extra two hours to get home, especially in the freezing cold or wet. I was the only one staying late because everybody else could walk home or drive or got picked up at decent times but no the buses often went past Out Of Service. Oh well, it was only disabled little me (hence why I can't learn to drive even a decade on) at the start and end of the day, why would they bother?
Try 279 it uses 1,000 buses and is 5 days long yet it's so unreliable
@@nimalflesh So true! The 279 being one of my locals, I see like 5 279’s at once and the majority of them are curtailed. The stretch between Seven Sisters and Ponders End is diabolical during the rush hour.
Could also be road closures due to fatal RTC or any natural causes or road works!
No one cares
The people stuck did. And to be fair this has taught a fair few of us that the drivers have higher ups that tell them what to do.
The W15 is another badly managed route operated by Go-Ahead.
this is why you should take the 230 / 123 instead of the 444
230 doesn’t go Chingford nor does 123
@ From Turnpike Lane to Edmonton
I think Go-ahead London should automatically loose the 444
Bro knows where i live☠️☠️💩💩
6:01 you make me laugh when u cuss 🤣 🤣 🤣

Screw 444 agreed
Was is not the same as were.
Long story short. It's the A406.... Anyone who lives in London knows that there's never ending traffic on the A406. The Control room tells the Bus Drivers to Terminate/Curtail early at certain points, to regulate the services going in the opposite direction. Otherwise there wouldn't be a service at all. Don't blame the Drivers or the company. Blame traffic and the control room in TFL for handling it poorly... I understand your anger, but don't direct it at the wrong people like a child...
Tell them again 🙌🏾
@@azeemahmed5084 🙏🏾
well... not exactly, yes the driver is following instructions but the curtailments are controlled by go-ahead not TFL
@@thegamingtribunal Ok.
What do you mean 'like a child'? If you don't know any different, who else is it supposed to be directed at? Yes I assumed the drivers made the decisions.
ARE YOU NUTS BUSDRIVER? WHY DON'T STOP CANCELING IT, GET ON WITH IT AND STAY ON PATIENCE TO KEEP GOING ON THE JOURNEY. WHAT MATTER WITH THIS, MATE?!! -_-
the A406, if they weren't curtailing to keep the next bus on track, there wouldn't be a service at all
the curtailment seems to be a breakdown, and the first one was a limp, look at the rear axle of SEe3, compare it with SEe4, it seems abnormally higher
True it looks unhealthy
Yeah I was thinking the wheel was a bit weird
I mean i it the 444 so...
this is relatable to the 414 since it curtails to fulham broadway a lot with NO WARNING JUST ROLLS UP TO THE BUS STOP AND SAY THIS BUS TERMINATES HERE
Goes via every busy route every, makes sense
@@Lx11awu_studios it follows 14 95 percent of the time
@@Westlondontransportguy7045 14 is packed already
Mass transit is better they said. Get rid of your car they said. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Still better than waiting over 10 mins for the bus home for it to show up with a destination on the front that you weren't told about, because driving 4 extra stops is so difficult...
why did the bus curtail?
BECAUSE OF THIS IS REALLY NUTS!
That's why A406 is the worst road ever
Agreed
lol
Apologies, I did get a couple numbers wrong in this video (Battle of Britain Memorial) is 91110
Cool video
Nice video of trains at Ponders End,
Yh it’s a good bus but certain connections are bad, for example the 169 and el bus always gets packed from Ilford as people are tryna go to places in Ilford lane, it would be nice if they added a stop in Ilford lane to alleviate congestion from those 2 buses, not only that this bus is a big step for connecting east and south east London as it’s now easier to travel from south east London to further parts of east London with a bus direct from Woolwich to Ilford( foot tunnel)
hello
It would be nice express service Wembley stadium station to Brentford County Court running side 92 & 195 i hape khan does it meet up SL8 at Ealing hospital on Uxbridge Road but not go in side off hospital running in peak 15mins off peak runs 30mins i say give go ?
