Not a professional channel, just my personal home videos. I upload absolutely everything I shoot, 99% just raw footage.
"Raw footage" = unedited video. I only remove egregious errors.
"Vlog"= edited and might have explainers/narration attached in some way.
UA-cam by default filters comments it thinks is inappropriate content, so if it blocks, it blocks. I don't really pay attention to it. If your comment is not there, blame UA-cam.

NYC Nostalgia train, "free" admission (after you pay for a normal subway ride). Also, 2014 was the Transit museum's first swing event after the big dance weekend on the nostalgia train. After the last nostalgia train ride in public, those who had a ticket could stay on and ride the train to the museum. I knew how to dance back then so I went. Lots of old familiar faces, dancers. This sticks out...

as it says in the title: "collegiate shag demo". "Midsummer night swing' is the name of a nightly program that features swing, blues, jazz, salsa, anything. check out their schedule for all the types of music offerings.
I was one of the lucky ones to escape before they shut the roads down. I don't remember much about that time in my life anymore sadly except for the most cringe moments, lol. I was practically a different person then.

Pershing square has a fare gate, i can't count it according to my rules. The closest free one to that location is at 12:07
This is known as The Gorge. I swam a few times in the pool under the waterfall back circa 1982-1986. I think there was a small cave under there too, only big enough for 1-2 people. I heard that you should not go down further than the pool as there could be old barb wire from the barb wire factory in the water.
I heard recently that someone passed away while swimming there. No swimming is the rule.

Thanks for the great walkthrough! If you already watched the previous video, the new footage is at 5:50. The other "new" entrance is the corner of the Hyatt but there's no footage for that.
I mention and point the camera at it at 0:56 but I don't walk in it because I think it's a dumb entrance. It's a long, extra effort way to get into the building that is totally not worth it unless it's raining hard or something and you happen to be near it. I also pointed it out at the last video but didn't count it as a real entrance because of how bad it is. I originally was going to include it in the first video but when I walked it the first time I regretted walking through it.

OMG finally after watching so many vids from yesterday’s event, I finally found myself at 7:48.
Oh god, you even caught the moment someone bumped into me and part of my V hook fell off. xd Was a bit annoying having to carry the wand fully. Shoutout to the female cosplayer who noticed the V hook came off and picked it up for me .

I remember you, aside from the friends I went to the con with, you're the only person I met that I actually remember from this con. On Friday my friends and I were eating at McDonald's before the con started and you were there too, in cosplay, and started talking to me out of the blue. You even sat next to us I think.

I worked as a public safety lead that year... we stayed as did tech crew. I remember the hotel running out of food, but staff-suite had left us their sandwich makings, so we shared with the 🎉attendees. Not the hardest Katsu, but it definitely was the longest :)
Ah yes. Katsu 9.1. I remember the false fire alarms that kept going off. We eventually decided we'd rather burn than freeze and stopped going out. The McDonald's down the street was out of almost everything, the hotel's bagel selection was down to everything bagels only. We couldn’t get one of our friends home 15 miles north until plows came through her neighborhood Tuesday, so we all stayed.
Katsnowcon! I’m having some wild flashbacks. My bf and I got pulled over trying to go home at like midnight cause I was 16 and my parents thought I’d be safer driving than being with these badass nerds for another day. Made so many incredible friends that weekend, including many I still talk to (and at least one who has also commented in here already)
I remember this well! It’s where I met a lot of my long time friends.
Some of the makeshift programming we came up with to keep people entertained on Sunday night was provided by Rikki Simons (the voice of Gir on invader Zim) He brought a couple of as of yet unaired episodes and we had a screening in one of the programming rooms

Staffing that year was surreal as the hotel begged us to come up with programming to keep people occupied on Sunday night and throughout the day on Monday. Idle attendees would have led to property damage.
I remember people being awake super late, like people having get-togethers in the hallways and I vaguely remember something resembling an artist alley popping up somewhere. Didn't the hotel provide some snacks at some point? my memory is super hazy about this

honestly i am not sure where these photos came from. I know I took some of them but definitely not all of them. I know back then friends would send you pictures they found or took, but also i don't know if they ganked them off someone else's website or anything. I only recognize about 4-5 of the people here.
Hahaha I was there! That Monday of "extra con" was surreal.
do you remember if anything was going on monday, like did they open the dealers room again or something? I remember buying a shirt late into sunday night because i had run out of clothes.
Our group had a huge room party Friday night with a ton of party supplies but by Sunday night our party room was more like a Refugee camp, giving out crash space and drinks/snacks to anyone who came by. I remember the hotel was starting to run out of food too. I was working guest relations for the con that year and when the weather started to clear on Monday, I remember us taking all the guest on a shuttle bus to the nearby theater to entertain them until all of their flights could be rescheduled. We saw daredevil 😂
wow really? when i woke up monday i remember seeing a sign that said i-95 south open and that was early morning, so we decided to risk it and left. I had to get to work by 3 in richmond. Did the hotel pay for the shuttle? how did that all work?

@@Brad-D that's cool, i always wondered what happened to everyone else after I left. When i started putting my photos on youtube and saw these, I was seriously considering doing one of those youtube documentaries (not that i've ever done one of those) about this con because there's just no info about it, and I couldn't find anyone talking about it with google. We only had livejournal back then, no social media, barely any digital cameras, the whole thing is lost to time. That's the reason I just l left the idea by the wayside, i didn't think anyone would see this.
Simpler times when our community was so much smaller and closer knit!!

these are 20+ year old animes so if you don't recognize characters it's cuz they are old. I didn't know who half of characters were when i took the photos. also i am not sure that they are all mine, might be friends' photos too
@tankueytryn 0 seconds ago Cool stone couch @ 4:43... The base is much older than the top coping. It looks like they added blocks at one point (at least) to raise the seat to accommodate sinking or from adding additional layers over the years.... Just imagine all the arses that sat there. Reply
What do you use to film?
Feiyu pocket 2. I don't recommend it as I bought it only because walmart accidentally marked it at $40 even though it's a $300+ camera. It's not bad, but it's my main camera now because my gopro broke. But frankly I am in the market for something new as this one does fine but is a bit janky and difficult sometimes. I think if you can get it for half price I would say go for it. But not full price. The best part of it is the built in gimbal. Image quality is far below gopro, but I process my footage to be brighter and sharper in Premiere before I upload.

next time you end up at that airport you should go over and look at it. Just enter it through the baggage claim area via that elevator at the end of the video, it's more amazing than you can see on pictures
