I have an error when automatically connecting slots with qp tools (no matching or available sockets found for linking). Even when I try to do it in the example scene (blender 4.2.1)
Hi ! What are the steps you are doing for the linking ? The linking will try to the active node (or last one selected). If you select more than 2 nodes, it will link them in order of selection

Thanks a lot ! I use DrawTerrain and DrawScatter in this one. These are addons I created and can't live without now ! You can check them on BlenderMarket and Gumroad. I made a bundle as well with TextureBlender which is another product I made for layering shading
It's a very good add-on for this price. Need more tutorial videos. I want to ask something. I think we need to bake the texture we made in order to use it in the game engine right?
@@Perrymans thanks so much! Yes I'd need to do small breakdown. It takes a lot of time on to of development 😅. For baking, yes! But the advantage is that you can bake directly the outputs of your last texture blend node as they are correctly blended. (if you use procedural mapping you'd need to make UVs still)

@@MrRollinmohawk yes! This will be part of DrawTerrain V02. It's the new workflow update I'm working on right now. It'll come with a lot of height maps and I'll provide the gaea file template for you to create your own!

hi, this add-on is great, would it be possible to add an option to add a custom texture into the "mask breakup" node? i know you can go into the node and change them manually but having this option would be great!
@@tombaxter3661 thanks a lot! I've been thinking about it. I don't know how to implement this yet. Initially I would have loved to have a script to help people build their own, with their favorite maps etc. I need to investigate more if there's demand for that!

Hey! Great tool! I’ll purchase both. I need to create 2 environments with some architectural elements. Can I bake textures for those PBR objects?
@@marcesmack baking textures with draw terrain? It depends how you make you material, if you're referring to Texture Blender, the way it works it meant to ease the process of baking because you're working with the textures, so the output of your texture blends are bakable with just the last outputs!

Great tool! I have one little issue. When I try to scatter object from botaniq asset library, the scattered objects are shown without textures. And this happens even when I convert it to editable mesh using their add-on and get rid of the empty. It is obviously not a problem with your add-on, but some object data that is bound to the asset, but it's bugging me that I can't solve this. The thing is, GeoScatter scatters botaniq assets with no problems (I don't even have to convert them). So that's maybe an idea for a future update. But do you know what could be causing this?
@@minozemstan I actually solved the issue with this version. And yeah it has to do with some attributes and object data that can't transfer properly in some cases. If you need an update quickly, send me an email from where you bought DrawScatter and I'll send you the updated version. Otherwise, it should be out next week I think! Thanks for getting the tool! And sorry about this issue! DrawScatter and Proxy Maker will allow you to work with Botaniq assets again in the new version

I saw DrawTerrain highlighted on one of the YoutTube channels (AskNK, I think) .. checked it out on Blender Market and ended up buying your whole suite of tools. Nice work, putting it to use now building an ancient Chinese pagoda and temple complex from reference images ... Will happily show results when I am done.

Just bought it. Could you do a quick tutorial how to use? The gifs on the site are helpful but it would be nice to see a little more. Also, the proxy modifier is giving strange results. Could you explain how to use it? Thanks!
Thanks for getting DrawScatter! A tutorial is definitely on the way, it has been delayed because I just moved to a new country, and the process has been complicated. But as soon as I can record and edit the tutorial I will be uploading it! There is also a massive update to the tools and new modifiers on the way that I will tease/showcase. Haha thanks so much! I won't add an erosion setup because it would make the tool so heavy to use, and for poor results compared to what Gaea proposes. I've actually included Gaea in the workflow, check at 49:00 where I show how you can combine the 2 to get the best of both worlds !
Okay I said I wouldn't, but I changed my mind haha. I'm investigating an extra modifier to erode your terrain after the sketch part as a final touch up
Amazing. Is there any chance to bake the entire thing including materials for export and usage in other Software? Say I want to use Blender and DrawTerrain to create the landscape and then export into C4D or Houdini for further editing/rendering?
@@CA-kg3vc thanks a lot! Regarding baking, you can just apply the modifier to get the actual geometry. Otherwise you can bake the height map from the Utility Mask node. And then use it in another software, like I am showing for gaea at some point in the tutorial. For the materials you can bake then after you apply the modifier more easily with the method of your choice as it all depends on what method of shading you use

Wow this is cool, I like how it gives you control via curves, seems much easier. Is there any kind of way to help optimize for slower computers? Mine always starts to lag when I try running a scatter addon using detailed assets like this.
@@JacobHalton yes! This is already quite optimized in itself using instances, but if your computer is struggling. I also made a proxy maker modifier that goes hand in hand with the scatter and array. It has 2 modes, delete points made more for foliage and convex hull for solid objects. It'll show a proxy in your viewport while having a quite accurate representation of your mesh and replace it when you make the render.

These looks so cool. Are the materials generated? If so how so? How does it know you wanted a road for example?
Thanks a lot! The materials are made from textures from a mix of websites, Polyhaven, AmbiantCG etc (all C00). And mapped thanks to some masks created by DrawTerrain like the slope, height, the Curves UVs etc. For the road, you can add another DrawTerrain modifier and draw a curve for your road, then you can isolate the curve influence to map the material only where your road is. I have a tutorial cooking (release very soon!) where I explain how to handle all this. Also, all these are part of presets you can import in your scene, and the actual files are what you see there, so you can analyze and see how they are made!

Can this add on be used in blender 3.6?
Hi ! Unfortunately only part of it work. All the node groups are functional (the Untiler gives slightly different result because the noise texture changed in 4.0). But the decal projector and the QP_Tool addon don't work as Geometry node changed a lot since 3.6, and some of the Blender API changed in python so the addon is missing modules.
