My completely subjective take on things that look (or don't look) interesting TO ME is wrong? I'm not calling CRPG's slop, I'm saying I can't tell them (or many modern fantasy games) apart from any of their peers, that's what feels sloppy. I'm sure the game will be fun for people who like the genre, it's just not for me. Baldur's Gate 3 is supposedly amazing and I haven't played it yet because the art style and gameplay just don't do it for me. And you're absolutely right about (a lot of) FPS's looking the same, I hate that too. I hate when any games, even if it's in a genre I love like fighting games or action adventure games, look visually indistinguishable from one another. My whole point about all of this, is that I want more games to have bold and unique art styles.

As far as I understand it, to Any% a game is just getting to the end credits! And you're right, getting all those cards is no joke

It's an unsung masterpiece for sure! And yes I briefly played Second Attack a looong time ago (emulated) but I really want to track down a cart and play it for real! I apparently just need to hit the lottery first, sheesh.

@@theEXPpoint i have no idea how i got a copy of the game. think my uncle bought it then let me play it. fun fact: second attack received only a single ad...and it was in a nintendo power magazine. also its a game that Naoki Yoshida aka Yoshi P of Final Fantasy 14 worked on...explains why the game feels like a FF x Bomberman crossover.

Good point! It's refreshing to see heavier themes presented in media, they can't be glossed over all the time. Dragon Prince does this as well, though admittedly we've only seen the first season! Does it get better as it goes on?
