the torq is much lower. like 5ft lb. I made same mistake & now have to tap the holes
would help had u posted the part number of the stud u used.
Ive heard you have to turn the engine using a wrench on the harmonic balancer to get the valves at their lowest point and then tighten those rockers, then turn the engine, tighten the next rockers, etc. is this true? Is this why the bolts stripped in the first place? (Im here because I have the same problem! About to helicoil them, until i saw your video.
Same here they told me the same thing
4.9.24. ✅ Lisle 48300 Pushrod removal tool, so you don’t need to loosen up the Rocker arm bolts. ⚠️If you don’t utilize this tool, then yes, you really need to turn the crankshaft so each cylinder you’re going to loosen the rocker arms bolt to enable you to take out the pushrods, so you do not risk stripping the aluminum threads in the head‼️ If you do have stripped out threads in the head for the rocker arm bolts, Time-Sert®️ makes two kits: Part# 1812CORE for M8 x 1.25 bolt thread & Part# 1015CORE for M10 x 1.5 bolt thread. If you need to repair, even one rocker arm bolt threads in the aluminum head, you may as well do them all🆘
This makes so much sense I don't know how this hasn't been picked up by other mechanics. What length of stud did you use?
I used around a 80-85mm carbon steel stud.
I said pound per sq inch several times. Please note that I meant foot-pounds
