I used Amsoil synthetic dirtbike transmission oil. I also use Amsoil dominator premix at 50:1
How to winterize or store your small engines
Переглядів 1292 роки тому
If the equipment will be stored for a long period of time, change the engine oil as well. I used Amsoil fogging oil (safe for 2 and 4 strokes) and stabil 360 marine. The 360 marine has a lubricant property that keeps carburetor gaskets and Diaphragms from drying out and cracking.

    Do yz250f use transmission oil?

  • @paulocampos6052
    @paulocampos6052 Рік тому

    FYI, the reason you SHOULD only fill up to where it starts to come out of the hole is because you can never remove all the old oil from inside, so if you fill it to 750, plus whatever is left in there, you are over filling it. Yamaha engineers know more than all of us and that hole was designed for a reason, telling people to ignore it is irresponsible since you don't understand the reasons behind it. Just some advice, apart from that good video

      Never had an issue filling this way. I’ve seen damage from people under filling using the check bolt

      @@benselby6171 same, I never used the side overfill bolt and been running yz250's for 25 years and never had an issue. I change the oil same as you.

      Should be, just check on the side cover to see how much oil it takes. I recommend shell rotella (t4) or yamalube

    Definitely glad I watched this video thank you so much! I was only putting oil till it came out the side glad I only drove it up the street after and that’s it.

    I’m 14 about 190 pounds and like 5,10 would this be a good bike for me I ride trails btw.

    • @benselby6171
      @benselby6171 3 роки тому

      Yes, I ride trails as well. I’m 14 5,5 120 pounds and I still fit. I just had to cut the seat foam down a little. If this is your first 2 stroke I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe a 125 would be better. But if u rode 2 strokes before this is a great bike. I switched from an 85 to this bike.

    That Max 6x6 thing is kinda like an Argo, eh ? My dad used to work on Argos... I've ridden them a few times. Pretty fun depending on where you use them. Pretty tough riding a KX85 through slow, rough terrain like that eh. I used to have a RM 80 when I was much younger. They don't have a lot of down low grunt.

    • @benselby6171
      @benselby6171 3 роки тому

      Yea the max is like an Argo, just easier and cheaper to work on. The kx85 has no low end power lol it sucks going through slow terrain
