The word translated "life" in Romans 5:10 is ζωή (zōē) and its usage in the New Testament is often used of our transcendent life in Christ. Other words like ψυχή (psychē) and βίος (bios) tend to focus more on one's physical life. I agree with you guys, in this context "life" is meant to make us think of Jesus' resurrection and our corresponding hope.

Take a closer look at the Greek behind “bread” in Acts 2:42 and 2:46. They are from the same Greek lemma. I think your comments were intended to be about “bread” versus “food” in the NKJV.
