07-13 GMC Sierra Silverado Sunroof Leak Fix Repair
GMC Sierra Chevrolet Silverado sun roof leak fix, repair. If you have water stains or water in your headliner this might help you find the source of the leak. I had water pouring out of my headliner at the A piller, out of the interior temperature sensor, by the seatbelt return and in the back C piller seat belt area.

Do you happen to know the part number for that plastic tray?
Sorry I do not.
I wish you had showed how you molded the duct seal into the "channel" mines a sticky mess so I have no clue "what" I'm supposed to be sealing off from "where"
There’s an obvious groove location where it needs to seal and there should also be residue of the factory sealant.
Do I need to worry about the air bags.
Disconnect your negative battery terminal if you’re concerned about that but no, you’re not touching anything that would trigger them.
Super helpful. Thank you for putting this together!
So why would that fix the leak in front by the sun visor?
Because it leaks down onto the headliner and flows forward along the headliner until it finds an opening to leak out of.
I had the classic leaking at the sun visor on 2015 Sierra, and initially I attack the shark fin antenna. But I continued to have a leak so I pulled down more headline for better access and saw a drip forming on the front end of my sunroof track. It has no hope of stopping water where it is leaking, and I am surprised it took so long to show up. So the water, whether coming from the shark fin (very common) or the sunroof, it seem to follow the same conture path in the headliner and shows up at the same location. Bad design GMC! But I am sure every manufacturer has its failures that they seem to not give a rats ass to rectify/redesign.
Yes it has held up well and hasn’t leaked since this repair. Glad it’s helped someone out!
How is the caulking holding up?
holding up great. no new leaks.
Duct seal does not harden outdoors etc. I have used it extensively.
How did it work
yes. no leaks since.
Thanks my friend. I just finished repairing my Sunroof but i used Flex seal as the sealant and it worked fantastic as long as you take your time and "seat " that black clip into the channel or it will pop out as i figured that the hard way.I also ordered a new SEAL and will install when it arrives in a few days.@@craigcameron770
Did it work?
good post I am having the same issue. I am using 3M caulking (waterproof) to see if that works.
