Bikepacking The Dark Peak.
Hello again. I'm back, this time with a video about a recent overnighter I did in The Peak District. Starting at Langsett, then across to Edale via The Derwent Valley. Then up Chapel Gate before looping back towards Hayfield following The Pennine Bridalway. I slept on a commercial campsite as I couldn't find anywhere to wildcamp (the fells around Hayfield were either too steep or boggy, sadly!).
The next morning I continued to follow the PBR across Lantern Pike towards Glossop, before riding up the rail trail up Longendale, and back to Langsett.
It was a great ride, and. it was so nice to ride some of those trails again, and explore some new ones too. The Dark Peak has a special beauty all of its own, and the trails are rugged, technical and steep!
I hope you enjoy the film, and I hope might inspire you to get out yourself and explore a little, whether by bike or by foot. Thanks for watching, and special thanks to my subscribers.

A fun two night bikepacking trip to The Elan Valley, and my first ever visit to Strata Florida. As the saying goes: Wales never fails..... I hope you enjoy my video. Thanks for watching, and special thanks to my subscribers. See you on the next one!
Chippy Run: Part Two. The Return Journey. Bikepacking Through the Cambrian Mountains
Переглядів 593 місяці тому
Welcome to part two of my bikepacking adventure. This video is the return journey through The Cambrian Mountains, where I get wet, lost, and bullied by more cows. It's all part of the adventure, innit? (Or at least that what I tell myself to stop myself from crying on a remote, windswept hillside somewhere). If you liked my video, please give it a like, There are more adventures to come, so ple...

First Ever Bike Packing Trip. Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains
Переглядів 2695 місяців тому
Join me on my first ever bike packing trip in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. This is also my first ever upload to UA-cam, so please be kind. I don't have any fancy cameras so all shot on my iPhone. Apologies that there isn't an ending as such to my video, as my phone died! I have some more trips planned over the summer, so if you like what you see, please like and subscribe. ...

Took me back a bit you riding up to the Claerwen. Dossed the night in the toilet there with my dear late twin brother Paul before hiking the river Irfon to the Wye at Builth. A nice surprise you being at the Elan confluence there. The outback route was epic. Well, all the best for the week ahead. Just subbed on account of the good rides. Mark

Cheers Mark, much appreciated. Not had to kip in a toilet yet, but im sure my time will come! We are super lucky to have all of this relatively on our doorsteps. Had a bit of a time this year with an ill dad and a poorly cat, so not been out as much as I wanted but thats life.

@@LostandMeandering A pleasure. No, toilets aren't often used as a bothy but it was soaking wet and the first day of our 4 day hike and we wanted to keep our kit dry - it worked because it was glorious the next day. Sorry to hear of the trials - I know them personally too. Hope you manage to get out there. Peace.

Not sure if you know the area, but there aren't many resupply options. A good shop in the morning, and a pub in the afternoon/evening. So take plenty of food, and its best to be able to filter your own water

@@LostandMeandering cheers, are you on any other socials? Is The section between Beulah and Rhayader any good? If I do the route it might be a section I miss out so was wondering what it’s like. Thanks

@@jamesdavies4745 I've not set up any socials for my channel as its still pretty small. If I was to do this ride again, I'd miss that last section, and head over towards Newbridge-On-Wye, as there is a by-way that follows the Wye back up to Rhyader. (disclaimer: not ridden it, but the I way went in the video was boggy, and I got covered in sheep shit on the decent!)

@LostandMeandering Thanks mate. Yesterday I was camping at Llyn y fan fach. I camped at the lake. I had loads planned to do there but it rained. I left at 7am this morning. Going back in the next few days to finish the video. My older vids had no comments, have a look😁 I would watch others but not comment too. If you watch someones video say hi, someone else will probably at some point click on yours also. I check my watch times and a 10 minute vid has about 4 minutes average watch time, some watch full others 1 minute. I try to keep the time short because I know they just wouldn't watch a long video of mine. Keep going 💪 comment on other bikers and hikers and watch out for the cows😁👋

@@JamieHarding5 Dunno, I tried doing two shorter videos and the second one didnt do as well. Most bikepacking videos seem to be around. 25-40 minute length. Im not really doing this for likes and subs, tho. Ignore so I have adore of the adventures I have done.

@LostandMeandering That's good I started exactly the same. Now I hope one day to earn a few £ to cover my petrol that's it's for me, I'd like to cover my costs that's it. I don't know much about cycling vids, like you said people might prefer longer👍 keep sharing. Memories are stored for you and friends🫡

Thanks for your kind words. I must have watched EVERY bike packing video on UA-cam over the last year, and figured out exactly what I would need, and forgot about everything else. It's surprising how small you can pack things down, and I made sure I carried only essentials. Once I have. a few more trips under my belt, I'll do a pack video.

@LostandMeandering.-fo9zx Sounds good. I'll follow your journey now. My vids are much shorter than yours. I've noticed people don't watch a full vid, so I try pack as much in a short time. There's a nice place for you to go on your bike Grwyne Fawr Bothy. I've been there twice, once for a few hours, one overnight. There's a bike one on there. For your channel to grow, make vids, comment on others. People are curious, they read comments and will click on your channel. It helps. Keep going 💪 I'm pretty new and learning myself and having fun. Liked and subbed👋
