Why is the syringe so short?

I have massive shoulders as i weigh 310 pounds and have solid beefy shoulders. It is my most promenate feature. I was told it is better to get the needle in musscle over fat. So i think i will go 3 fingers down from the side of the shoulder bone. I have not taken testosterine for 37 years when i was 20. Back then i put it in the lower outer glute away from the ciatic nerve.

After doing this for a year, I recently hit a vessel and didn’t realize it until after the injection when I removed the needle. Thankfully it mostly poured out with the blood… is there a way to avoid this? I’m nervous now 🫤

I see there are a couple of 1 year ago posts, as well as an 8 month ago post, so I'm hoping my comment will still be seen. This is October 25, 2024, about 7 years after this video was posted. I am a 61 year old male with several symptoms that could be attributed to low test. I went to a local clinic that is run by a doctor, where they do blood tests every 6 weeks to monitor your test level, your estrogen level, and check your PSA (prostate) as well. There is a monthly fee that covers the following; all blood tests, injection syringes with a 25 gauge needle, as well as 21 gauge test draw needles, alcohol swabs, and a Sharps container to dispose of the used syringes and needles. They continuously monitor my estrogen, and Anastrozole tablets are also included in the monthly fee. My estrogen level was low after my first 6 week blood test, and this means I only take 1/4 of a tablet with every other weekly shot. My initial test level was about 290, and after my first 6 weeks of injecting .75ml of test cypionate once a week, my test level was over 1,000. However, as I mentioned, my estrogen was low, about 16, and I was told they try to keep it in the 50 to 60 range. So, I am still working on my estrogen level, and my test level is right where it needs to be. I was told once my estrogen gets to the 50 to 60 range, I will really notice a difference in how I'm feeling, so I'm looking forward to that.

Why didn’t he pull back on the syringe before injecting? There’s a 1-in-10 chance of injecting in a vein. You have to check before you inject

I’ve found that the secret to injecting yourself is that you have to be smarter than the syringe and needle. I’ve been injecting Cipionate weekly for 15 years without issue. It’s never fun however the benefits outweigh the risk of abstinence. I’m a 3 tour Vietnam combat veteran. Believe me when I say that there are worse things in life than sticking a needle in your leg.

30g needle goes in unnoticed. However it takes so much pressure to press the syringe, that it tends to move the needle while injected, causing weeks of muscle soreness.

A 30g needle is quite thin, they should have injected Testosterone instead of B-12 in their demonstration, as Testosterone is in a thick oil, and B-12 is water based-injecting them is very different when using a small gauge needle.

I did my first testosterone shot at home today but forgot to take off needle I used to suck up the testosterone & put on the other one for injection. So I injected the testosterone in my thigh with the same needle I used to suck it up with. Question is there a problem?

What about pulling back on the needle to make sure that you’re not in a blood vessel?

Isn’t that kind of a small needle? I draw with an 18 gauge as well. But inject with a 23 gauge that is an inch long. Will such a short needle still get deep into the muscle? Or is subQ sufficient enough?

I was only given one type of needle, no drawing needle
