How to Fix Golfer's Elbow: Physical Therapy Tips for Fast Recovery

In this video Jin Kang, a skilled orthopedic physical therapist reviews Golfer's Elbow (also referred to as Medial Epicondylitis) and explains the general physical therapy timeline and expectations for recovery. Medial Epicondylitis is caused by inflammation in the wrist flexor tendon that attaches to the medial epicondyle, often times due to repetitive loading/use of the tendon.
The recovery and physical therapy can be categorized into 3 stages.
1) Pain and inflammation control
2) Manual thereapy

    I'm happy I looked up this brand. I'm 69 here; over the past 3 years, I've been going to vascular doctors who clued veins for better circulation. IF A VASCULAR DOCTOR EVER TELLS YOU THEY ARE GOING TO CLUE VEINS, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! Currently seeing a vein doctor, not a vascular, who has been fixing what the cluing did. My legs have been swollen since, and wearing compression socks is a real pain in the butt. My gym had a Normatec demonstration yesterday, and I went through one treatment, 20 minutes, and OMG!!! What a difference. ONE session, and here I am the next morning; the difference is utterly amazing. My ankles, swallow for two years, GONE! Almost back to normal. Reading through, it appears I will have to consider this particular product; the "leaking of air" could be an issue if you cannot patch the hissing.

    My real-life review from an unpaid consumer: Paid $799 for Normatec 3 from Best Buy. Tried them 2x. Found the compression 3/10. Heard a hissing sound. The Air Leak light came on. Returned them in 3 days. Felt like this brand is a scam. Buyer Beware.

    If cortisol is catabolic, how is optimizing/increasing it good? Should we not be trying to decrease cortisol? Are you trying to say high volume and short rest periods increase or decrease cortisol?

    Salary isn't very high, but that doesn't seem to be the main issue, in my opinion. Seems like the the student loans that seem to be the biggest issue financially. Maybe consider taking a job in a rural area for the gov't for 2-4 years and have them pay off your loans.

    Your conclusions make no sense. "There's no evidence that it works, but if you're a serious athlete, you can try." That makes no sense. If you're a serious athlete, why gamble on shit that there's no evidence for? In fact, the only evidence there is for compression boots is for those in convalescence and lack mobility to avoid blood clots.

    A super important consideration is the lack of growth in income. There is no performance based increase in income at all because the bottom line is every person with a license makes the company the same money. Unless you have the desire and financials to open your own practice or do extra side ventures, your income will not be keeping up with inflation. It just will not be easy to support a family with this amount of loans combined with inflation and the stagnation of wages .

    As a senior (76 yr old) with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, I have the option of using the Normatec compression boots twice a month after my three weekly sessions with Osteo Strong. Increasing circulation and decreasing inflammation seem like a positive benefit. Sounds like you work with athletes but do you have any pro or con advice for me. I was given a sheet of indications and conditions, FDA-Cleared Treatment, and Contraindications for Normative Pneumatic Compression for my cardiologist to give the okay.

    Thank you for the video. I am 68 years old and suffer from hip and leg pain. I have been in construction work since I was 18. I have been going to Thai massage therapist for a couple of months to work on my lower half. She says that My hips are tilted slightly, leg muscles are tight and not flexible and has given me exercises to do along with my weekly massage. She had suggested that I might also benifit from sompression boots in between massages. Your thoughts for use in elderly adults trying to increase mobility using these compression boots?       I'm 3 years into construction with plenty go physical injuries even prior to entering the trades. Age 38. The hyperice equipment ( I bought legs, hips & arm attachments) definitely help my body recover and refresh. Worth the money.

    I have tried everything. used to have a terrible hunch back from years of computer. the quickest and most effective way to fix it: pull ups. couldn’t do one when i first started but slowly worked my way to 1, then 5, and 10, etc. posture fixed itself after the first 1-2 pull ups. not chin ups, make sure you do actual pull ups. look up correct form. these resistance band and stretch excersizes you see on here help for 5 minutes lol.

    just wanna mention that the intrafusal muscle fibers is a part of the muscle spindle that can keep the integrity (still sensitive) under fast contraction condition. They are not the same thing and intrafusal muscle fibers, as the name suggest is not a sensor as well.

    Man I guess I’ll be labeled a hatter for speaking on it. But fuck that I call bullshit . so any QB in that game in that position would have lost it if they couldn’t come back and play. He didn’t show any signs of wanting to play . He didn’t even pretend like he was hurt or noting after contact. He knew he turned it over and got scared. Idk I don’t see someone getting injured with that encounter . Even the. They rather get dragged out . He walked to coach and was like I’m scared .

    Hi Dr , can I ask a question about the role of hips in a knee injury like miniscus tear?, there is a UA-cam channel called El Paso manual therapy and according to him , the tears occur because of huge thighs muscles and because the person was thighs dominant rather than glutes dominant, he says after a miniscus tear if you continue to strengthen the thighs it will put more pressure on your knee rather than taking the pressure off of it , and he says you need glute muscles to take pressure of your miniscus and knee.... What's your take about this ? I myself has torn my miniscus grade 3 just a week ago and I am 17 yrs old and did a lot of research to know what caused my knee to do so , and yeah it was non contact. Please take this into consideration if you have time, thankss
