How To understand/work the thermocline to catch Crappie

This video keys on How to understand, locate and utilize the Thermocline to help you catch more crappie in the dog days of summer. To let you know we don’t have to fish deep for them just because it’s 95℉. They’re not always running for the deep cooler water. #crappiefishing, #thermocline, #livescope, #summercrappiefishing
Son On Navy Leave Part #2

This is Part 2 of fishing and having fun with my son Jarren who’s home on Navy leave since it’s been over a year since we’ve been able to hang out. Again, he’s actually my only son but we had some fun for sure. I’m using curly tails and plastic minnows while he’s bobber & live minnows. Showing him a different fishing style than he’s used to since going to livescope. #livescope #Illinoiscrappief...

BACK HOME IN ILLINOIS

I'm clear water casting 25-35 ft out to prevent spooking the fish. When my Jazzysaint Handties aren’t working, we have to figure out what is working. Today that’s gonna be what I traditionally use for this lake, the “Curly Tail Grub.” Finding schools on rocky banks and brush piles.

Boat Flippin' Slabs In March
Переглядів 8937 місяців тому
You know we love crappie fishing so we’re in east Texas for March prespawn/early spawn flippin’ slabs in the boat. While most crappie fishermen have gone shallow to get them off the beds, we’re sticking around the 15-20ft range plucking the ones off the trees that have either already spawned or waiting to go into the shallows and do their spawning thing. Let’s go get some and ya’ll can help me ...

Another Great Day Crappie Fishing At Lake Fork
Awesome fishing trip brother 👌 🎣💯
great job, but why the 16ft pole? i usually use 7 ft, so just curious.
Great job 👏🏾
Great video...
Thnx again bro for watching..and in answering your question from another format, The brakes are called “Power-Brakes The Game Changer.” The link: Darrin@integratedboatworks.com(tell Darrin that Jeff Hughes sent you). Or try this link..mypowerbrakes.com which is actually the founder of the "Power-Brakes The Game Changer.” And no, I did not install them myself. I stopped in Keifer, OK. and had Darrin install them. It was well worth the time & money.
Nice footage
I see you OG 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thnx for watchin bro. I got my eye on you too. Keep doin what you do
Good Video
Hey thanks Chris. We’re just out having fun. Plz keep coming for more good videos
Great video. Love your colors. I tie my own jigs as well. Like the Ranger. What brand brakes are you using? Thanks for any info
Yo Mike Reynolds, thanks for the comments man. Aint nothing like catching slabs with your own handties. The brakes are called “Power-Brakes The Game Changer.” The link: Darrin@integratedboatworks.com(tell Darrin that Jeff Hughes sent you). Or try this link..mypowerbrakes.com
Mr. Jeff great video. can you do a video on your settings for your live scope it's so clear.
That’s a good idea Keith Maroney. I’ll try and get that done. Thanks for the request
Not you getting fish juice all over the seats. Remind me not to get into your boat until after the detailing has been done playa 👍🏾, nice edits though! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks for watching Chile. You know it’s gonna be sonme fish juice flying all over the place when I’m in the boat lol. That’s the whole idea
Awesome vid brother
Thanks brotha. I really appreciate you watching, commenting and sharing
Great video Jeff!!! Your friend Alex from ACL

Hey @FishingWithKeidra, glad you could make it to our channel. Please keep watching & sharing & commenting. Oh and don’t forget the likes & notification bell..
Aight Mr. Thermocline 👏🏾👍🏾
Hey shawty. Glad you liked it. Don’t forget to share it
I thought my live scope was messed up because of how fuzzy it got after the new update... Now I know it was just the Thermocline Thanks to your video!!! Thanks for this video and ya got a sub from me because of it!!! Thanks again
Man, that’s great to hear and no, it’s not your livescope. That thermocline is ever present on most lakes this time of year. That’s why I wanted to get this word out. I didn’t understand it for many years and I’m hoping it won’t take as long for others to find out about it as it did for me. I can almost guarantee if you put this theory to practice it’ll put more slabs in the boat.
@@JeffreyHughes37152 heck my screen was so saturated with the fuzziness I could barely even pick out my jig in it so I was staying above it just because I couldn't see it. LOL
I like what your doing OG 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Hey thnx bro. I’m hoping it will help someone out there understand the thermocline better so they can use it to catch some slabs in the summer. For a long time my brother and I were in that group that though you could only catch slabs in the fall..lol. We know better now.
Great tips about the thermocline! Tight video! Just subbed you! TIGHT LINES!!
Thanks Doc, it’s always a pleasure to watch your vids to see how you go gettem man. And you already know how I love your editing process in DeVinci Resolve from when I called and talked to you a couple months ago. I finally upgraded from iMovie to Final Cut Pro and I must admit it’s quite the learning curve but I’m slowly getting there.
Oh btw, I still hope to get down there to have that sit down over a cup of coffee you spoke about. I still wanna get some pointers and kick around some ideas with you.
@@JeffreyHughes37152 So glad to hear you are catching slabs and making cool vids!!
@@JeffreyHughes37152 Come on down!!
Excellent info and great video. I’m in the Chicagoland area and would love to come fish with ya. Maybe even to some Texas lakes.
Yea man, maybe we can make that happen in the future. I’m born and raised in northern illinois area but I actually can’t wait to get back down to Texas and fish that standing timber. Ive been learning so much over the last couple years down there. Thanks again for the sub bro and stay tuned in. I plan to get more good content coming your way.
You gave the right information on the thermocline
Oh thnx man. My prayer is that it will help someone have success when fishing the thermocline. That’ll make it all worth it
Nice crappies what is the name of your real
Hey man that was a Shimano Sedona 500 reel (don’t know the gear ratio). Had it with 7.6ft ACC crappie stix, Sniping braid black Astros 10Lb test, 8oz barrel weight w/ 2bobber stops above and below weight. Been working with my own handties lately on 32nd oz jig (white head/body grey tail & red collar on neck
Do you have a video on your livescope settings
No Richard I don’t have a video on my livescope but that is something I should be doing in the near future. And thanks for bringing that up.
Great vid, sure would like to see your boat layout
That’s a good idea brotha and something I’ve been wanting to do but keep putting it off. So hopefully "Coming soon!"
Nice ones!
Hey thanks brotha
Yessss right on family🙌🏽
Hey thnx Rob
The fish that jumped back in the water look like a smart fish to me lol
Well at least he was smart enough to get caught in the 1st place lol. I’ll gettem next time around
Great video brother!
Thanks bro, glad you liked it. Stay tuned for more vids
How do you have transducer mounted? Thanks!
Hey bro, glad you asked. I’m using whats call the cable mount setup by "Cornfield Fishing Gear.” This is the 1st video I done with that transducer method. Before that I was using the “Livesweep” in all the other videos also by “Cornfield Fishing Gear.” Mark Ridl is the owner and a great guy. You’ll definitely wanna check him out if you’re looking for anything for mounts, livescope etc.
Correction bro, I that you were looking at my latest video “Back Home In Illinois” where I used the cable mount method. The video you were asking about, I was still using my “livesweep” and that uses a key fob remote or foot pedal to rotate my transducer which is mounted on the shaft of the trolling motor but on it’s own independent shaft so it’s not bound by having to look the same direction the trolling motor is pointing. Hope that was a better explanation and wasn’t too confusing.
Well holy crap ! Get em on that there Apple Canyon lake boy ! I have a lake house on it and was there for the 4th .
Thanks Natedogg7526, just out there having fun. Keep watching bro and don’t forget to share and keep the comments coming. I love the feedback.
As a fisherman myself, I love seeing that hookset and the rod bend.
Yea calloftheoutdoors8941, there’s nuttin like feeling that thump when vertical jigging or watching that bobber go down.
Very nice crappies keep up the good fishing 🎣
Thanks, will do!
No I never had done that
Keep watching Michael Upchurch. Thnx
Excellent camera work Jeff. I love doing what you are doing. Keep it up!
