Man, that’s great to hear and no, it’s not your livescope. That thermocline is ever present on most lakes this time of year. That’s why I wanted to get this word out. I didn’t understand it for many years and I’m hoping it won’t take as long for others to find out about it as it did for me. I can almost guarantee if you put this theory to practice it’ll put more slabs in the boat.

Hey thnx bro. I’m hoping it will help someone out there understand the thermocline better so they can use it to catch some slabs in the summer. For a long time my brother and I were in that group that though you could only catch slabs in the fall..lol. We know better now.

Thanks Doc, it’s always a pleasure to watch your vids to see how you go gettem man. And you already know how I love your editing process in DeVinci Resolve from when I called and talked to you a couple months ago. I finally upgraded from iMovie to Final Cut Pro and I must admit it’s quite the learning curve but I’m slowly getting there.

Oh btw, I still hope to get down there to have that sit down over a cup of coffee you spoke about. I still wanna get some pointers and kick around some ideas with you.

Yea man, maybe we can make that happen in the future. I’m born and raised in northern illinois area but I actually can’t wait to get back down to Texas and fish that standing timber. Hey man that was a Shimano Sedona 500 reel (don’t know the gear ratio). Had it with 7.6ft ACC crappie stix, Sniping braid black Astros 10Lb test, 8oz barrel weight w/ 2bobber stops above and below weight. Been working with my own handties lately on 32nd oz jig (white head/body grey tail & red collar on neck

Hey bro, glad you asked. I’m using whats call the cable mount setup by "Cornfield Fishing Gear.” This is the 1st video I done with that transducer method. Before that I was using the “Livesweep” in all the other videos also by “Cornfield Fishing Gear.” Mark Ridl is the owner and a great guy. You’ll definitely wanna check him out if you’re looking for anything for mounts, livescope etc.

Correction bro, I that you were looking at my latest video “Back Home In Illinois” where I used the cable mount method. The video you were asking about, I was still using my “livesweep” and that uses a key fob remote or foot pedal to rotate my transducer which is mounted on the shaft of the trolling motor but on it’s own independent shaft so it’s not bound by having to look the same direction the trolling motor is pointing. Hope that was a better explanation and wasn’t too confusing.

Yea Carson they are definitely toads. I’m from Illinois but spend winters down here in Texas just so I can catch them. Hey Breakinjaws..that time i was using a 12 ft Falcon rod but Ive been experimenting lately with a 16 ft Savage from 3 pound Fishing. It still feels a little heavy for my shoulder that I’m still rehabbing from a torn rotator cuff but i do love it.
