Okuma Caymus spinning reel
Переглядів 7 тис.8 років тому
Okuma Caymus spinning reel, Sz 30, This reel out of the package was a great reel it has 8 bearings multi-disc felt drag system, this reel was a great reel, but it just isn't smooth any more ? I have pulled it apart greased & oiled but in the end it is a fail for me ... Sorry Okuma but it just didn't last, I would say spend your hard earned fishing bucks on some thing else. 6 months use and it's...

Thanks for sharing your review. I just bought one too. Quantum 5 year warranty too.
I just got mine too 6'6" light tackle thanks fir sharing
I just wiped all the academy’s out in my area. I got them for $15 a piece.
just got the 10 foot surf version for $45 pumped
I bought the Penn Squadron 10-17 lbs for my Daiwa BG 4000 in Walmart is that ok 👌, Walmart selling authentic rod too right ?
How much can handle with this rod?
*Felt great out of the box like all reels should. After a few months of good use it still feels great.>>>**allabout.wiki/27zy** This one is worth the price. I bought one from an online name gaining popularity and it was junk. This Okuma Ceymar however is very worthy. Looking for another more for light or ultralight so good enough it makes u want more.*
*Tough little reels for their size>>> **allabout.wiki/cw90** I use the Battle 2500 and 3000 series for jigging lures off of the pier or from the surf. They have held up very well for some large fish and even have taken on some bigger rays. I highly recommend this reel as it has held up to travel, kayaking, pier and surf fishing. Still going strong.*
*It worked great>>>**nub.best/avzw** all summer on large (15" or greater) wild trout. I am not an ardent fisherwoman because I am chiefly outside doing wildlife photography. Nonetheless, I like a good rod with great action that breaks down so it is easy to carry when the day is done so I can fish.*
*Ive used it about 10 times so far fishing for striper and catfish>>> **nub.best/w9tf** Beware the spool is very large, I put 60 lb braid on it and it almost took the whole 325 yards.*
How much are the lures weight?
The 7-foot version of that Rod is awesome for Crappie, it cast well and is very sensitive
They call me Nobody I just got the 7 footer about half hour ago, prespooled reel combo for $30, can’t wait to try it on some trout next week, it has almost no backbone at all, which is exactly what I was looking for, I feel like I could tie it in a knot... never had a 7’ UL before, only 5’s.
It’s good for steelhead too, I caught a 7lber in the 7 foot rod.
Man im debating if i should get this rod because its not fast action but fast mod action not sure but the backbone im not too sure how it feels
What reel did you used?
Okuma Alaris als 50
Whatz the casting weight of this rod?
11-49 g
I just bought a light action pole in the Shakespeare micro series. Good information on the pole and yes I’m a big fan or Shakespeare fishing equipment. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic honest review i’ve been really happy with $17.00 Quantum Nitrous Spinning Reel www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/quantum-nitrous-spinning-reel-17qutuntrs20szspnree/17qutuntrs20szspnree It is not a forever reel and it will last you a season and catch plenty of big fish
The X-Dragon 5 panel is by far and away the best for the buck when it come to these mini solar banks. It's 20000mah,recharges back to full faster than any of the other mini solar chargers, and it's only around $35-$45 and well worth the price. Remember, if you want something very dependable to do what it promises when you need it most, there isn't a better mini solar bank on the market right now.
Thank you for the review. I am excited to try these as well. Wish more youtubers did reviews on these.
Ive found that the channel lock's red peels off some on those. I like the Kobalts and the Channellocks tho. Also Kobalt makes some beefier set that comes in a foam insert. And the blue color is better on them too. Good video.
Searching for something to cast my really light spinners and trout lures. This definitely looks like a winner, especially with regards to the price.
Good video, I own the 7 ft light rod microseries paired with an okuma alaris 2000 both cost around 45 bucks and works really great, I fish a 5.8 lbs Snook with that check my channel there is a good video :)
Channellock is better than Kobalt because it's made in USA but go for channel lock or klien for screwdrivers
hi.. nice video.. that rod are fast taper or medium taper? thank you
Hi, what about saltwater?
10bucks score Dicks 29.99
Most Pflueger spinning reels are well made,Affordable,Lightweight,Reliable,Goodlooking Pfluegers also doing a good job of making them braid ready as well. I also like how most Pflueger spinning reels have direct screw in handles not that screw in cap crap on the opposite side of the handle that normaly breaks or strips out. Or the handle just feels loose. Go Buy 1 or many. I have 2 given as gifts can't say enuff positive things about them.
Ordered one off eBay today
Can’t find original video of part 1
i cant keep mine running good luck brother i owned 3 at one time and the 1irst one quit i took it back now my other 2 wont stay on they shutoff like there not seeing the plug when its plugged in. any suggestions
Shaun Solenberger , hey I have moved on to a different one
Shaun Solenberger , the one I have is still up and running ... just there are some better ones now... Thx peace.
What size fish could I catch with the micro series
Tyler Pinkston small
You never know man. I caught a 9 pound bass on a 5'6" ultra light Shakespeare rod. It was not the Micro series, it was a nicer one but I bet you could get something decent on this. My micro series is my dedicated panfish rod so I haven't tested how far it could go but I have faith.
these rods are pretty solid. I had 2 micro ultralights and landed 4 lbs catfish with it and a 5 lbs carp at the local pond with the micro ultralight. 👍👍
U should wet ur hands or else u mess with the trouts slime that keeps them protected from disease
if you want a good reel from penn
Penn's saltwater gears good that's about it. They used to be right here in Pa an I don't even use Penn.
nice vid... love my rod!
If you ever want to use braid, stainless steel guides are better.
Thanks for sharing. I have both Shakespeare Micro Series 7' light and ultra light. I really like the ultra light one, it is sensitive and light weight. It is very fun to fight with stockers that are over one pound. I am a big fan of Shakespeare, low priced and good quality. You seem to use several brand name rods. I am thinking to buy Fenwick and Okuma brand rods, hope to see you review more trout rods.
The Man in the Motorcycle Mask this ultralight series has pretty much no backbone at all, I feel like I can tie the 7’ I just got in a knot, can’t wait to catch a fish, never had long of UL before
The Man in the Motorcycle Mask ultra light refers to the power/action of the rod, so to answer your question directly, it is “flimsy”all the way down to the handle, whereas rods with a medium or heavy or even light power/actions have some stiffness in the lower sections of the rod, how much and how high up depends on the rating. If you look at a rod, it will say something like “medium fast”, that means medium power and fast action(the tip) so it would have some strength/stiffness about the bottom 1/3 of the rod and the tip would be really light and twitchy. The “ultra light” doesn’t really refer to how much it weighs in your hand, tho ULs are, by definition, a bit less weight than the same length rod in a heavier power/action. Hope that all makes sense.
The Man in the Motorcycle Mask lol Nd to confuse you a bit more, use those rating as a reference, because each series is different...I have a 5’ uglystik ultralight(made by Shakespeare, same company) that is stiffer and weighs more than this series, and I have a 6’ shimano medium fast rod that feels almost as flimsy as this series....But all that should give you a good idea how to read the info on rods and help with choices, I alway use the ol manual pull/bend test too, gently without breaking ;)
The Man in the Motorcycle Mask no problem, and yes it most definitely does! But I wouldn’t use a UL in heavily weeded waters, something to keep in mind...
The Man in the Motorcycle Mask lol and I just now picked up a Berkeley 8’ UL rod for only 17$(+tax) while doing the last of my Xmas shopping, just couldn’t pass it up...told my GF not to even take me with her or to let me go anywhere near the fishing aisle...her fault ;) This Berkeley rod bslr802ul feels the best to me, even chose it over the same size/power uglystik, which is my brand of choice... but that rod doesn’t come as a combo(with reel), I have an old 2000 series spinning reel to use with it tho...small, light, twitchy..perfect for planter trout or any sunfish or anything really...
Thanks for sharing. I am thinking to buy a C-10 or C-30 to pair with Okuma SST 7' ultra light, now I have a second thought.
I have an Okuma Ceymar and Pulzar both 10 size and their working excelent even after one year, no issues with them and they had big pikes on them
Funny thing, I have both of these rods (except my Stimula is a 7" Medium) and I hate the Shimano. The Micro series feels like a $75 dollar rod in action. The Shimano is a floppy tipped, Ugly Stik feeling nightmare. I own three of the Micro series in various sizes and grab them more than almost any of my other rods, even ones that are much more expensive. The 7" light is a dream. I own two. They are perfect for stream and river fishing. I would not recommend them for largemouth or catfish.
Anything that feels like an Ugly Stik is wonderful. There is no better, and certainly no stronger, rod on the market than an Ugly Stik. Ugly Stik comes in many sizes, and at every sensitivity level.
Hello! I was thinking about buying this eagle rod for trout fishing in norway where i live. But i dont like short back handle. I like when END of the handle stops around at the tip of my elbow. How is the handle on this? Length?
you want good reel? then pay more to get the Stella.
That's an overpriced bull sh t reel I'd be surprised if shimano sold 1k of them.
I got it at Walmart yesterday it's sweet
Where did you get it at for $10?
dsgbqc .. bargain isle at Walmart ... if I can find a deal that saves me $ I'm all over it... lol, good fishing to you
dsgbqc 16.99 at Wal-Mart 3 days ago. I picked up the 5'6.
Can I use it for Jigging ?
Ryan Blanco yeah
Hell yes, perfect, mine are now 8 yrs old, still great, no service yet
What kind of reel is that?
Chase Ruiz the reel is a quantum EXO size 30 it's been a great reel I also like the Quantum Smoke ... they have been great reels ..
I got one for $25 at Wal-Mart it was on closeoutp
+derrek bullins Got mine for free! Won it and a Energy 15PTI in a couple of drawings at my tackle shop a week apart. Two for the price of none! It did cost me two St Croix rods to put them on though. :) I NEVER win anything but I made out good on these. LOL
Update... I am in the proses of replacing the bearings ... It looks like a bearing problem ? Hope to have a sealed bearing this time around ...
Just put some synthetic reel oil in it an try to sell it an forget about okuma an buy Pflueger.
Sinister TM Yes I would recommend the Squadron Extra Light ... I cant say how the other Squadron Rod's are ? But I have beat this 7' Rod and it keeps performing ! I do like this Budget Rod and yes it is a Good Rod ... I am hoping to soon review the Penn Battalion 7' extra light ... Hope it is as good or better than the Squadron ... THX for watching
would you recommend the squadron?
