Westman cigarette vs. cellphone #1 (cigarette)
In this video I try to recreate what it would have looked like to the Westmans if someone had been smoking in Maura's car. I light up a cigarette (you can see my lighter light up twice) and then take a couple of drags (I don't see it -- but the cigarette looked "red" in my car).
My distance is not quite as far as Maura was from the Westmans: imgur.com/a/X5deJlY

Maura Murray's crash site in 2019. Filmed in Woodsville, Haverhill, New Hampshire.
Has there even been a warrant to search the property beyond that gate beside the woods?
good video thank you! ive been following this case for years. very sad. I don't think she walked off and perished in the woods. she was taken.
I read that the car was spun around pointed back towards that red barn. I think she was driving east, but the car spun and was pointed back west. When Maura got out and started walking was it in the direction of the red barn that the dogs lost the scent ? Or that side driveway right by the red barn ? Trying to picture her steps after the crash. Hope she will be found someday, RIP.
no need for he cheesy music
thinking of Maura Murrag, 18 years after her disappearance, very sad
I won't stop till you are in prison you monster!
Fred says 1:37 "she went and drove to NH in an area she had never been before" and then says 2:07 "It's also the road that turns into the Kancamagus highway" (he's talking about route 112 where Maura's car was found) "further down once you pass Lincoln, and that's where Maura and I, actually the whole family would camp every summer" (He's talking about Jigger Johnson camp ground) 2:16 "And we went there maybe 3 or 4 times a year, the general area to climb mountains, sometimes we would camp, sometimes we would stay in a motel depending on what season it was" he then states "she was familiar with that area, but she was familiar with the road further down" So my question is, is when they would go up to Jigger Johnson or when they would hike the area which route would they take then, if she wasn't familiar with this particular area or part of the road? If she was coming from Amherst, MA she would take I91 not I93? If she wasn't familiar with the area how would she know where to go to get to route 112?
The saddest thing is the family members who do not know what really happened to her.

This is really well-thought-out, IMHO. I've always pointed people to the fact that one way to Burlington is simply to go west instead of east on 302. There are several possibilities here: She was going to poke around at a couple of local motels or B&Bs on 112 (on the NH side) and maybe head to Burlington in a day or two. Or she _did_ have something going on in or near Woodsville, maybe. Or she was going to meet somebody in one place or the other, but who wasn't going to both places with her. There are other possibilities, obviously. But any theory that doesn't account for Burlington in some way is lacking, IMHO. Also, BR was in the Burlington area by Wednesday evening (and in the Rutland VT area a little earlier). Also also, Burlington has an international airport. Just so many things going on. One thing I _have_ to think is relevant here, though: If she filled up before leaving Amherst-Hadley -- not necessarily true, but a fairly good bet before getting on the road for an interstate trip -- she would've had more than half a tank by the time she got to Woodsville. If it's true that the gas tank was later found to be so dead full that investigators thought it was probably filled at the nearest station (the Stage Stop, only 0.9 mi away), you have to wonder why she would've passed up the truck stop at the I-91 and 302 intersection, probably a couple of other stations close to that, come all the way through Woodsville with several other stations, then filled up after she'd gotten _away_ from more stations, more competition, possibly lower prices, etc., to fill up at the Stage Stop or that other nearby station, on the way away from town and off into the darkness. It would seem to indicate that she was either trying to get a big head start on the next day, when she intended to do a lot of driving, or that she was going much farther that night. So: Was she going on to the Bartlett-Conway area, as Fred believed? She really didn't need the full tank for that. It was only 55-60 miles, maybe 2.5 gallons or so even if the car wasn't running at peak efficiency. But Burlington is more like 80-plus. Anyway ... yeah, it's hard to understand why so many people shrug at the Burlington thing. It seems potentially critical to me.
But hold on: We're assuming that Fred definitely knew everything Maura knew about what she was familiar with in NH. I'm not sure that's true. There may have been a connection in the Woodsville area that neither Fred nor anybody in the family knew about. I'll talk to you separately about that. Still, I agree you can't ignore the Burlington info. There's also the possibility that she simply got on the wrong interstate, and 15 miles down the road, she was just committed at that point. Or that she took a wrong turn at I-91 and 302.
@@emncaity If we found out that Maura knew someone in the Woodsville area, or had been to Woodsville before, that would kill my theory. But because there is nothing to indicate that she either of those assumptions are true, I don't view either of those assumptions as negating my theory. In short, my theory is based exclusively on the facts that we have; nothing more, nothing less. Thanks for watching, and thanks for commenting!
@@fulkstop8627 @@fulkstop8627 I would love to know what you think - this is the link to NH state police website, under their missing persons - www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/missingpersons/mpmurray.html Compared to the other missing persons pages in NH her page looks so different? The other pages list a NCIC # for the missing person? The links don't really go anywhere? It says "additional information found here" www.spbowers.com/mauramissing.html And they give a link for National Center for Missing Adults(NCMA) and when you click it it goes to a 404 error page?
When will this strange and terrible case be solved?
1) question - if we can follow the numbers/money to any end the $280 if this is all she had on her does anyone know if this amount is even a reasonable amount to rent a condo in 2004? If so how long would that amount of money be good for, a few days a week, and too, do many people even rent their condos for such a short period of time? I it sure just seems kinda odd to me.
People can and do rent condos in parts of New Hampshire for a week or less. This was common in 2004. The amount that Maura had, that we know about, does not seem like it was enough to rent a condo.
Was Maura even old enough to rent a room by herself??? Her and I are pretty close in age and I know back then I could NOT rent a room (most places) at 21. The minimum age was 25, at least back then. I was definitely the type of college kid that would plan a trip and just go, even on my own, and I know that was a big hurdle for me at that age because most places wouldnt rent to someone at that age. Just an observation and something that has bothered me....
Post more videos please. I buy this theory and have shared it for some time. I can't help but project because I'm a Mass kid, almost the same age as Maura, and have been traveling to the White Mountains since birth. As a kid my parents drove up, and around Maura's age of her disappearance is when I started going myself. At that point, I wouldn't know the best way to get to the White Mountains up 91 (we took 93) but I would know enough to just follow 112 to get somewhere familiar if I had a change of plans. I also would have known that not having a reservation on a Mon night is not a big deal, and that I could drive until I saw a vacancy sign at a cheap motel. And I think that's exactly what Maura did. It was dark, she needed map quest directions to get to VT, she probably said screw this, I'll head over to Lincoln/Woodstock stop for the night and maybe head to VT in the morning. Great work keep them coming!
Whatever is beyond that gate could hold the answers
Hi! Know anybody named "Saffo" or "Dutile" in the area? Highly interested in their opinion on the matter and any current investigation.
Wow, thanks for this. Those woods are dense. And I always thought tons of people probably search in there all the time but I guess not since it’s private property. I always go back to “she’s probably in the woods” but WHYYY would she go in there.... Then again, the behavior her supervisor described on the Missing Maura Murray Podcast makes it seem more likely. If it was me, and I wanted to avoid cops, I would have rejected Butch’s offer too 1. He’s scary looking (no offense, RIP) and 2. he was driving a school bus so if he wasn’t going to kill me he was probably going to do the right thing and call the cops. I sure as hell wouldn’t have gone into the woods and I wouldn’t have gone to the Westmans because they could see what happened. I would have walked around the back of the barn to get out of sight from the cops and from there I would have seen the nice, welcoming house down across the street and chosen that place to ask for help. Which is terrifying considering those dogs hit on the same area of the their basement even though they didn’t find her there. I really hope she’s found some day.
yes, i agree. sad to think maura could be out there somewhere, but has not yet been found.
What is this?
Fulk, excellent video. I wish someone could put together a re-enactment video with the car in the position that the 3 so-called witnesses saw it (witness A/B/and newly C).
Yes, although Witness C and passengers no longer wish to discuss the case, and Witness B's account doesn't make much sense (she claims the Saturn was up near OPR, facing the other way). Based on the WMUR footage/Witness A/Tim Westman, I believe the car was found here: i.imgur.com/YLNctCj.gif
Fulk Stop was her car known to have been seen in 3 different positions or only 2, based on the witnesses? I believe the Marrottes stated that the Saturn was seen with its backup lights engaged, would this be the same as the “nose-to-nose” scenario with witness KM?
@@webuser5085 John Marrotte first saw the Saturn facing east, then saw it's backup lights engaged. The second position that he saw it in was the same as the "nose-to-nose" scenario with witness KM. My source for the first position is Marrotte's interview by Guy Paradee. The third position, if we are to accept it as true, is Witness B's statement that the Saturn was facing east, but down by OPR. I tend to discount Witness B's statement (frankly, it doesn't make sense to me).

That's a really good idea but unfortunately BA and JM have passed on. :(
Interesting or video, thanks for recording and posting, in curiosity every time you know what happened to Maura, for sure or she's in there near burning or burning, or even in a dungeon today, we'll never know, until someone confesses something or know it's a pity unfortunately it takes a while to know what's going on
Great stuff, I would check it out if I lived more closer. Thank you for uploading this. Hopefully the case can be solved next year. It's been too long.
Wow
Awesome sauce!
