So glad you came back. Thank you. I wish I had found more information. It surprised me how difficult it was. Usually research takes me down rabbit holes forever. But there were none to fall down. I do recognize some of the names you mentioned, but not sure if I know any of them. I'm terrible with remembering what people's names are. i do know of multiple lakes/ponds up there, that people go fishing at. I had to rescue someone that came up here from down south, because they though they could go anywhere with 4 wheel drive. But they had never seen snow, I guess. Drove on top of snow and sank because they got to a spot the sun was hitting. My concern about the rest home, was not wanting the residents feeling like I was invading their privacy. Not so much a legality thing.

@stephaniemhoover4741 we get a lot of people who never drove in snow before here in montanan. Many end up in wrecks or slide offs. Interstate 90 has been shut down many times because of this in the winter. also, the interstate gets shut down (either west/east bound lanes, 1 to 2 lanes each time) because of high winds blowing over high-profile vehicles. While working at the rest home, in the town I was born in, and I am a 3rd generation. Many rest home residents enjoy sharing what memories/information they have. The rest home is one place where a person can find a lot of history. History that can be lost because it was never thought to be important enough to document about at the time. I bet if you went to the rest home. Talked to the director, explaining you would like to find out more history. And the residents might have information. I bet many residents would love to give you their knowledge. Thanks, and have a good day.

I actually ate there a couple of times last year, because my husband wanted to check it out, and it was a lot better than it used to be. Not that it was bad before. But when I had tried their pizza back in 2000 and then again a few years later, it was just too greasy for my liking.

You randomly came to one of my older videos. Thanks for your thoughts. Weird things seem to be happening more frequently. It's crazy, the things that don't make sense. In fact, I just seen a scar on one of my kids' heads tonight, that nobody has any memory of it happening. It's mind blowing. Pretty major one too.

Someday, I would love to visit some of these places I make videos on. I'm always fascinated by how things are built.

@@stephaniemhoover4741 We've been busy moving. Long story, but basically, we have to move from Allen's mom's property because his stepdad outlived his mom who owned this place since 1976. Anyway, his mom died of dementia and his stepdad has Alzheimer's and his family became his proxies, and they want us out so that they can sell this place. We got a job as ranch caretakers here in Redding close to Shasta Lake, so we have been busy trying to sort through all his mom's stuff, his dad's stuff, brothers and ours so that we can move to the ranch. There is so much because of living on this place since 1976. She had a will that left the property to the boys, but she bought the horse pasture next door with her husband and merged it with her property, so now the stepdad became an equal partner, and he unfortunately out lived her.

@@carriesmith7460 If she left the property to the boys in a will, then the property would legally be 50% theirs and 50% the stepdad's. So legally you should be able to make a deal with them, to buy his half?

@@stephaniemhoover4741 If she had made a new will after she combined the property with the adjoining property, then that would be the case, but since her will was made before she and the stepdad bought and combined the two, her will became void and goes to the right of survivorship which is him. If he had died before her even without a new will, the boys would have to split the property with his two sons after probate. It's a big, complicated mess. Unfortunately, she thought that she would outlive him and that her original will was still good.

@@KrisMaser That depends on what you're looking for. The extent of fast food here, is Subway. But there are some restaurants. A lot of people drive 100 miles, to do shopping. But we do have Dollar General, Grocery Outlet, RiteAid and some grocery stores. As for schools, there is one each of elementary, middle school and high school, as well as continuation school I believe. If someone told you that the snow melts by noon, in CalPines, sue them. 😂 I've heard that story a few times. Depending on how far up in CalPines, the snow can get deeper than I am tall. If you are not prepared for snow and cold, I would be cautious about CalPines, if it's not on the lower parts near the lodge or if you're thinking off-grid.
