Would it be possible to build a battery system large enough to cater for any possible needs like air conditioning, desalination or welding? If so could you run multiple, identical versions of this hydro system to keep such an obviously large battery system running? Excellent work! Absolutely fascinating!

It would be cheaper to put the turbine near the river and run the wires to the transformer near the house, rather than running the pipes far away. And there are 4 pipes near the turbine, so it is possible that there are 4 blade generators, according to all the rules of trade, 1 unit of a large product is always cheaper than several smaller units of the same volume equivalent, so it would be more profitable to order 1 larger turbine and regulate the current power with a tap, and do not turn off several turbines to reduce productivity 😊

Completely unwatchable! Either Voice Immodulation Disorder or this prattling dingbat is completely unfamiliar with the idea of over-dubbing dialogue from an audio source that does NOT remove paint from a diesel locomotive.

What a weird place to put the turbine? Really unsightly crossing the stream, and hard to work on crammed between two rocks?

Super setup - is the tree at 5:36 a native American symbol? I've seen these trees cultivated to be an everlasting signpost used by the Native Americans.

Thanks, yes only 500W but it can be 24/7/365. Yes solar is much simpler, but only when the sun is enough, and I like tinkering and building stuff, so if I had the land I would do the same. I do live in an old Mill house which many years ago had a water wheel, however the stream has been culverted and the Mill pond drained for housing, so no chance for me.

Great video. You could probably simplify that intake with a coander screen intake. Also I think you could put at least one more generator in the system. But I'm just some dude in Australia. Thanks for sharing

at 5:35 you can see what looks to be a cherokee tree. Cherokee native Americans would tie saplings in certain ways to change their growth to mark something of importance. That is way cool. Also your intake design and systems are so well thought out! thank you sir.

Great...the water supply is excellent...make it even better...save the screen and decrease the diameter of the ball bearings to 1/2 an inch...then use a water wheel of larger diameter for larger leverage turn into higher rpm of the generator.

These home hydro symptoms never work in the long run. The wear & tear never ends. And lets be honest, it's not environmentally that friendly putting all those pipes, metals & plastic into nature when you can just use solar panels.

I think your site would have been better suited with an 8 foot wide, 36 foot diameter laser cut stainless steel welded waterwheel. Modern waterwheels built in Europe and the US use much thinner steel than was used 100 years ago, thus they are lighter weight and less expensive to build. The wheel could have been put at the lowest point in your property. The impound weir could be made taller using an actual poured concrete weir. Then the impound area and the wheel are connected with a large 24" water pipe. Yes the wheel would be large 36 feet in diameter, but the energy you can make from that amount of flow falling 36 ft would produce many kw of electricity which can be sold back to the utility. No need for elaborate rotating screens just a very course screen over the intake pipe. Waterwheels are ultra low maintenance, just grease the bearing and you good. Very cool hydro site, I would love to own a piece of property with a stream like that.

That is a lot of equipment to produce 500w - also I wonder how feasible a few lead acid batteries are for higher loads..... surely they can only be charged/discharged a couple of hundred times before they need replacing? An expensive undertaking.

Only 500 watts ? Make one that produces at least 1500 out of a regular generator just take the engine out and replace it with a turbine
