It's not 100% the same but definitely better than a gum rubber pad.

Keep grinding, focus on quality at slower tempos over playing fast and complicated stuff. Do the basics well, stick with it and eventually you should work with someone who's been there and achieved what you're looking to do. Get lessons and most importantly, don't judge your progress too harshly. It takes time.

drumslinger, they won’t ship your pad tho so i would buy from rudimental drummers. very similar company and great customer service

Lol. I don't know that I'm qualified to teach...but I will say this: I know you already know it but... if you put in the time, focus on quality over tempo, and just stick with it...there is no music you cannot learn over a long enough timeline.

I grew up drumming on the old school white kevlar heads so it's definitely new to me. I can see how the pattern might trip out your eyes. Great feel on those heads.

It’s made that way so you don’t look down while playing also adds sound and feel to it

Thank you! I haven't sat behind the kit for years but I think that's the next piece to dust off and try and get back into. Rudiments definitely come in handy when splitting it up around the drums!

In a sea of amazing tenor lines, UPQ ain't no slouch. Hard to cut through the noise of the top 4-5 groups...but United Percussion always does it for me. :)
