I'm not sure why i havent seen this earlier.. but as a person that was in a 4 years relationship and got cheated on i completly understand the feeling. It really hurts at the beginning but then you get over it really fast, i felt like "why would i keep on crying for someone who didn't love me"

Men operate on Logic.. Women operate on Feelings.. A man would never cheat when things are going great because he looks back and logically evaluates the goods and the bads of the relationship.. A woman on the other hand might out of the blue just feel unhappy and then focus on things that she doesn't like about you to have a reason to cheat on you. It could be hormonal or just "the grass is greener on the other side" - some kind of - I am missing out with this guy that I have right now.. And poof.. gone.. they will turn cold, tell you everything is ok, gaslight you while they are setting up the new guy in the background. Once the new guy is fully formed they will break up and might even turn it around on you so that you feel guilty. Took me years to get over my last girl, still can't trust anyone that purely operates on "feelings"

Advice for future self: if somebody ever mentions breaking up, understand that the first time you hear it, is not the first time they have thought it. Sometimes i think we don't take these things seriously or we convince ourselves that its not a big deal. Thats how we get blindsided. When somebody tells/shows you who they are, believe them. Many of us are in the habit of filling in the gaps of the other person, with qualities that they don't actually have.
