Just to explain a little bit about the application process for SAS Who Dares Wins, the entry criteria, fitness test, what I'm doing to train for it, and also a little bit about my other fitness challenges for the year!

My friend Ren and I headed up to Horsey in Norfolk for a coastal walk to see the herds of seals on the beach. The seals visit Horsey beach from late November until the end of January so we just managed to catch them before they leave this year! We had to keep a safe distance as a few seals have actually died this year due to human intervention - people chasing them for pictures and selfies, so ...

So as I'm looking to complete The Fandance and The Para 10s this year as well as wanting to get myself into a more functionally fit condition I got hold of a bergen (kindly gifted to me by Jay, thanks Jay!) and this is how my first session went. Just thought I would post a little video from one of my regular visits to see my Dad who as most know suffers from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. He's been the star of my channel for a while now and people have been wanting to see how he's getting on, so here he is being his usual good humoured self.

I'm pretty much still a novice so finding my way through navigating and scrambling for the first time! Was thoroughly enjoyable though! High Cup Nick is in the North Pennines and is most easily accessed from Dufton, Cumbria. Just a correction - I found out after that you don't need to scan your barcode until you finish, only at the end! My official time was 31.37 but I'd say my Runkeeper app was more accurate as I was speaking to one of the volunteer staff for a little while after the start time! Will get there earlier next time!
