Very well done video guys. There seems to be a variation between model years and I tried a couple of ways before finding your video and it worked. Do you have a video on rebuilding a caliper on this vehicle? I may have damaged a piston seal when working on this so I want to replace the seal.

after you push the start button you need to press and hold the E- brake button so caliper will retract and go to service mode. TY!

apetrov1x5 yes, you still need to put the park brake in maintence mode.

Did not you mean Pull the e-parking brake when re-activating? Also, once you activated the service-mode, did you leave the ignition on when working on the brake pads?

Did you figure this out? I cant get the thing out of maint. mode. wtf.
Yeah. Just do the same thing as putting it on to take it off..I figured it out..1. ignition on (engine off) 2. Push (not pull) on brake button. 3. Wait 3sec 4. Press all the way down on gas peddle.(while still pressing button) 5. Wait 3 second 6. Turn ignition on (with other hand) and then off (not super fast) 7. If if doesn't go off (take deep breaths) 8. Try again and repeat steps 1-6 9. Be sure not to let off of the brake Button and gas untill the brake motors are done doing its thing. Takes 9 seconds.
It's same as entering maintenance mode but instead of( push) e brake for 2 seconds it's (pull)
To get out of Maintenance Mode. You do exactly the same as you did to activate Maintenance Mode, EXCEPT you keep the handbrake switch Pushed instead of pulled..

Imran Shaikh hi . my friend, din,t figured out how to do it yet . but some how i take all the caliber apart . i think there a problem when we push the piston in the cylinder ,lt,s move the cylinder a litter then get stuck at the nucker. let say when the the piston move inside it not center anymore so it hid right at the nucker . i think at this time you beter stop , take the presser off try somyhing move to move the cylinder up or down or side by side then push the cylinder again
Imran Shaikh . i can say it,s a very stupid engineers. the piston and the nucker ( the mucker ))should long enough stay inside the the piston . so there , re will no troubles when it move up and down .
the Piston is a rotating piston you need a special break tool

Thanks so much - you saved the day for me. I didn't know about the parking brake service mode so was struggling with retracting the brake pistons. once in this mode doing the brake pads was a breeze

caliper to carrier 13mm bolts carrier to strut 15mm bolts rotor retaining bolt is a 50 torx

I did the procedure and the brakes retracted, but not far enough to install the new pads. The caliper would not depress, even with caliper tool. Any help appreciated!
