Can an English Cocker be trained for blood tracking?
Check the results of training a cocker spaniel to track wounded deer. I apologize for the shaking. One of our trainers decided to use a cell phone instead of our camera gear.

Blood Tracking Dog Training Results After 1 Week
Neither dog appeared to have alot of hunt drive, is that because they are only a week in or is that a breed thing? Wil they get more aggressive on the track the further along they get? I'm used to malinois for me it's the opposite. Thanks.
Are dragging a scent through the woods from beginning to end to make the trail?
When I get a call for a track where they have no sign, I get excited. I encourage them to look up to 150 or so. Lots are found that way without us having to even come.
How did you get the catahoula to track slowly? Mine wants to run/sprint the track.
Well done!
That dog looks like he's 20 years old(gray on his sides) I like the way he works slow, my bloodhound drags me all over the place, thanks for sharing 👍
He’s shedding like crazy. We had given him a bath the day before and all of that grey is loose hair. We had to brush him afterwards and it was bad.
Heck yeah
E’ vero che il 300 non prende molto bene in montagna?
We have seen some minor inaccuracies in the mountains.
Just bought a alpha 300 and trying to navigate, watched your video (several times)and went and laid a track, so far so good, thanks for sharing 👍
Glad it helped!
He di great I like the way he was taking his time while he worked it out 👍
Can you do more of these Garmin Videos? Any and all info for settings while training and actively tracking. I’m having a hard time navigating my 300. This video was wonderful
I will be doing some more soon
Pretty pup. Happens to the best of us. I like to have a strong recall before we’re in the woods. I hate waiting on a dog to come back and don’t want to lose one to who knows what.
We typically have a strong recall as well. In this case, the dog was not of age for collar conditioning, and we had limited time. Tracking is what the owner wanted us to focus on. She will be returning for us to collar condition.
@@BloodTrackingDogs I had one straight up leave me In the woods and go back to the truck once!
Good video, I think the catahoula is going to make the better dog👍
Great video, and no you can't let go of the lead line, I have a bloodhound that pulls like a tank, better not let go though are he's gone!gone.!!
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
That’s sure does make a lady proud as Hank’s breeder. #CrossfireCatahoulas 😍
Hanks getting big
For sure
Glad you made it buddy😂
😂
Do you think it is easier to work with dogs that have have the imprinting and “started” by the owner? Or do you feel as if you may have to correct issues that have started?? Or easier to start from the beginning?
It’s all situational. If done properly, it can make things easier. These two dogs had not training at all prior to. It’s about 50/50 as to how they come to us.
Love watching dogs work. Pretty impressive after 1 week!!
Thank you!
Awesome to see the pups get to work so early
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
