Jennifer at Creative Art Spark
Приєднався 14 лис 2010
Hello! Join me in an exploration of all things artistic! My name is Jennifer Marshall and I love mixed media, junk journals, paper crafts of any sort, as well as fiber arts! I have been a quilter for over 10 years, and slowly began to delve into the more creative side of quilting. If it can be sewn through, it will probably go on a quilt. If it can be glued or painted, expect to see it in my paper arts!
The Fifth Take! LOL
When at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. I don’t remember who said that, but this was the fourth or fifth attempt to film this. Bawhawhaw! So here is what you missed the first four times: I stamped Sunshine Bloom by Altenew in Grey Shadow and embossed with clear embossing powder onto Mixed Media paper. And I did the same with embossing ink and embossed with white powder. Then I watercolored and die cut. And then I ink blended a card panel with a stencil I made from a cover die, and embossing with embossing powder, then stenciled over that with embossing ink and re-embossed. That’s probably got you more than caught up! If you are brave, please watch, subscribe, give a happy comment and a thumb up! Thanks so much!!

Using a Sizzix Studio Stencil Set Designed by Vic Hollins

Join me as I use the “Ornate” stamp and stencil set by Vic Holling for Sizzix - the second time! If you watched my first attempt, you know I was not pleased my results, not due to the stencils, but due to my lack in ability. With some off-camera additions and adjustments, I really do now like what I ended up with. But today I want to try those same stencils using inks instead of acrylic paints!...

Also, I’m glad you decided to leave off the flower bits at the very bottom. It would be a good idea on another card, but here it was going to take away from your fun background paper.
If there had been more room at the bottom, my idea maaaaayyyyyyyy have worked, but I ended up liking them in the side. Except that I got too close to the bling bling with one of them. 🤪
Rice paper is FUN!
Love the card. I think there may be TWO water colorists in your family. And you’ve made me want to spend a day creating background papers with rice paper. And you’ve reminded me that I need to make some videos for my tiny channel; it’s been a couple of weeks!
lol! I’m so glad you like the card! I hit quite a few snags making it, didn’t I! And such a sweet compliment about the water coloring! Yes, girl! You need to make more videos!!
❤
I love your monthly decorations AND the holographic embossing powder. Speaking of trouble, I think our 12x12 music paper arrived today post snow storm. I’ll check for sure when we open on Thursday 😁
Thanks so much for watching! Can’t wait to see the music papers!!!
SMIDGE is such a great word. Love the way the card turned out. Beautiful!!
One of my favorite words! So glad you popped in for a visit! Thank you so much!!
Beautiful♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@Jaelynn-z9b awwww, thank you!! ❤️
Pretty!
Thank you so much!!
You’ve definitely inspired me to need some rice paper. My husband is very appreciative 😂. Love the card!!
LOL! I so sorry. NOT! Actually, that’s a very nice compliment, if I have inspired you to try something! Thanks!!
Hey Jennifer. I enjoyed your tutorial on the rice paper. You did great! It was a beautiful card.
@@teresawhite-nr3cc thank you, Teresa! I appreciate you watching!!
Love your video, you're so relaxed and creative! Thank you for sharing!
Awww, thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the video and your comment just plain made me smile!
Great video. I love all of the layers. I am sorry to say that I do not have any better coping mechanisms to suggest for you-other than eat chocolate between the layers 😂. Your methods are so much more CONstructive. Mine are more DEstructive.
Awww, thank you! As you can tell, I used the earring chocolate method for many many years! Hopefully this is a little bit healthier!
Love the marble-like vibe you achieve when you spritz on gesso. And of course I love that holographic embossing powder. That was a great find.
Bee-ay-you-tee-ful projects. I’m not sure you can legally use “encapsulate” and “smidgeon” in the same video, though. You are letting your education show through your southernisms 😂
@@glittergoblincrafts Bawhawhaw! Do I need to watch out for the language cops?
It may seem crazy to some of you that Jennifer talks to me throughout her video, but y’all, I asked her for this help on Saturday in the late afternoon. She did all of this research and prep and made this video for me on Sunday night. Somewhere in between she took care of her mama, practiced and played piano at church, and a million other things. She is amazing!!!!
@glittergoblincrafts awwww! Actually, I didn’t do anything except the research until Sunday night because I was in bed all day with a migraine. Research was Saturday nite. But I hope that you got some inspiration from my silly ramblings. And I totally forgot to make you a vellum envelope! Gonna have to make show notes! LOL. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I am listening! I’m a day or two behind, but I’m here! I was watching your lid at the end of the video. I kept waiting for you to pick it up and accidentally put it in the bag with your flowers 😁
@@glittergoblincrafts something I might just have done! lol! I did, however drop some flowers into the abyss otherwise know. As a floor! Bawhawhaw!
I was with you on thisaway and all the other ways until you got to yonway. NEVER heard o’ that ‘un afore.
@@glittergoblincrafts oh yeah! And don’t forget over yonder!
I only pick on your organization because you point it out in all of your videos. Otherwise I’d never know 😂
@@glittergoblincrafts I know - not to worry!
I have been BUSY lately and am behind on several of your videos. I hope to go back and watch them soon. I love your work. This book is beautiful!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it! Took a hot minute, but I like it! Thanks so much for watching!
I love the mouse! She is adorable. So glad you cleaned and found your lid. Haha. There’s no telling what I’d find if I cleaned my room. Bahaha. So glad you are enjoying the luster wax. It’s SHINY!!
Thanks for watching! You wouldn’t believe all the lost tools I found! But still no extra stencil holder. The elves must have carried it away!
Wow. I like the lace stencil! I will have to try the inks too
I had a lot of fun with it and hope that you do too! Thanks for watching!
I love how you adapt and change your course! That's such a great way to make art. Beautiful work as always Jennifer! 💕
No mistakes, only design opportunities! Thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful! Love it. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching and commenting! The journal was a lot of fun to make!
Haha. You DO have a code. SO. Jennifer 😁
It tickles me to death to have my own code!
Love the journals. You did a great job with each of them, and they’re all so different!
Thank you! So glad you like them!
Jennifer, thank you for all of your kind words! I absolutely love how your journal turned out. I cannot wait to see more from you! 💖
@@VicHollinsart oh, I am so pleased that you liked my project and very honored that you took the time to watch! Thank you!!
Absolutely lovely 🤩
Thank you!!!
I love it! Good job!
Thank you!!
Love the gemstone additions. That’s one thing I’m terrible at. I add too few or too many. I often make Emma do that part for me.
You know, I don’t feel like I’m too good at placing them either, but I am learning to embrace that and just enjoy the pop of sparkle!
Hey now! YOU are the one who showed ME the black holographic embossing powder. I didn't even realize it was there. I bought one too, though. Haha. Great stuff.
That stuff is the bee’s knees! The sparkle is unbelievable in real life!
Remember, in my directions, I'm telling you how I made MY card. I'm not telling you how YOU have to make YOURS. I like the edging that you did and the popping up! I love that you are showing people options.
LOL! I kinda March to my own little bagpipe anyway. So glad you are watching my videos!
This is cool. I want to try it in my spare time. I also want to see what other shapes you could use. Maybe a honeycomb for our bee loving friends.
Honeycomb is a Great Idea! And I've got a great idea on just how to make that work!!! Thanks so much for watching!!
Loved the video. And your journal cover turned out just beautifully!!
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you watching and commenting!!! 🤓
Love your unboxing and your commentary. I hope the stamp isn't TOO halloweeny for you. I was thinking of her as a scarecrow/harvest girl. the one pumpkin is a jack-o-lantern, but the rest are just pumpkins!
@@glittergoblincrafts thanks so much for watching! She isn’t too Halloweeny, I think I can have some fun with her, and like I said, I can mask her out if need be. But she’s cute! And I love the bicycle!!
Truly, I hope it didn’t come across badly - I didn’t mean for it to - I’m very sorry if it did. She actually made me think of one of Jaelynn’s dolls that I got her two years ago that she “just HAD” to have. 🤓❤
Thanks Jennifer. I’m picking up my box this afternoon. Yes, I totally agree, ScrappyShak is the best. Wonderful people!!!
Yes they are! Hope to see you tomorrow!!
It’s beautiful Jennifer
@@teresawhite-nr3cc thank you so much!!
Wow, Jennifer! I think you were pretty successful here (even if you didn't follow all of the directions). Thanks for the shoutout and for bringing my card to life. I loved seeing the triple embossing technique; I knew you could do that with Dyan Reevely's Dyamond Rocks, but I didn't realize it could be done with regular embossing powder.
Thank you, my friend! It was so much fun to make a card based on your design! Can’t wait to get over there and get my October box!
Amazing ✨
@@Jaelynn-z9b thank you!!

Thanks! I was playing with a group at church but since I don’t naturally play by ear, I felt WAYYYYY out of my depth. But I need to get back into it. The crazy grandma taking up bass guitar. Lol!
I wish I had had a chance to take this free challenge. Kasia has great color theory knowledge! I hope that what you learned has been useful to you!
It has been. Love her courses! There is something so captivating about the way she explains things. I was so glad to have stumbled on her Wanderlust courses. And she has several free courses as well.
Those little books take as much time to make as the big ones! 😂 You put a lot of time and effort into this little one!
It was actually a lot of fun to come up with things to add to a tiny book! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤓
Such a clever idea, it will be ideal for mini collages ❤
