Wow, this is amazing! I still remember dreaming as a kid about having a second analog stick on the PSP. Incredible job, seriously! Honestly, I still prefer the PSP over the PS Vita. I absolutely love this mod hopefully, one day I'll be brave enough to attempt installing it myself

I get you want to be fancy and try to find a purpose for your expensive 3D printer, but you could've just wired it up to a 3x18650 battery bank enclosure off aliexpress for $5. It's just a better solution. The battery bank I used has micro and type-c charging so it can be charged almost anywhere.

I've been watching a lot of usb c mods (autistic hyperfocus?) and i've noticed a lot of people have been doing them wrong, they almost never put the 5,1k resistors on cc pins. Without the resistors, it won't work with usbc-to-usbc cables, very important for modern powerbanks and laptops

i like that mod i wish i could do it myself great job and all maybe u can do a similar one for vita slim or old vita as well

its a shame there isnt an easy mod to remove touch controls from games like metroid prime hunters and just have it be the buttons so we could use a psudo joystick

could even 3D print a shell that has a octagon housing around the joystick so you can get precise 8 directions movement

It's mostly the host controller that does all the work. The PSP has no idea whether or not you soldered four wires to its port or stuck a USB-C. Took on a MAX3421E project with a device that is supposed present itself as a HID device or a serial. My God, the amount of code and pain that goes into that is just excessive. Thought about using a Raspberry Pi instead of a simpler Arduino build which doesn't come with a host controller but I am determined to make the Arduino work instead lol On the plus side you get to learn how to make evil devices in the process like something that claims to be a network card but totally isn't.
