Great to see and hear you, Pastor Mike! In consideration of my own peace of mind I quit watching the news -- ANY news -- over a year ago. Consequently, my take on this virus is somewhat untainted by the media. Being well aware that MILLIONS died 100 years ago from some flu epidemic (yet the United States, Europe, and the rest of the world carried on) I have dismissed this whole scare (involving some 4,000 dead) as "too bad -- what else is new?" Meanwhile, the entire Christ-rejecting world has turned itself upside down; and it is distressing to see that Our Lord's Church (in many cases) has followed suit! In fact, you and your congregation are one of the few Christian churches who have NOT buckled under (as far as I can tell)! -- but have carried on sensibly, cautiously, and intelligently addressing this issue without going off the deep end. 7.5. billion people in this world have suddenly become seriously affected by this virus which has killed less people than ordinary flu every year! Millions of folks who depend on a weekly paycheck to feed their families are suddenly without an income because the media has encouraged an hysterical reaction to an unidentified potential epidemic. Panic is the result -- and panic is MORE destructive than any virus. The panic over this virus has caused more damage than any "pandemic" could ever cause because (as I read my Bible) there is NO Revelation Chapter 23 which describes the "end" coming about because of a virus. Last week I mentioned to my wife that interest rates must go to zero -- in fact, since billions (if not a trillion) dollars will be entering the banks in the next few days because panicked people have sold stocks, and the dollars from those sales must end up in the banks which do NOT need it, and people have quit purchasing goods and services so the dollars will sit there gathering dust, it follows necessarily that a stagnant economy will be the MOST destructive thing that could happen to the majority of the world's citizens! Thanks, Pastor Mike, for having and sharing such a circumspect, sensible overview of this entire situation. Normally, I would not take up so much space here -- but I'm a fast typist; and I am grateful to God that you have nailed it! Panic is the MOST severe problem the world faces at this time! ...not the C-virus. Even if one fourth of the world's people were to succumb to this virus, "panic" is still NOT the proper response. In Isaiah chapter six Our Lord God was seen on His throne in glory and in total control over His creation! As you pointed out nothing has changed. He is still in control, He is MY Shepherd ...I shall not want.

"The bible assumes god exists" "Im starting with the presupposition that god exists" I guess being as unscientific as humanly possible is a good way to start out trying to prove things scientifically... although it seems somewhat illogical to make the evidence to conform to your beliefs instead of making your beliefs conform to the evidence. In other words, Guilty until proven innocent. I stopped watching after about 10 mins because this went downhill fast.

TOO STUPID FOR SCIENCE? TRY RELIGION!

At 6:00 scripture is quoted , not saying anything clear nor concrete. Then it is portrayed as "fascinating verse" and meaning is forced trough interpretation. This is like being at awe at the beautiful art depictions of faces and animals found.... in cloud shapes. This interpretation is like person who really wants to "see a bunny" and then hunts for the closest shape in the sky.

I first heard Mike preach and got to know him about 46 or so years ago. I was a young man and so was he. This was at our (and his) home church in Tennessee. He was a traveling evangelist at the time. I've learned a lot from his preaching. It is good to see that he still has that gift for explaining God's Word and making it clear and practical. I wanted to let him know that Bill Gustafson has gone through a battle with cancer. I didn't know if he was aware of it. Bill was our pastor at that time. I know that he would want to pray for him and maybe call him. May God continue to bless your ministry. Ronnie Nichols
