Not quite. John only gave one rule to Parker which was not to grab the gun. I’m sure John had anticipated that Parker would end up forcing him and Amanda into the bloodboard trap (although Carlos was forced on it) and that their greed would easily lead them to seek out the money in the other room. Like John said “If you are good at anticipating the human mind it leaves nothing to chance” John already knew they would both end up in the room.

Was hoping the same thing!! BUT she ends up living and escaping that room. It's in a deleted scene for the movie. Rumor has it, she is wanting revenge in the next movie.

@@CraftBattleAxe - I did watch the movie. What reason did they give that it wouldn't be true? Unless by "why they didn't" you're referring to their arrogant personalities, similar to Saw 5. Besides John saying that only 1 could survive --and I know John is so infallible at everything-- , there is no logical reason for it. Obviously, it's a breathable poison. As long as you're not breathing in (holding breath) you won't be taking in toxin. We could compare this to real-life gasses, like sarin (used in Japanese subway attack) or Zyklon B (used in the Holocaust chambers) .... but it doesn't matter, given it's nature. They could take turns and wait out the clock. ... I'm really surprised no one else seems to be pointing this out.

Several of the saw movies have traps, where if people worked together, they could easily survive, that’s the point people are dumb, and they only care about themselves so instinctually they try to save themselves and to hell with anyone else lol

@@tomarmstrong1591 - Saw 5, yes. But those initial traps weren't so obviously meant for cooperation. This trap (breathing hole) seemed so obvious. Especially for someone with a supposed medical background.

@@winterhaydn It didn't really matter. There were no bullets in the gun and John and Amanda were pretending to be chained up. Cecelia was anxious to get the money and get out of there.

@@JDivinorumVideo - Yes. I'm just saying, it's a bad old trope - the villian leaves before ensuring the threat is dealt with.

@@winterhaydn I assumed their plan was to leave them tied up. They're not killers, they're scammers. They might have been able to avoid fraud charges, but murder charges are a bit harder to avoid.

Correction. Parker was not a killer (presumably). Cecilia: yes. Killed Gabriella to get more money, and killed Parker to save herself... brutally (they could have taken turns to go through the hole). Cecilia was the worst of them all. Kept the charade up until her defeat, refused to change, and most likely now, until she somehow gets out, she will be held accountable because John left no evidence of him being there, and with the bodies and no alibi, she may be set up to take the fall on the other dead bodies (she did murder Parker after all)

The reason he did that. Is because he KNEW they would look for the money FIRST since that's what she really cared about. That's why the door was closed later. He knew she couldn't resist checking if the money is there. He knew she cared most about the money...
