Like many other people here I have a lot of nostalgia for this song. I remember when I first got a Gamecube. I think I was probably 10 years old or so. It was Christmas 2004. I'm almost 31 now so the details are fuzzy but I seem to remember not even anticipating getting the console but my mom and dad revealed it later in the evening which blew my mind. The two games they got for us with it were Super Smash Bros Melee (hell yeah) and Sonic Mega Collection. I was never a huge Sonic fan. I played some of the games over the years but I was never crazy into it. I remember not being terribly impressed with Mega Collection because it was all old Sonic games which my 10 year old brain thought was lame and I wanted to play the cool new stuff like Adventure and Heroes and all that, but I still played many of the games in Mega Collection over the next few years. I remember sitting in my brother's room, where the Gamecube was set up for a while, and going through all the comics in the gallery with him with this music playing. I remember thinking how nice the music was even as a child. I didn't at the time anticipate that I'd be looking it up 20 years later, dealing with painful levels of nostalgia for a better time in my life. I recall those memories and everything seemed way more interesting and fun. I'm a bitter, lonely, depressed adult now. The thought of having fun with a simple game seems impossible to me now, but it wasn't always that way. Sometimes I come back to this song and remember days when I was happy and the world seemed a better place, when I could just slap in a game and play it for hours. When I thought I'd be happy in the future too. Take me back to those days.

This is honestly my favorite Alarmo theme to wake up to.

Wow, this is crazy. It's been almost 22 years since this masterpiece has been released on GameCube. I remember the extras menu and looking through the artwork. Strangely enough at the time it made me feel like I had experienced soo much more Sonic content than what was available at the time. I love the Sonic franchise but this collection of classics will always hold a special place in my heart.
