That’s why I prep a road and get a drag
With a root style supercharger do I still have yo delete the ac on the car?
No, but packing can be a nightmare. You will have to push out the blower drive system to put in serpentine/v-belt pulley to run your accessories. It can be done, many have done it. I personally have provisions for 1 vbelt to drive my alternator. Check with Good Vibrations in California or Alky Digger in Nashville for more information.
Chris sure was excited when he got the news at the trailer that he was indeed the number one qualifier. Great job all weekend.
Gotta take a win no matter how small! The whole weekend went my way for the most part!
Guys yall did an amazing job on this video!!! im sure yall have impacted alot of ppls cars n lives with this video, an ya might not ever know how many but right here is ONE! thank you guys so much! great video!
Thanks for the kind comment. I am glad we have helped you out.
Super pumped for you guys. The "TEAM" had a good year.
Yes we did! Hope to see you next year!
Congrats on your weekend. This helps all of us. Good job! Looking forward to your offer season videos.
Thank you! It’s been an adventure!
Love the truck man!
Thanks!
? For you. If you ran on alcohol will it severe as a cooler for the blower and keep it cool. Another being is it ok to run a high output electric fuel pump for the blower?. Thanks
The main purpose of alky is to have a cooler intake charge, it also intern keeps the blower cool. A high output pump will work well with carbs or EFI injected blower.
@@bloodbrothersracing thank you for for sharing and educating us with your great experience and knowledge.
So was the TB solenoid the problem or the 6 cyl setting? Regardless, for all the problems you had, round 1 was not too far out of the ball park. See you guys in BG.
It was the 6cyl setting which I guess didn’t go on and describe. So what was happening was it was getting false(too high) rpm. So when I got on the trans brake the false RPM was reading past where the shifter solenoid would engage 2nd gear. That’s why it appears to hold for a second then take off before green
Mistake = lesson learned
I think I am just gonna get all my mistakes out this year and next year be mistake free
Between rounds checklist ???😮
We do sorta have that but what changed here was something that never gets changed so there was no reason to check it…but I certainly will everytime now! Totally screwed up my whole weekend
It's refreshing that you share in- depth the challenges of drag racing. We learn from our mistakes. Good luck at your next race.
Every time it’s something different! But yes we learn from them and move on….
Hello Blood Brothers, I had my 392 Hemi built by Hemi Haines out of Sarasota Florida about 10 years ago for my 56 Vette and he has dropped out of sight. The blower from The Blower Shop, I called them and asked why does this blower whine so much and the reply was some do and some don't. Can you add to this? Only recently, have I began to get the car ready for what I had originally intended... to drive it over the weekends and possibly a few long trips of a few thousand miles. Yes, the car does heat up and I tried a larger aluminum radiator, added a puller fan, put in a new water pump...still runs hot. So, I am glad to hear that alot of the heat is just from the blower. I appreciate your thoughts. Michael
The whine can come from the blower itself and the amount of boost you are pushing. Belt tension also plays a factor in it. The tighter it is, the more whine *generally*. However too tight of a belt can cause damage under load. Good rule of thumb is 3/4”-1” side to side movement on the long side of the belt. As far as heat, they produce a lot! And as you know there is no coolant flowing through it. It also acts as a heat sink from the block. If you keep the block cool, you may be able to bring some of the heat down off it.
Know about blown budgets and blower cost. Got a BDS stage 2 8-71 for ls cathedral port heads, 1200hp efi kit using a terminator max ecu. Intake up alone cost me over 14k
It’s not cheap by any means! If it was everyone would have one!
@bloodbrothersracing a drug habit would be cheaper lol.
Keep your head up! You got this.... See you guys in Bowling Green.
Thanks! See you there buddy!
If this shit was easy everyone would do it. Keep your head up dude. Every round win or lose is another lesson learned. Good. Bad. Doesn’t matter. It’s about learning. Driving the finish line even tho you went red was an excellent move. Your time is coming and so is Chris’ time. The all blood brother final is gonna happen!! Take that to the bank!!
We appreciate the motivation, and the conversations that we get to have with you and your family. Sooner or later dumb luck will prevail!
Great video explained it well truthfully and honestly, thanks 4 putting the effort in.. regards Johnny australia...
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
👍🏻
Great video. Especially to a new to the scene person. Thank you
Enjoyed talking to you at St Louis Chris. Thanks for the stickers.
@1320quick I enjoyed it too! We will see you down in Bowling Green!
&that's why people say that's racing 😮 just like painting a car something's gonna get you 😅
It’s racing for sure….definitely don’t do it if you expect to win every time!
Looking forward to your next race. Good luck. You've got this!
Thanks buddy!!
Hello can you talk about the drive pulley and crankshaft pulley tell how big how small what not to get?
Your lower pulley dictates the range of pulleys you can use for what boost level on top. I personally use the smallest pulley I can fit with my crank support which is a 57 tooth. Prior to the support I used a 55. Ideally I should have a 53-55 tooth on the bottom for my setup because I am maxed out on the size on top to lower boost to meet my index. Does this make sense or should I do a video later this year that will explain it further?
@@bloodbrothersracing i would like to see that video and THANKYOU for your info
Used to be ASE cert for suspension/alignments. Of course I had a nice computerized alignment setup. You are correct; more positive caster, less camber. I also used weights to simulate the driver in the race car which will change your settings. You did a great job explaining everything.😊
Thank you!
Man I’ve seen that issue before in a couple dirt cars. Never in a drag car but hell I guess I haven’t seen it all yet lol. Great save buddy and great video
Never seen it happen before but it broke at a weak point. Glad the motor wasn’t hurt!
@@bloodbrothersracing yes sir ! Good eye
Glad the engine didn't hurt. Sorry I missed you Corey when I stopped by your trailer. I was in St Louis with my Nova to run Modified Production. Had a pretty crazy weekend for the first time out with the car in NDRL. I did see notice on in car video that we have oil PSI dropping too low during decel so I gotta address that. Won't see you guys in MI but we will be in Bowling Green.
Make sure to come see us at BG!
Thanks for the video Corey. Went for a wild ride in St Louis last week so I will be checking these things on my Nova to make sure all is well. Didn't see you when I stopped by and chatted with Chris. Sorry to hear about the oil pressure issue on the truck. Thanks for the cards and stickers Chris.
Your welcome! Did you get any video of your wild ride?
Good luck !
I feel your pain brother, it's really hard to lose by such a close margin, especially when you had it in the bag...
Oh I definitely had that one in n the bag! Lessons learned!
Excellent video! I am also just getting back into racing after a very long 40 year break. I'm running a bone stock 2022 Dodge Challenger 1320 that runs mid 11's at our local track, so most of these rules do not apply, however, this video is awesome, thank you!
That will be a fun ride down the strip! You should do good…keep her consistent and you will be good. Learning in the fun part which I do every time I race!
I’ve had tech inspectors check to see which side of the switch the alternator is connected to. You could hook the alternator up and the engine will keep running even with the kill switch off
Makes sense…..but we have never that extreme of a tech inspection!
@@bloodbrothersracing I haven’t in a while with NHRA doing self tech at divisional, regional, and national events
Great video and I learned some. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I’ve seen the blood brothers many times, both cars have great character, last I saw was at Summit Motorsports Park. Great races!
Thanks for the kind words! Next time you see us stop by and say hi!
😂😂😂 how many whomps was it again ?😂😂
2s not enough, and 3 is to many. :) Thanks for commenting my man.

Probably one of the best videos you done! Love it! Almost there!!!
Thanks 4 the cool vids.
We love making them.
Dude great job with the editing! Badass video
Man your videos have been a Godsend with all the information you have.
Glad to be of help.
Hey…I got your $20 you dropped at my trailer….guess that “ on paper “ don’t lie sometimes huh?! 😂🫶🏻
Dont call it a come back. :)
It’s a double edged sword we play with down there sometimes. I gave it back in the final by .003 pedaling 1 1/2. Yea…a half whomp and a half whomp to many! Your day is coming tho. Seeing these passes, your time is coming soon. Pro Gas is by far the toughest class out there and you’re making waves. #stopthewhomp 😂
@robbiefreels1057 thanks for the encouragement brother!
My favorite is a lil more unusual. A 1966 Cadillac MH600 hearse.
Would LOVE to have one of those
@@bloodbrothersracing I had one. Piece of shit cop stole it an wrecked it.
I was listening very closely to everything and I know the older blower is a 6v71 but didn’t say the new race blower is a 871 or 1071?
@tyler brown yes the new blower is a BDS 8-71. Thanks for watching!
this was good thank you
Glad you liked it!
😂
i havent heard anything wrong , ive gone through an 8v71 , diesel blower , lol first one i ever purchased , then i learned all the adapters and fabricating as well , expensive . then i picked up a weiland 871 , for a bbc, still building motor for it , also tripped over a mini 250 fully kitted with carbs and hat, not sure what thats going on yet but it looks good on my kitchan table lol expensive hobby !! and im just a beginner , some of these guys go full bore , blown hemis , twin bbc with 1071 blowers on boats , aparently im in the welfare section of hot roddinh 😂😂😂
Real race cars have 3 pedals.
We don't disagree. In a class full of power glides and trans brakes it's hard to be competitive with a clutch car.
Nice job guys. Looks like you will be ready for Norwalk.
Hell yah man! You coming to Norwalk I hope?
I can smell that nitrous! 😂
