Before and After. I used a wind meter to measure flow. The camera really doesn't justify just how loud the difference is. Any questions or anything feel free to ask!!

    Thanks for the video. I couldn't find the specks on the 1996, but the 1999 which is second generation too said 129ftlbs torque? I slowly brought up the torque to 129ftlbs and it seemed to run freely all the way up without any drag.... I paid under $20 for both bearings. Mine had seals on both sides of both bearings. The bearings I took out didn't have any seals at all. I can't believe they lasted for so many years without having any seals!

      i find the ones without seals last longer as the grease flows better

    if the drum wont come off, you can reattach the wheel and try to pull it off that way.

    You can reuse the nut a few times, then swap them from left to right and reuse it a few more times.

    Thank you for this video . I drive my boyfriend's Geo metro alot, so I get to help with maintenance and repairs. We had to order the bearings a day before, and during the wait I watched your video. He changed one side and watched me do the other side. He said he was impressed. It felt great .

    the new angle flesher is greatmfor woodies, teal, small ducks, but big divers and geese will stop the wheel before it removes fat, Just my experience.

      The boat is too wide to fit between a pickup truck’s bed rails. Plus the boat is very heavy for its size when compared to a aluminum jon boat. I wouldn’t recommend it

    To get this done at a shop will cost you between $300 and $500 or about $50 to do it yourself following the video.

    Is there two guys in it wen u do the second run with the bigger carb? Also won't it tear up the engine running more rpms than it's supposed to with that bigger carb?

    • @_Kitchen_
      @_Kitchen_ 4 роки тому

      Mr. Skeptical yes 2 people were in it for the last run. And no it doesn’t hurt anything, that year 9.9hp evinrude is just a detuned 15hp. All the parts are the same except the carb and exhaust tube.

    I agree that they say you shouldn't reuse the nut but in a pinch swapping them side for side will give you a fresh area on the nut to stake it back on the spindle. Thanks for the post.

    • @Manfromron

      Setting the hub on a couple of 2x4's will keep your wheel studs from popping out when yer wacking the socket with the hammer. Ask me how I know this.

    So just by installing a 15 hp carb. on a 9.9 makes it a 15? I thought u had to bore it out or something. Would just running a 15 hp be any faster?

    • @shanester8712
      @shanester8712 4 роки тому

      The internal of 9.9 and 15 are the same. Supposedly you have to change carb axe nd exhaust. Other than that both are same motors

    Great video! Question: did you tighten the nut 'till the inner race of the outer bearing mates with the spacer, or do you have to press/hammer the outer race down all the way?

    @zheneggmobile 5 років тому

    the torque, while important has nothing to do with preload or lash. the "collar" as you called it is actually a spacer so when you tighten the nut the force of the nut goes through the inner race of the outer bearing, then the spacer, then the inner race of the inner bearing and then to the spindle. making one solid mass. the outer races are just friction/slip fit in the wheel hub/rotor. any preload or lash is built into the bearing and not affected by the torque or tightness of the nut

One thing I would add that you don't share on your video is that the bearing are not sealed bearing and need to be packed with grease. Ben Barrera the bearings that I purchased were already packed with grease. If you buy a set that has not been packed I recommend using universal bearing grease.
