Not a thing "dark" about these classical pieces. The tag is click bait, nothing more
@@sathya999 as I told, it is an algorithm test. But I had to make this video, because there is so large amount of poor "dark organ playlist" videos, which have horrible, one-sided repertoire (usually some crappy synthesizer bach fugues) what shows just how little the maker knows about actually scary sounding organ pieces or organ music overall. These certain pieces which I specifically chose, some seldom heard or even known, have a musical element to them which makes them sound ominously spooky, chaotic or uncanny, thus authentically producing a landscape of horror- not purposefully, as music in horror movies is, for example. I think this non-intended "scary" effect makes the pieces even more scary. These pieces are also simply "dark" because they tend more to the "horror movie music" side, than the "happy flower field music" side. Aren't "ghosts" and "wisps" considered dark ? You get it if you get it.

Wow this is just superb. I have done quite some tinkering on my Cavaillé-Coll inspired Hauptwerk composite, which I think sounds pretty great, but this is just goes many levels beyond my work. The tutti sound is shockingly similar to the real deal. In that, it definitely surpasses the way the Aristide composite imitates St. Ouen. I hope you'll somehow be able to fix the massive amount of noise though, and maybe you can get a better reverb (I always send my Hauptwerk audio to a carefully tweaked Cinematic Rooms patch in my DAW, which actually sounds better than any convolution reverb that I have tried). However, congratulations for this awesome achievement, I'm baffled. It would be great to use this in/for my compositions. If you ever plan to release it, I'll be there waiting in line to get it!
@@JulesSchattenberg thank you Jules! The noise comes from the 12 bit sound adding some weird static in certain samples. It fortunately disappears >16 bits. My computer is just not good enough :D
@@henrikheikkinen Ah well, hopefully you can upgrade the pc sometime :)
Dear Master, your attempt to virtually recreate the prodigious organ of Notre Dame de Paris seems perfectly successful thanks also to yourunquestionable ability to perform. I notice that your barefoot feet rule the pedal very well and I guess this is one of the reasons why you always play without the organist shoes, besides, of course, the greater comfort. Certainly playing barefoot gives you the opportunity to develop your foot and leg muscles so that you have possibilities that shoes would prevent. My best compliments.
@@carloDeGiovanni-id4gk thank you for your comment. Although I am heartwarmed by your "master" title, I would not consider myself such. I am most happy if you have enjoyed the video and are delighted by it. I have noticed that playing without shoes is similar to craftmanship traditions in japan: they often use their feet to grab a workpiece, instead of a vise or a holder. I believe this is due to having complete control of the workpiece by feeling it with your nerve-endings. I consider this to be the same. Playing barefoot enables you to map the pedal area better than with shoes, as you feel more of the surface.
why does the background shift around?

No serious organist plays the organ in stocking feet!
@@michaelhoerig5920 I am not a serious organist, funny enough. I consider it more practical than clonky shoes - if I can play Dupre without shoes, then I dont see the problem here
@@henrikheikkinen Organ shoes are not 'clonky'. They are made specifically for pedal playing. I'm trying to help you. I'm sure you've observed many organists, both live and on UA-cam, and never do you see one playing without shoes. Do you have a teacher?
@@michaelhoerig5920 I could practice using them, but I am really fine without them. I know that it may not open the doors for every concert opportunity, but that is not an issue- reciting is not my purpose . I am self-taught and continue that route. But thank you :)
@@henrikheikkinen You play well and could be a great organist. Get some organ shoes and fine-tune your pedal technique. A great teacher would be invaluable.

Todella hieno sample sinulla ja hienosti sitä esittelet.😊 Itsekin olen rakennellut erilaisia komposiitteja muutaman vuoden ajan.

@@henrikheikkinen romanttisen tyylin samplen olen tehnyt SonusParadisin Caen, Utrech ja Doesburg demoista. Lisäksi monia demoja laajentanut, joista yksi suosikkini on Billerbeck. Kanavaltani löytyy muutamia soitettuja kappaleita eri sampleilla. Huomiona, että soittotaitoni on vain itse hankittua.;)
@@lassihaaraniemihienoa. Ranskalaisbarokkisissakin on hienoja ääniä, niitä on mukava sekoittaa romanttisiin. Ja mukava kun kuulee muiltakin virsiä ja lauluja eri sampleilla soitettuna :)
Thanks for the nice introduction, demo and information. You have so great set-up there.
Thank you so much for the wonderful presentation of this remarkable instrument! Especially your improvisations were most enjoyable :) . While containing significantly less historic pipework compared to the instrument at Notre Dame, the organ at St Eustache seems to share quite some of its conceptual ideas. In particular, it also features harmonic pyramids at 32, 16, and 8 pitch (plus, one composed entirely out of harmonic flutes). May I ask you how you would compare those two instruments?
@@friedemannhahn9354 hi, thank you! I do not know so much about the history of the organ at st eustache, but the sound structure really is similar. I would consider eustache to be more carillon-like due to its special mutations, neuviemes especially. Its has also a much more wet sound, and overall pleasantly mysterious presence. I like how its chamades blend to the sound rather than in notre dame, although i like it too. Its a bit like ouen + ND.

What samples did you use to build these powerful organs? If I may ask?
@@ignacypiecyk7604 hi, it is unfortunately not public knowledge. But I can say a lot of stop audio editing was done.
If you don’t disclose the sample sets which went into this production how can we trust you?
Is the composite really so realistic that one would think its not a composite but edited recordings of the real one / some kind of AI :D? If so, I am very honored. Or what did you mean by trust by this case? The undisclosement is just for now because It has been a process and I have been a bit careful during the years for anyone not to copy it, so basically it is a holdover from the past. I may change it, but not yet sure.
