Here is an over view of what we did! 1- strip the tank of any loose rust/ paint down to bare metal. 2 - clean tank fully inside and out with a degreaser. 3- use Por-15 metal prep on inside and out of the tank and teat whole...

Thanx for saving this galant… I am coming from the TikTok page
Hi. I know it's 4 years late, but could you please tell me where the 2 hose pipes come from? I have mucked up mine, so I'm just trying to get things back in place. Thanks
Which hubs are you running?
Im.reallly enjoying this series.
Coming along well!
Build looks so good! I, too, love seeimg the car transform like youve donr with this car. STM, sponsor this man!
I use a wrap for my wire hsrnesses where it looks exactly like electrical tape but neither side is sticky. Looks really nice.
We need more people to save these cars. Im hoping to save one some day. I do wish you painted the engine bay green though.
Im liking this!
Im enjoying this build!
I have one in jamaica not for sale am looking for things for it
Excellent video really helped me out thx heaps.
The 2JZ-GE iacv is in a shitter spot, there are no videos online how to take it out :(
Great job bro. Love the vr4
Fill it with pennies, get a friend, roll, shake and shuffle it around and it should remove the loose stuff. Do it with a solvent if it doesn't do enough.
I’m gonna try that! I’m super bummed about the liner not working out. It kind of delayed the build a whole lot. I’m gonna try to really try to get as much as possible out. I really don’t want to clog my fuel system
Jafro the legend has commented ❤
I dunno what gives? I 100% clicked THIS video yesterday and ended up seeing a completely different video of yours. I know that made my comment sound really weird.
Haha what the heck! UA-cam has been weird lately tbh. I was kinda confused but makes sense now 🤣
It lookss sick🔥
I appreciate it!!
Awesome job! I cannot wait until I get my house in Colorado. It will make working on my cars so much easier compared to here in Germany.
Hell yea buddy! I will say it is much easier to work on your car state side!
Looks awesome! Great job!
🙏Almost there! Stoked to see it run!
You're doing the right thing getting in front of it. My Elantra's crankcase, not the coolant system, was full of rust when it was left in my driveway with the keys & title in it. The block had sat in a field under a collapsed pole barn for 4 years before it got drug out with a tractor, hosed off, wire brushed, and put back together again (with the waterlogged bearings that were never even removed from it). It made it about 6k hard miles before it blew up and then I got the luxury of rebuilding it the right way. Some argue I shouldn't have, but the car is just too much fun when it works. I couldn't help it? You can probably save the block, but I don't know about the crank? I've got a brand new 6-bolt Eagle crank you can have if you think it will fix your problem. I measured it in one of my videos where you see like 4-5 crankshafts on the bench in the thumbnail. I didn't use it. I don't need it.
Look up Raven baffle kit
Bosch Part Number 17025 is the AEM O2 sensor replacement. Find that at any auto parts store! Good stuff, by the way!
Check 3si or 3s wiki the baffles can be removed to clean below and put back in
I am so glad UA-cam suggested another galant vr4 build to me. Subscribed Keep up the good work. I love seen these cars saved.
Ayy! Glad you found the Chanel! And I agree they all must be saved!
Good stuff brother! Keep it up, almost there! 🙌
Thank you!! Soon enough! We will be on the road!
Came over from the Jafro recommend! Much love from the VR4 rivals, an Integrale and GC Impreza 😊❤
Thanks for stopping by! I’m a sucker for old Hondas and subis!
@@Jspecrutz no the Lancia type of Integrale 😉
I like seeing people working with what they have and going the extra mile! Keep up the good work!
Thanks man!! I really appreciate it!
Sometimes you have that golden opportunity to do the thing you wanted to do. You deeed it! I was your 15th view but it was on my TV so I had to watch from a different thing I can comment from to say *Great Jearghb!*
Haha thanks for the support man! I really appreciate it a lot!!
So once you slosh your paint round inside you really wanna use your air gun to clear your breather tube, and the bigger tube that feeds your internal baffled area where your fuel pick up is. Try blow through your breather now and see if it’s blocked.
So I did not show it in the video but I taped off the breather tube on the inside of the tank. Just so nothing would get into the tube! I’ll blow it off again just to make sure tho!
Sweet! But yer I would check all the others, especially the one inside the tank, or you may not get any fuel once it’s under 1/4 tank. I’d be amazed tho if the actual breather that’s right up the very top (not the fuel return) isn’t blocked tho
Good ass video, I didn't know a gas tank could be such a pain it looks great and is worth the time to not have to worry about it again
Thank you! Yea it’s annoying when there’s not many GVr4s around and they all tend to rust out
I will check mine out. Seems to be same issue. Thank you
Hey mate, what are the part numbers of the seals you replaced on the gearbox and transfer case?
Very nice car I want to buy it when I'm adult!
Keep it up bro! Can't wait to hear that thing run! 🙌
Me too!!!
Looking good i just started a Vr4 revival myself very helpful watching you and Jafromobile
Dude that’s awesome! Happy to hear another VR4 gets to live! Thanks for the support bro!
Looks killer my man... keep it up!! Inspiring me to get mine completed. In socal. 987/2k cheers 🤙
Thanks bro! I always advocate for reviving VR4s! Get her done!

Wish I had that 2 car garage space😮💨😂
Haha even with the 2 car I find my self needing more space 😅😅
I really enjoy that color scheme 😊 and yes reverse is a burden for some odd reason
I appreciate it! Took a lot of brain power to choose the colors lol! And I figured! All my DSM buddy’s have all said the same.
Man, you're getting a lot done fast! Happy Friday!
Slowly but surely! Happy Friday!!
Hell yeah it’s gonna be ripping in no time, the valve cover and turbo matching with the bronze powder coat looks great!
I’m hoping to get a first stat soon! Seems like the more I get done the more that comes up to do!
@@Jspecrutz ...and the more stuff you can't find that you know you had earlier... it was right there... where did it go?
vr4 engine? where is it? this f!!king 4 inline bro
It’s a 6 bolt 4g63 that is going in my galant vr4
old vr4 come with 4g63 bro
Oh snap! You've already got the 4 bolt rear! Good deal, man! I'm waiting on one damn boot. Thanks for the heads up on the subframe bushings!
Yea thankfully the 4 bolt came with the car already! And yea no problem! They are killler!
At 10:47, there's a stud on your coilover visible just above the rotor. The factory struts had brackets right there for the brake lines. You're supposed to mount the brake line to that bracket half-way up there where that grommet/fitting thing is in the middle of the line. Your factory strut brackets should bolt onto that thing if you can still find them.
Oh dang thanks for the info! I’ll try to see if I still have my original ones!
Cant wait to see this thing run! 🤙🏼
Me too! Getting closer by the day!
W season, fingers crossed youll be ripping this thing by spring
Fingers crossed!!
🙌 coming together!. Brakes looks sick! Are you running 17" wheels?
Thanks! Im going to be running evo 8 wheels. I believe they are 18inch.
Keep it up! Can't wait to see the finished product, gona be a sick car! Question, when you had the engine built did it have the strait cut oil pump gears, and did you keep or remove the oil squirters? I've heard that the helical cut ones work their way out if you deleted the balance shafts, and for the oil squirters if you removed/blocked those off it causes very high oil pressure causing the bearings to lift even if you did the oil mod to the block. A guy I know builds 4g63's for a living and over some conversations at times he brought up some issues that happen that some shops don't know about if you had a shop do it or your self. But look's great not many people would put in the effort to make this a good car again.
So I do believe I have oem straight cut gears. I bought the short block fully assembled already. It was done by a shop FFW. Also I still have oil squirter also. It dose have the balance shaft deleted , to combat high oil pressure I ported my oil filter housing . I’m hoping our oil pressure is not to high lol.
@@JspecrutzSick, sounds like this 4g will be an absolute tank of engine. It’ll definitely hold up the the abuse! What are you doing for the trans? I know it’s near impossible to find evo 3 gears etc for these other then a stock rebuild. I read somewhere the late jdm not US dsm trans from 96+ have all the evo 3 goodness. So if it breaks and your looking to upgrade I’d look into those as donor trans if you can find out they have evo 3 internals. Can’t wait for the finished product!
yea im hoping that the engine will hold up im hoping for 4-500hp! and for trans it is a stock unit. i have a spare but i hope it holds up lol. if we keep poping trans i might try to find a built one. lets hope it dose not go that far lol @@roboduck9760
@@Jspecrutz lol sounds good, just stay away NLS and it should stay together! Best of luck...Love the Journey so far.
