      For a big enduro bike I feel that it climbs well. Not much pedal bob. Very similar to the RM Instinct. I think most modern enduro bikes probably climb pretty well? Cheers! Ride on 🤘

      @@notmmmboppYeah those will be sweet! I have resisted upgrading much. With nine bikes, I usually wait until something breaks before upgrading. I’m guessing your bike is much lighter than mine with carbon frame and carbon wheels, that would be nice. Ride on 🤘

    I didn't know you took a hard crash but have watched your channel since last fall when I spent a month in WP/Fraser. I found out later that we bought the same Rocky Mountain Altitude out there. I did take a somewhat hard crash in the Idlewild area. I don't think it was as hard as your accident but it took 9 months for my shoulder to heal. I hope you keep making your videos as I have enjoyed them, especially the ones in WP/Fraser. My son and I are going out there a week after Labor day and am super stoked to be going back with him. Hoping you heal fast! Take care and ride on!

    Nice story. I wish I had photos of my youth. I’m 52 a little older than you. My first real BMX bike was a Hutch pro racer in 1983. Then I had 3 different Trick stars. My last bike was a white Haro sport. I got the most air on the quarter pipe with my Haro sport. I was heavier than my trick stars. I think 8 ft was my most air over the coping I ever got. I had a baby blue PK I traded my lavender trick star for. I placed second in state “semi pro” at lemore ca race track track in 1988. Most of my youth we lived in Alexandria Va.. I got to visit Rockville BMX in Rockville MD, a few times . It was pretty close to our house on the military base we lived on. My brother had a few trick stars, a sick Mongoose ,factory Pro class frame and fork. He build a sick race bike out of that. He had a green Haro master, mongoose Californian. His pink Hutch trick star was pretty nice. I mostly stuck with Hutch frames. And built awesome bikes. My favorite bike I had was my Candy blue Hutch Trick Star. I had all hutch parts, except my redline flights. I wish I hadn’t given that to Shane in VA. I felt bad for him. His parents got him a hutch wind styler for Christmas. I thought that was a fake Japan bike at the time. I had just purchased a lavender trick star frame and fork with matching hutch Dominguez bars and H stem. So I gave my blue frame and fork , bars and stem to Shane. Lucky Shane. I wonder if he still has it.

    The Instinct and Altitude are probably too much bike for the trail you rode. You could probably get away with a hard tail on that trail and still be fine.

    • @DailyNeighborhoodRide
      @DailyNeighborhoodRide Рік тому

      Obviously! I have ridden my fully ridged bike down that trail and it was fun. (Fine) Just because I’m on an enduro, doesn’t mean I don’t want the bike to be enjoyable on some flow trails too. Not every ride needs to be full of chunk, drops and jumps. Especially not the first ride on a new bike.

    Looks really fun! Do you find the bike to be creaky or prone to issues since you've owned it?

    • @DailyNeighborhoodRide
      @DailyNeighborhoodRide Рік тому

      I don’t find to be prone to any issues. I have had some creaks, I think mostly just from a dirty drivetrain? I don’t love the internal bottom bracket but I will replace with a screw together press-fit at some point. Overall, good bike so far. This is my third Rocky Mountain bike. Ride on 🤘

    • @DailyNeighborhoodRide
      @DailyNeighborhoodRide Рік тому

      I found the source of my creaking to be a loose front chainring. The cinch ring/screw that holds the chainring to the crank was loose a little bit and causing clicks and creaking under load, when pedaling.
