My neighbor’s are about to lose everything so I had better film it so I can go viral. That is the problem with people. They want to get everything on film and then post it. No one puts down the phone to help their fellow man. Self centered

Neighbour here. There were 2 people in the house next door, 1 of them jumped the fence with a hose, who tried to put it out, the occupant of the burning house was also out the back with a hose, the person filming, who is the second occupant of the house next door. Asked if anyone was inside, called the fire department, told the first occupant to give up and instead hose the fence between buildings (poison smoke from old house with asbestos and lead paint, was blowing over them up out the back, and hose wasn't doing shit) and then started filming, his first video was interrupted by a phone call, and did not save, this is the second video. Interesting to see how a short of my neighbours house on YT can lead to people online making the worst assumptions. @beththomas2222 @RangaAce stay positive.

2 things: i) This is in nz, we call 111 not 911. ii) A garden hose is going to do absolutely nothing for a fire this size, in fact it could be dangerous getting close to fire without fire retardant gear and there could be an electrical issue.

As a retired firefighter I know we would have had water on that fire within 30 seconds of arrival, what is taking them so long baffles me. Possibly they are retained firefighters which basically means part timers.

Can’t understand why people want to watch downwind from any fire….yeah it’s exciting to watch but you have no idea how toxic or dangerous it is to inhale even the slightest amount of smoke.

I think the insurance adjuster got there before they put any water on the fire.

In my opinion, these FF's did a fine job with this fire! The house was gone before they got there, and it was NOT that long for the water!! They can't just snap their fingers to have their lines charged!

I've watched loads of vids of US firefighters in action, and a lot of them take a long time to get the water flowing onto the fire, so much flaffing about like there's no real urgency

Super slow response… but want I want to say is think about the amount of structure fires daily across the globe. And the millennials are painting pictures in museums to protestcows, farms and cars… I guess they should start banning buildings too. The smoke from a structure fire is as toxic as anything.
